old video, but I would put my cheap YHM 45 cobra (simple sound tech mono-core design), with some light ablative and regular cheap 230grn against any of your 9mm cans (challenge) it smokes my obsidian9 , Osprey9, T-Rant9 on sound performance Backyard kill halloween pumpkin quiet a squirt from a nasal sprayer with RC car shock oil will last a 15 rd mag I can send you mine to test with your sound meter equipment if you don't believe my hype I do agree that 9mm through it is like sending a hotdog down the hallway and not very quiet

It's amazing that you jumped through through all these hoops and yet you totally neglected to do the most basic test, a dB sound measurement test FAcT is that a 45 supressor is quieter than a 9mm supressor Also, shooting a 9mm in a 45 can is less than 3 dB louder than shooting a 9mm out of a 9mm canbrbrI own the Obsidian 45 and I shoot my FNX 45 and M17 through it and both are pretty damn quiet

Great video! I bought the Hybrid 46 specifically so I can suppress everything I own with 1 purchase And while I agree with the science behind this video, I can tell you from experience that the report differences between the 46 and a dedicated 9mm can on a 9mm handgun are marginal Plus, the fact that suppressors are so far out of reach for a lot of people, I think multi-cal cans have a strong and prominent place in the suppressor market and definitely shouldn't be looked down on 👍

I'm looking to get a 9 mm can what's your recommendations I was thinking about getting a multi can cuz I want something that could be used on my 556 and my 9mmm but that's not going to work because I need something for pistols and PCC so I'm going to have to go with something for rifles and something for pistols so I'm not going to be able to get something for everything I know it's not going to be as good as if I go with a 9 mm can or am I wrong I've only bought one suppressor before and it's a 22 can so I'm relatively new to this any advice or recommendations would be great

The point about Europe is an important one We are supposedly "the gun country" but suppressors are heavily regulated If you go to Europe, where guns are typically highly regulated, suppressors are seen as something that gun owners MUST HAVE In fact many ranges REQUIRE weapons to be suppressed because it's a safety device That's it

I have one similar to yours It's not exactly Hollywood quiet, but I think it does improve accuracy My 22 LR silencer was a much better investment Not much louder than a pellet gun My NFA paperwork in 2021 took only 5 months to get approved 45 ACP ammunition has gotten too damn expensive 9mm has gotten cheap

I honestly did that myself I have a 762 can for my 300 black but I do use it on my 556 gun and my 9mm can on my 22 Howeverwith that being saidI understand fully that suppressing the 556 or the 22 isn't as optimal as a caliber specific can I just don't have another 2 grand for more 😢 Great video

Your math is correct however there is more art than science in suppressor technology if more volume were the deciding factor other cans would meter quieter than an obsidian such as an osprey but the fact is it does not also volume in ANY can gets taken up by carbon deposit over time interesting enough "dirty" cans almost always meter better than new cans

The price is a factor, but the only reason I haven’t bought a can is because of the waiting period It’s ridiculous to have to wait up to a year to actually receive the thousand dollar toy you bought There’s no reason suppressors should be as regulated as they are

I went with a bushwhacker 46 as my first can and I can't say I regret it at all It silences everything I would want it to 300 blk is super quiet with it It's rated for rifle calibers so I can shoot 556 out of it, and it does just fine The big bore prevents a bunch of gas from blowing back into the action, it's still gassy but not like a 22/30 cal bore would bebrbrThe reason I bought new cans instead of just using that one is that changing mounts can be annoying at the range That's it

You say so much without saying anything that I couldn’t watch the entire video brbrI just got an Octane 45 and it does not suck in anyway I’m fact it’s totally rocks mounted to my FNX45 Tac You can hate on them but that’s your OPINION (that’s a hard fact) Maybe you should take a good look at the different between opinion and fact Will it perform best on calibers it wasn’t design for, no It works best with 45acp But you can still use it with other calibers Most people do a lot of research before buying a suppressor (not all but most) and we know the limitations of the can we buy If someone thinks otherwise that’s on them, not the product

If you did have to budget it out, would you agree that going with the can that supports the largest caliber you're shooting is a good idea as long as you can change out end caps? Like a 45 suppressor but can put any size end cap on it from 45 down to 223 and everything in between Well, really just 30 and 9mm in between I have a Hybrid 46 on the way (since Dec) as well as a free Octane 9 that FINALLY shipped a week ago and my plan, at least for now, was to just get a 30 and 223 end cap for the Hybrid once it's finally out of Form 4 jail Hopefully by the end of the yearbrbrObviously with enough time and money I'd love to have multiple suppressors for each caliber but it's just so time and money prohibitive right now Form 4 times are just absurd, even back in 2016 when I bought my MPX (factory SBR) it took 105 months to get my paper form back

I have a Griffin Armament Bushwacker 46 in jail I ordered it for 3 reasons 1) It will handle the pressure of 762x39 rds with a 10" barrel 2) Griffin has a special going on Buy 1 suppressor and get a free 22 suppressor (Still have to pay tax on it, lol) 3) I can take it apart to clean it Adequate sound suppression, maybe not optimum suppression But maximum versatility I can buy a lot of adapters for the cost of another can Peace, Bro br😎✌️

What would be an awesome idea is if Rugged and other makers would sell baffle stacks for conversion They could easily make 9mm bore baffles (they already sell the 9mm end caps) to go inside the obsidian (and other) 45 cans They could price them to be competitive but not low enough to completely eat up all new can sales

A good test would have been to run the Obsidian 45 on the 9mm with a 9mm endcap and booster vs the 45 with it’s endcap and booster They do make a fixed barrel mount as well
