They need to hire you at the mint as QA man!brI was shocked at the issue you had with the Bristlecone but this shows how crazy the issue really is Wow! Comment from : Homestead Aquarius |
I'm sorry, but for the premiums that those coins come with, it's unacceptable The US Mint simply has poor quality control, and we should expect more from them Comment from : labby2 |
You got an extra coin😅😂 Comment from : V-SAMPLE |
Kooks are my fave! Comment from : D-Man |
Should this actually be considered rare numismatic mint error? Comment from : Rootatlogic |
Love the commentary Comment from : jermaine coles |
My 2023 Buffalo is like yours It's as if during pressing, the gold mushed up the side of the die Comment from : Kirk Weidler |
You’re a funny guy 😂 bro, when I saw that leaning tower of Piza/coin I couldn’t help but chuckle I’m from down under & it only makes sense to that majority of my gold are from the Perth Mint & I’ve never had a problem with their beautiful products The premium from the US mint are already high as they are over there, with the shipping across the pacific it’s just weigh over priced down here Either way you’ve got a beautiful stacked Comment from : GOLD |
Are the 2023 Buffalos uneven like previous years? And even though they are uneven, do they still fit in a capsule? Comment from : Steve Crawford |
Great video, and interesting comparison Do you make recommendations on safe and secure reputable dealers for gold buffalos? If so, please share Thanks! Comment from : Andrew Oliver |
Bill crap Britannias are worse than buffaloes imo Comment from : Casey Mims |
Thanks for sharing 2is1brWhat a amazing collection 👍 Comment from : bluewaterSTAX1980 |
I recently bought 2 Gold Buffalo from my local LCS and had them both tested before I left and made purchase Though there is one Buffalo that has a rough spot on the face of the native American by the edge Can I get your opinion on it Comment from : Jay Pitargue IInd |
Glad I found this video, I have an uneven Buffalo and wasn’t sure if I was losing my mind or if it was in fact uneven Relieved to see this is a common thing Comment from : chris lynch |
Nice Holt there!! Comment from : Alex Litner |
For 24k gold I was debating between the Buffalo and Maple Leaf Watching videos of the bad QC on the Buffalo combined with their high premiums has me leaning towards the Maple Leaf Comment from : Leo Mortimer |
What vendor did you buy from? Where you said you stopped buying from Just trying to avoid for my purchases Comment from : Airport Margaritas |
Love your coins my friend and I’m new to this game please invest in some cheap capsules for your beautiful coins as you paid 2000k for them I will definitely put them in case when I get my firs Buffalo just ordered some 1/10ths Comment from : Grace VanderWaal |
I have noticed some significant flaws on my silver buffalos I am interested in the gold buffalos, however Does anyone know how they compare in terms of quality? Comment from : Gary Smith |
Where did you buy these from? Comment from : Smartmoneyadvice |
Any problems that come from the US Mint does not surprise me at all Their quality control sucks, and they prove that over, and over again Living in the States kinda forces us to buy their products (Eagles that is), but I learned extremely quickly not to get drawn in to the premium crap they sell, that probably 50 of the time has some kind of a problem Thank you, but no thank you I will of course continue to purchase the Gold Eagles for now, but holding off on the over-premiumed Silver versions Comment from : Victor Frankenstein |
I SEE it! That's crazy 🤪 Comment from : Jeremiah |
Nice video So should i buy 1 oz buffalo normal BU from amex or mintdirect coin? i never bought an coin before Comment from : Shuvo |
Thanks for the info I did notice your 1st strike apmex coin had some thinning on the rim as well might want to check it again brbrBut so Say you get one with thinning rim Should I ask for an exchange or keep it as an "error" coin ? Comment from : papi7rx7 |
ASMR level 1000 Love the background Very esthetically pleasing to the eye My first Buffalo is on the way I can’t wait ! Comment from : nichols worth |
When you go to sell, it doesn't matter what grade it is There all the same , spot is all you get regardless of grade Comment from : Kim |
Got my first Buffalo today, almost got a heartattack when I saw it was uneven I thought it was a fake Didnt realise it´s a common thing with these coins Weight is right and measurements are on spot Thank you for this videobrGreetings from Sweden Comment from : Nicolae Ceaușescu |
I love your collection of books ! Comment from : Mote Motola |
I like a bit of odd character too! They should go up in price just for that nice flaw! Comment from : Ray Benson |
Are certain years exempt from rim finning or uneven edge? Is it seen more on buffalos from mint sheets or tubed? Comment from : Abbè Busoni |
You don’t have to cut it open like that The plastic actually separates along the sides Comment from : Hocksman |
Awesome collection congratulations! What is that beautiful knife? Comment from : Michele Orlando |
why do yu want to stack your gold like scrooge Comment from : Robert 1337 |

If the Indian is crooked I suggest to you that it is because he has been drinking Comment from : w Higgins |
My buffalos look the same way Comment from : The Reign of the Zero |
I just bought my first Buffalo Definitely flawed from the mint Uneven rim brbrNo biggie The buffalo's are for avoiding taxes on the sale of bullion when I buy my ocean front house in Mexico Comment from : Austin Douglas |
I love Buffalos, but I'm enthralled with Perth bullion Comment from : Dean |
All your buffalos from lcs? Comment from : Mr lawton534 |
To sell as first strike you go by the date on the monster box and basically all that come out for the first couple months were made in month one Its basically a marketing gimmick now What you really want is a coin from very early in the dies you will see a difference in sharpness of the strike The us mint is not doing quality control checks they should be doing and rejecting coins First flaw I see unlike perth mint that makes there own blanks / Planchets the us mint buys them from Sunshine Mint in Las Vegas Why give up any profit and quality control Comment from : Tennessee C&C |
so funny how people keep buying higher premium coins guys gold is gold and according to basel 3 the buyers will become the banks and they dont give a fuck if its a maple leaf or buffalobrstack the lowest coin premium! Comment from : noob-noob |
So what about MAPLE LEAFS 🍁 ?THERE 24K Comment from : Frank Imperato |
Wow! I didn’t know the buffaloes were so uneven Thanks for the info! Comment from : Liquid Electrum cc |
I'm a fan of slabbed UK bullion, but its extremely hard to find examples without faults or scratches from especially bullion dealers but also the royal mint Comment from : roger metcalf |
where are you getting those beautiful books in the back ground ? Comment from : Maple leaf metals |
I got a question, could be worth a mention in a video though probably not an entire videobut in relation to coins from the Perth Mint let's say in 15-20years Australia becomes a Republic Perth mint coins would no longer have the Queen Or, possibly even, the Queen is Replaced by our next Monarch How, if at all, would those things effect the value of coins? I'm new to this, but in the current climate, I've put one third of my saving into mostly gold and a little silver I'm already hooked on it, though have a lot to earn Comment from : Joshua-deane Crockett |
Premium proof coins from the Royal Mint are probably the same quality as basic bullion coins from the US mint you would not believe the state of some of the "proof high premium coins" I have had from the Royal Mint I think your right to ditch the supplier that you've bad coins from I have had to do the same ! 3 strikes and their out! (bullion dealers that is) Comment from : Chris BH |
Awesome collectionand the coins are always sweet too but this is the first time I noticed some boss books you got there I feel like one was there just for me,but that's just my own lil delusions lol! Comment from : Zaycream21 |
Jenga! Jenga! JENGA! I never look at my coins like this Have you weighed them all? 🤷🏻♂️ Comment from : Empire Precious Metals |
Britannias are 999 fine Buffalos are 9999 fine Maples/Perth are also 9999 fine There might be a slight problem with even that miniscule impurities for the Britannia The "real" question is which one is easiest to sell where you are at? Comment from : Cairpre Liffechair |
Hi mate, Could you do a video on why Britannia doesn't make a ringing sound when struck? And clarify thank you Comment from : john osb |
Did you get a lot of inquiries on the crooked buffalos or just that email I sent ya? I asked kitco about it and they also said it's normal and that most of them are that way They were willing to return/exchange them but if they are all that way, whats the point? The buffalos remind me a little of old world coins that were so sloppy and uneven US gov can't get much right these days so why should we expect coins to be made right? Though so far I like the eagles We'll see how they stack up Comment from : Scott Spencer |
Keep buying and promoting the Buffy Lows I need the premiums to drop on AGEs Comment from : Think For Yourself |
Love the buffalo, uneven? wow cool Sorry about your bad luck If you go to the US Mint's FAQ's they tell you there is not a first strike They do not regulate when the coins were minted at all Just so you know Keep on stacking Comment from : Cash and Coins |
I love my Buffaloes I just throw them capsules anyways, so I don't mind them being uneven👊 Comment from : Highlander Stackin |
2 is 1 is a buff fellow Comment from : Got Boost? |
Buffaloes are the best because unlike other 24k coins, you're not as concerned if they're as pretty, so you're less concerned handling them You pay more attention to a piece of lint on a silk suit than you do on a cotton field jacket Comment from : Karens Onlyfans Photographer |
I like your channel You really have great content Continue making these videos Comment from : Nelson Carvajal |
Was worth doing it for the video, otherwise first strikes are not worth the extra premium, at least for me You could see the lean on your Buffalo tower, not good enough for a coin as prestigious as that All said and done, the Buffalo has the edge on the Eagle Great vid, thanks Comment from : Saxon Stacker |
Despite the few issues with the 2021 High Relief American Liberty ( uneven pressing ) , it’s a fine coin to have in the collection and will be more coveted as time goes by … Comment from : Tiki Mann |
Nice vid Unique! Comment from : Goldcic Vibefel |
The mint is just dropping the ball, it's like quality control department is closed Comment from : LINA GRÖTE |
Many of my buffalo's are in capsules and are starting to get red spots Comment from : LINA GRÖTE |
Although I revere the American Native Americans, I just can’t bring myself to buying these coins, much less stacking them, in lieu of the simply gorgeous African American Liberty Her, I would stack to the Moon Comment from : David Martin |
Both US Mint gold coins have finning ! Comment from : Tree3 Climber |
The finning on the buffalos is absolutely atrocious and is absolutely uncalled for with current mint technology Comment from : LancoBear |
I love your videos because I see myself in some things you say I love any video you mention crypto I just bought my first proprty (with help pf morgare of course), crypto si a larege middle finger to the corrupt system and gold & silver are just hypotising (unfortunatelly there is no 1ozt btc pure gold coin with cool design on the market) Crypto is an amazing asset, physical gold & silver is hypnotising and sticks are diversification is the key!!! Comment from : James Kirk |
thank you dude !!! awesome take care as well subed dude Comment from : Tezcatlipoca |
Selling gold is annoying though because many times you can only sell one or small amounts at a time at an LCS Not only that, but they only offer less than spot Comment from : LibertyOverTyranny |
Make a video on the British Sovereign Comment from : Jack Mccabe |
They may not be perfect to some, but they’re perfect to me 👍🏼 Comment from : Brock Exchente |
OMG esp when u spent $1800-$2000 on one coin Comment from : Richie Rich |
Wish I could like this vid twice!! Comment from : Brandon Torres |
I say maples Quality Control are better than buffaloes Comment from : platoguy69 |
Love when you break out the coins from their packaging I’m really not really concerned about slight flaws on the Buffaloes but I think that the Mint should do a better job on their coins I probably wouldn’t pay extra cash for a perfect Buffalo unless it’s a proof or a RP that is graded Comment from : Gold Adventures with Brett |
That's nothing, take a look at the 10 oz silvertown buffalo bar if you want to see a FUBAR'd edge Comment from : 700NitroXpress |
I'll be buying a gold Buffalo in the next few months this video convinced me to get that first strike just so I can lessen the likelihood of an uneven rim My OCD couldn't handle that imperfection Thanks! Comment from : Scott Valenti |
I prefer buffalos over eagles myself Most of mine are proofs in mint capsules but I do have 5 BU buffalos I appreciate the rugged looks they kinda remind me of pre 33 gold coins All 5 of my BU buffalos have the same issues but to me it gives them charter Besides it's still gold I'm not sure why the mint has a hard time making them compared to Canada I've never owed or seen a gold Maple Leaf that wasn't perfect and they're 24k gold Comment from : Richard Contini Jr |
I got same issues with Buffalo 2021 year Comment from : Evgeniy |
Crooked or not, Buffaloes are one of my favorites besides the Maple Leafs Comment from : Mowing, Trimming, & Edging |
Nothing is perfect Comment from : PHIL V |
Thanks for the science experiment : ) First Strike designation does nothing for me Ill have to pull my Buffalos out this weekend and take a closer look! Comment from : 72cmcinc |
since they're made of 24 kt gold i wonder if those 2016 gold coins are even pressed too it's probably easier to press 1/2 oz vs 1 ozbrand if it really bothers someone that they're crooked you can always melt'm in to a bar jk terrible idea Comment from : Nathan R |
I have a couple buffalos and several Canadian maples I’ll be honest I think the Canadian maple is a much nicer looking coin But I agree with the location thing (for now) So I am trying to purchase some buffalos too It’s cash to me But it may matter to the guy I sell it to Good content as always Comment from : Greg Johnson |
You did it The Liberty got sprung And yes I care about the precision of the Buffalos It ticks me off that they are not nearly perfect BTW, my one and only Brit, a 2021 has an uneven rim as well Comment from : thecoinopcollector |
Wow! Ur RICH! I thought of an idea… I don’t think you should keep those non-pristine Buffalos Doesn’t go with your brand - I’ll be glad to take them off your hands 🤪… PM me for the mailing address 😁 Comment from : Wsdmrtst |
I’m new to the hobby Started stacking last April Bought two Buffalos from SD Bullion and both had uneven rims plus fins on their rims! I thought I had counterfeits or something! Totally freaked me out So I did some googling and learned it’s a fairly common issue on Buffalos Now I kind of dig it! In my amateur opinion, it gives them character! Comment from : Brett Hoffman |
I think the finish helps hide those minor defects Wouldn’t pay the extra for the mint direct Honestly with Buffalos, I pick up random dates for the best price I know you’ve spoke on that, but I don’t mind As long as it doesn’t look like a cull Comment from : Eric Parnell |
👍 Comment from : from Ontario |
I just picked up a 1/4 oz maple , same thing here ,thought maybe it got squished but ya uneven rim It was the first one I picked up , was pretty disappointed…I feel a little better after seeing this video lol thx What kind of blade if you don’t mind me asking ? Comment from : Bart Kluczkowski |
I saw a buffalo on one of the coin sellers screen with the description of a gold foil finish? What's that? Another ? does the quarter oz Maple leaf 2022 have the security of the one oz ? I didn't see an emblem as on the one oz Thank you for any help you can give Comment from : Road Way |
