What is the purpose of this video? To make fun of the $200 guitar, obviously; is the intent to also make fun of the people who can't afford one more expensive? I started out on a low-priced guitar, as did LOTS of guitarists We haven't all moved on to the $200,000 ones but that's no reason to make fun of us or discourage others like us Comment from : M W |
Loved this! Thanks! Comment from : Joris Van Daele |
Hi Brandon Very nice demo on those guitars For me the 20,000 guitar its not too far behind from the 200,000 onebrThey both sound great The 200,000 one sound clearer though and with a bit more flavor, if I can saybrPure curiosity, but I just wonder, how much was the guitar you played, on the video you dedicated to play [Recuerdos de la Alhambra by Francisco Tárrega]?brIf you don't mind, can you please tell us? Thank you! Comment from : Alexander Lamas |
Wow 34 minute video about guitar comparisons and you start them at 27 minutes in Comment from : Boang Liu |

Can we just start noticing that Brandon is really really handsome and his eyes hold a soul inside Comment from : Tuấn Dũng Nguyễn |

these guys called me broke using 4 different guitars Comment from : Fusion Critics |
For most people listening and playing on 2,000$ will do The 200,000$ takes the music to a different era, truly classical I would see though, reasons behind making an investment of 20,000$ The sound difference was definitely noticeable, but probably only to those truly listening And I'm sure this is where freedom is found in playability Comment from : GraceGiftedMercyGranted |
For me the 20 000 was the best sounding in general Some pieces sounded better on the 200k but others sounded I don't know, just "out of place" Comment from : Philippe Godbout |
Can anyone help me with the music name he played on 12:55 ? Comment from : Along Lcr |

my house is cheaper than that guitar???? Comment from : David J Saldana |

Man, so just coming across this video The difference between the $2,000 and the $20,000 was MASSIVE The difference between the $20,000 and the $200,000 was less noticeablebut noticeable, but did have some magic to it Comment from : Darkhelmett09 |

No question, the $200K produces the best sound by far It makes me think of the Red Violin’s purity Comment from : Dow Hurst |

I came to this randomly, probably because I've watched a lot of reviews of a totally different kind of guitar, and YouTube's algorithms decided that anything with 6 strings must be kind of the same I saw the title and expected $2,000 to really be the sweet spot, with highly diminishing returns for the 20,000 and no extra perceivable value for that 20,000 guitar which accidentally cost the same as our housebrbrWell, I was wrongbrbrThat 20,000 sounded so great - but when the 200,000 guitar was played, I was like hmmm, are they cheating? If they are (ie some tricks in post), it'll be revealed when they talk But - no such trickery Just a genuinely superb and superior instrument brbrI come from piano, and while I enjoy a great Steinway as much as anyone, I feel that well dialed in cheaper alternatives, are giving me much of the same (say, 90-93 of the same) at a fraction of the price It's the same with audio equipment Diminishing returns brbrWell, today I learned that Spanish guitar can be the exception that makes the rule Thanks for this video! you worth the 200,000 as player too, congrats you play very beautiful my friend Comment from : Jorge Ignacio Orsola Hernandez |

$200 - good start - hey, got to start somewhere! $2000 - perfect for serious classical student &/or impoverished professional looking to get going and having to play all sorts of gigs (weddings etc and handling coffee and beer!!! $20,000 - your very talented professional guitar player NEEDS this guitar!!!!!! $200000 - well, yes, it’s got a wonderful sound and you’re playing (& paying for) a work of historical value … however I’ve just been hearing a guitar made by some Australian guy - being played by Ana ??? (Sorry I’m a brand new convert!) and that guitar sings and resonates and plays like a Rolls Royce or Bentley When she played it, one felt like the guitar was happily walking and running and jumping and laughing and crying with her every thought and whim!!! Anyway - for what it’s worth - they are my thoughts … as well as my sincere thanks to you both for providing me with this wonderful opportunity to continue to explore your fabulous world of music making via such a wonderful instrument! Thanks and good luck to you both!!! Buy that $20k guitar!!!!!!! Comment from : Durham GRIGG |
I must say…when closing your eyes and listening to each guitar play back to back, the character of each instrument is very noticeable The 200 falls flat The 2000 is better but nothing really worth noting The 20k felt crisp And the 200k, I’m not sure how to put it other than the feeling imagining myself as a child playing in a field laughing with joy Comment from : Troy Nestor |
WOW… the difference was unimaginable… the $20K guitar had the sound that I preferred… Thank you for presenting such a great video Comment from : The_Strop_7 |
Its very clear on the guitar Less so in other stringed instruments Like violin and cello Comment from : Kronos camron |
To me, $2,000 is quite a lot of guitar There would be a big difference even getting to just 500brbr$200 is pretty cheap by guitar standards, but there's no need to be snobby about it, if it's what you can afford (or even if you can't afford that) it's better than no instrument at all To be fair, Brune does say that at one point, however there were also some quite sniffy remarksbrbrThe $20k guitar is gorgeous and sounded incredible, however I'd be more than happy with the $2kbrbrIf course the $200k guitar sounds incredible, but I don't know who's buying that and justifying the price - a handful of people in a nation, I would suggest Comment from : Greg |
Thank you, guys, for doing this! I’m not a classical player by any means, but the comparison of all four guitars was awesome! To my untrained ears, my big takeaway was this: a talented player can make a $200 cigar box with strings sound like art 😊 Next -given that same talented player, the difference between 20 and 200 grand was entirely lost on me All other things being equal, you’ve helped me define my price point: $20,00 and no more I could offset a lot of Human Misery with that excess $180,000! With room left for martinis!brbrThanks again! 😂 Comment from : Teejay Riedl |
Wow! Huge difference between the $200 and $2000 guitar! The sound of the $20k & $200k guitars is simply mind-blowing I had to listen again w both earbuds in I will stick with the $200 guitar tho until I can make it sound 1/10th as good as he does! Wonderful to see artists at work! Such beautiful music! Comment from : Woodstove bear |
$200k Somebody got screwed 😂brThe one for 2k was already absolutely sufficient Comment from : Jim Liquor |
I kind of hate how the guy on the right makes the 2000$ guitar sound like it’s cheap and near worthless “For the price point it sounds actually kinda good” Comment from : Twixched |
I feel like brandon definitely should have bought the £20000 guitar Seemed like a perfect pairing He made it absolutely sing! Comment from : Adam Ball |
my conclusion : Mr Hausser have to reduce the prize ! Comment from : Emilio Malbrán |
So, my son is in 7th grade and signed up for guitar class and will need a classical guitar w/ nylon strings I grew up playing drums and I’m clueless when it comes to guitars Can you recommend a good yet affordable guitar for him that I should buy I’m a full time single parent and on unfortunately on a budget Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated Thank you! Comment from : Nick B |

lol my guitar cost fucking 30$ and the starting is 200$ Comment from : Krycurium |

I feel like the purposely picked the shittiest 200 dollar guitar you can find There are yamaha for that price that are way better Comment from : quantumXk |
On a side note, i feel Brandon would be perfect to play Clark Kent Comment from : Zoremmawia Pachuau |
I live in India, $200 guitars are probably the midrange guitars here Very few people will afford $2000 guitar Max range will be $500 for most people I envy people living in first world country Comment from : Zoremmawia Pachuau |
A $2000 dollar guitar with laminated sides and back?? Sounds like a rip off Comment from : Uncle Rico |
On just my android phone i can hear the difference And the video is great at showing us the difference but it seems kind of redundant because you would expect this What's the purpose of the video?brbrI guess to help understand the justification of the price difference who do not buy things that are expensive normallybrbrI'm glad the luthier is great at his job but I was put off by his snobbishness, probably his attempt at humor But he seemed very negative about inexpensive items, but they definitely serve a purpose to get people started brbrBut, overall loved the instruments and definitely appreciate the knowledge of both men brbrI think further videos showing guitars that play better than their price range would be more helpful to people Especially with the wealth of info from both of these men brbrJust my observation as I go thru the rabbit hole of YouTube ✌️😊brbr Edit, Only half way thru, now to watch the rest of the video Comment from : Leo Degas |
$2000 guitar seems like you resonated the best out of that one Comment from : chrsc |
I do have an audio interface and Studio Headphones for my pc but i could DEFINITELY hear the differences at each price point and thats amazing Comment from : Chungus Himself |
Priceless Thank you Comment from : PJ P |
nothing made me feel more poor than "for the pricepoint it sounds reasonably good" when talking about a $2000 guitar 💀 Comment from : Genaro Morales |
I think the $200 was at an unfair disadvantage as the neck was too flat if all guitars had been set up for playability it may have well left less of a gap between it and its more expencive counterparts , i think this was on purpose Comment from : Scott Tait |
ive heard £500 guitars sound just as good as the 20,000 and the 200,000 well forget it ! Comment from : The Loner! |
This was fun and instructive…… Comment from : Happy Abby |
In terms of sound quality, the 20K one, hands down Comment from : N L |
12:53 what is this song????brI love how you are moving your picking hand to change the pluck sound Comment from : Smokin Arizona |
What is name of the song at 25:42? Comment from : Khải Văn |
20 and 200k one sound much better But the 200k one isn’t that much better than the 20k one I guess historical value makes the price Comment from : monkeyape456 |
a) Brandon you didn't comment (of course you didn't) about the ancient strings the first guitar had on itbrb) I strongly doubt that it was actually a 200$ guitar more likely the halfbrc) One has to be an idiot to give for a guitar anything over 5k Unless we talking about a historical valued instrument etcbrI really hope nobody felt a lesser man (or woman) just cause he /she can't afford these (ridiculously) overpriced wooden axes Comment from : dromeus21 |
32:34 i think that between the 200 and the 2,000 is the volume of it i think is louder and also i feel like is easier to notice when You play the notes I feel they are a little bit brighter But other than that i don't find much difference Comment from : Justino |
I would be scared to even hold that 200k dollar guitar I would be so afraid I'd scratch it or ding it! Comment from : Sam Smith |
After hearing the 20,000 and 200,000 guitars, i basically skipped over the 200 guitar because it hurt my ears Comment from : mike melina |
I’ve never seen such a nominal difference in such a huge gap in price Such a scam! Comment from : kenrose333 |
That $200 sounds like my first guitar :-) Now I cannot compare, as I have 6 string Fender Sonoran electro-acoustic From my hearing it fits somewhere between $200 and $2000 :-D Comment from : Ferroun |
$200- you shouldn't have to fight that hard to get a sound out of a guitarbr$2000- Better, nice tone, but no real heartbr$20,000- Okay, now this is what a guitar should really sound like! Easier to play, works with you not against you, can probably feel the resonance in your chest, like you should (beautiful tone and clarity- his dad made a great guitar, would love to be around in 100 years to hear how it's matured)br$200k- oh my goodness, pass the tissues, it's heart wrenching!brStringed instruments should feel like a beautiful dance, not a wrestling match Comment from : Treasacello |
The $20000 guitar for some reason sounded as if it had more clarity than the 2K one The 2K has so much overtone it almost sounds muddled Where the clarity of the 20K one is refreshing but the notes are so sharp it almost feels as if the overtone of the previous note is cut by the current one Where as the 200K one has even more clarity and the overtones are just so rich The clarity is brighter than the 20K one but the overtones compliment every note and the current note doesn’t cut the previous one I’ll listen to the playing with headphones next to see if there’s a change Comment from : Cali_Nerd |
Why would a guitar cost 20K or over WTF does it print money ????? Comment from : RickyD RC |
Depth, clarity, resonance were amazingly substantial between all four I did not know about Hauser I bet every guitar in those cabinets were vibrating as it was played My head phones loved it brKeep up the fascinating work! Comment from : Fernando Rivera |
What kind of guitar was the one u got at guitar center? Just curious Comment from : Ignacio P |
I have a £1200 Takamine I bought 30 years ago, which I love playing more than any of my other guitars, so I put on my AirPod max in noise Cancel mode to listen to this…and damn, I could hear the tones of the $20k, just stunning; via headphones there was little difference to the $200k, but I’m almost imagining the notes ringing through my chest and my head…wonderful vidbrNow to convince my wife I need to spend $20k on a new classical 😅😍 Comment from : Charles S |
I had no idea you could buy a guitar for $200000 Absolutely amazing What makes it worth so much? This luthier guy sounds like Gene Simmons Comment from : Chris S |
The "guitar with a head cold" is the best way I have ever heard a lower end guitar described Lol Comment from : Rhymedy Gaming |
This shows how great a video can be; how educational and useful to the audience Comment from : Persinho |
20k guitar was the best Only marginally better sound over the 2k, but you played much better on it, seemed much more natural Cool video! Comment from : Josh |
Nope, I can’t tell any difference Not for $200,00 anyway! Comment from : Jonathan Bushnell |
While the trained player can hear the difference , I doubt 99 of the people we would play for could tell Any differencebrSo basically your paying for yourself and I understand that, that's important, but understand that and do not put yourself in a bad position spending to much on a instrument Comment from : Maximus Tull |
Dear Marshall thats video is a fake ! Due this player can play on all stages also a tuna can with 6 wrapped rubber band br( im joking but this player is formidable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) in any case the 20000 guitar for me is the best ! Comment from : Bromuro Falcone DF |
do different kind of stings contribute the quality of sound as well ? Comment from : Clem Lau |
I don't play guitar (just produce on FL Studio) but I prefer the 200 one, dead serious Something about the ''i just picked this up randomly from this dusty corner of the room but it's enough to get my feelings out'' vibe that fits that music better The others feel a bit too sterile almost Kinda like how making a sound/sample lo-fi or bitcrushing it can make it hit harder at times Comment from : Rifle Eyez |
Can you even tell the difference on mobile phone without a 20k sound system? 😂😂😂 Comment from : CookdIslander |
Is there a link to the $2000 guitar? Comment from : Ghett Away |
What was the song on the $2,000 guitar? Comment from : Ben Bowen |
Man he dragged the guitar, that's a nono even if it's a cheap guitar 😑 Comment from : Enting Kabesote |
I can make them all sound like under 100 dollar amazon guitars Comment from : Barry Mckockinner |
Can I hear the difference? That's not the point Comment from : Michael Joseph Patric Hummel |
it would be interest to put other musicians to discover wich guitar is just by playing or hearing Comment from : Raphael Barbar |

You can get a Cort AC100DX for 150 and it would sound much better than that orange monstruosity Comment from : elsanto productora |
Wait whats wrong with apple ear buds? Comment from : TeamGnarly |
Could definitely tell the difference between the $2,000 and the $20,000, but not that much difference between the $20,000 and the $200,000 Comment from : Derek Snider |
Get an Esteban Comment from : Anthonius AlphaProject |
I played guitar for 7 years and can play Sor's Variations on A theme by Mozart ( not too badly) and Caprichio Arabe etcbrbrbrThe guitar that stood out to me was the 20000 dollar guitar Just like the person in this video, when I heard the first few chords I stopped mentally in my head and when "oh wow, Dammmnnn" and so did the guitarist here brbrIts because as a guitarist I saw how little he strained to produce such a sound When he was playing on the 2k guitar he COULD get the sound that he wanted, the sound he KNEW he was capable of but he was putting in so much energy fighting the instrument With the 20k guitar His hands werent straining to produce force, his body wasnt fighting the strings and there appeared to be no tension in his entire body Yes the 2000 dollar guitar made a really really good sound but required A LOT OF EFFORT The 20k guitar was a woman who WANTED you to take her to dinner brbrThat much was clear Oh so clear In Comment from : HIDEO MIT UNS |
This video just comes off as an egotistical comparison Seriously, it's hard to respect anything coming out of fat boys mouth Comment from : Snap This |
Its crazy how when youve been a musician for years you can hear the difference between each one lol Comment from : Kamikaze Hound |
