Firstly, great video! Question for you please: how are less common commands (commands specific to certain make & model) handled with these bi-directional tools? Do the car's modules present a list of available commands that are displayed on the scan tool so that different cars & modules will yield a different list of available commands, or is the scan tool pre-programmed with a fixed list of commands that various cars may or may not support? For a specific example, I'm looking for a scan tool that can command my Chevy Bolt EV to run the transmission fluid pump manually as part of the drive unit fluid fill process, and so far the scan tools I've looked at don't specifically show that command available for this car Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance!

Wired in my opinion also has it's place and comes in handy when it comes to ECU programming Also it is generally faster too I don't trust ECU programming using wireless One glitch or drop connection and your ECU can get corrupted and destroyed Wireless overall is better but when it comes to programming costly items like ECUs I like using wired just for that Less can go wrong Obviously if you had to choose one go with the wireless as how often do people program ECUs

As a diyer I bought an Autel but somehow the system messed up and not able to restore to original version Autel didn’t want to help me recover before I purchased an update But diyer don’t want spend money on update So the scan tool become abandoned now😢

I bought the D7 and a fairly advanced DIYr With minimal use and storage indoors, the unit started failing as it shuts down, in the middle of a live data recording while troubleshooting for a problem The company is slow in responding and my warranty is expiring in 3 months of the 2 year warranty

Not including the snap-on, if you skip years in updating the scan tool, do they charge the fee for every year you missed? I would probably update every 2-3 years But no, if they charge the annual upgrade for EACH year!

I have seen so many rave reviews out there about the xtools, but when I see a review from day to day mechanics that have to work with these for a living the reviews say to stay away from xtools and say they are all hype and don't do hardly anything they say Do you have any videos of actually using the xtool and diagnosing and fixing something?

I bought a $4000 autel scan tool, it's the updates that's the killer, , unless ur making ur money back using the tool don't buy it, it's ridiculous to pay for updates on vehicles that are nolonger manufactured or maintained by the car companies Shm

I have the Apollo D9and I hate it Very much I have a Matco Maximus 40 on its way to replace it I bought the OBD1 kit for the snap on too 600 bucks for that I have had nothing but problems with the updates, to the point I didn't renew, so now it's basically a 5k code reader If I have problems, I can expect to wait 3 months before the Snap-on dealer comes back to my shop

I'm sorry, but snap-on is garbage The intelligent diagnosis doesn't really work It's as good as Google I own them all Snap-on does only half of what the other tools do Snap-on has some tool gimmick add-ons, but for a real technician I want to be able to dig into modules, this is where snap-on falls short

My friend bought a snap on scanner and he can't do nothing with it and he paid 5000$ for itme I bought a AUTEL scanner for 680$ and I can do everything with it Evan European carssnap on scanner don't work well on European cars at all

thanks for this informative presentation (I might buy a XTOOl D9 PRO because all the other ones do not manage clutch adaptation, EGR relearning, AdBlue Test and so on) Even the TOPTDON Phoenix Max could not read a single Mercedez Benz Tiptronic - VCDS does the same thing than the SnapOn for all the VAG group (VW, Skoda, Seat, Audi) for less than 600 $

After using the a30m and the D8 from XTools all of 2022 Specifically for toyota cars including Hybrids from 2003 up to 2015 Prius, Corolla non hybrids, and Camry, i concluded that for my use cases that Techstream V1730 with a Mongoose Plus cable on windows 10pro is far better One example is only Techstream supported the TPMS on a 2008 Corolla LE

I’ve been using a snap on Zeus for the last 2 years and I am really not impressed Connecting to the wireless dongle is extremely finicky and is a constant annoyance I find it extremely over priced (but it does a have a built in scope which does add to the value)

Thank you for all the videos and the detail you give I have purchased scan-tools over the years and thought they were a rip off for what came with them I have been looking for a new scan tool because recently I just failed my Matrix transmission and want to install a used one IF I purchase a D8 I can reset the transmission but didn't see a video that explained how to do that or if I need to do that I am going to try to put in a newer model transmission so I can get the updated transmission mods I would like to see what you think

So I been watching your channel about different scanner I'm just trying find out what one is good as a snap on because I can't afford a snap on scanner I like all the reviews I'm trying program keys and ECU and controller the car if the ECU is not working but I really don't no I just need a good scanner I don't want to waste my money and have to get two scanner when I can get one that can do everything
