EDIT: A couple mistakes on our end!! br1 In the “French-Style” infographic, Haiti shouldn’t have been included on the list as Rum Agricole That’s a protected name, so not all sugarcane-based rums (rhums) can be called Agricole Haitian rums are one of these and are called Clairin (but still sugarcane-based) br2 Apparently El Dorado has stopped adding notable amounts of sweeteners to their rums! This happened within the last couple of years - I'm overdue for a software update in my brainbrHope this clears things up! I’m a subscriber and I love you videos, but I was rather disappointed on this one as you failed to mention some of the most important and best quality Rums for example SANTA TERESA RESERVA, DIPLOMÁTICO, CACIQUE 500, PAMPERO, all from Venezuela and aged in Solera Casks Also, ZACAPA and BRUGAL, you should try them some time they will blow your mind😉

I suggest you and everyone to try the “Don Papa” rum, straight from the Philippines; sugarcane based, aged in oak barrels Very fruity and perfect to drink by itself It also comes in a handful of varieties, my favorite for now is the “Baroko”

I liked the old traditional Barbancourt, aged something like 15 years It was Hatian when Hatian was good It featured a light brown sugar taste with some smooth vanilla from the barrel

Great documentary on Rum, Appleton from Jamaica I’ve had in Jamaica and love and I would drink religiously but it’s too dam expensive in the USA so I’ve adapted to Bacardi Gold much more affordable it fits my budget and I mix not graduated to sipping rum although I would love tobrTy😊

On the advice of a soccer buddy from Nicaragua I tried Flor de Caña some years ago Love it Generally have a bottle of 12 year in the cabinet for sipping & a 5 or 7 for mixing Being in Canada, Newfie Screech is a familiar rum to me I've also experienced Austrian Stroh rum, a very potent spirit in it's 80 format Not available where I live unfortunately I used to be able to get lower strength Stroh 40 when I lived in Ottawa Something about restrictions not allowing 80 to be imported ;( Stroh 80 is only palatable for mixing, burn you up if taken straight It's used to make Jägertee in Austria I like it in hot chocolate with marshmallows

When I was stationed in the Philippines, I tried a bottle of rum from a grocery store that was only 26 alcohol It was surprisingly tasty and smooth I don’t know what the brand was and I didn’t see it when looking for it online I was surprised to see a distilled liquor with such a low alcohol content

My grandfather was a labrador fisherman, He drank black low-grade but very strong Jamaican rum all his life, 3 or 4 days before he died he had a shot and a smoke of tobacco in his pipe, he never mixed a drink just a shot glass of rum and smoked a pipe all his life, He was 98 years old when he died

The first time I heard the term “rum” was in my junior high American history class During the revolution “hot buttered rum” seemed to be spirit of choice at the pub It was many years later during a ski trip that I finally got to try it
