Great video One I thing I notice with the cheaper safes is they often show an impressively "thick" door but never show the inner construction and how it is basically just thin metals welded and shaped to give the illusion of being solid Very informative and quickly demonstrates the differences Thanks for making it Comment from : Emerald Bay Media |
Are they safes are RSC? That needs to be discussed up from the differences Comment from : WillBrink |

Would have been interesting to see a cut off wheel used on the sides br From other things I have seen, criminals are avoiding the doors because they are stronger than the sides or tops Comment from : Qingeaton |
I'm trying to find a good safe for my home right now It's amazing to me how little worthwhile Information there is on them Too many people touting $500-$1,000 safes as being great or as good as a $6,000 onebrThis is a very good video on the difference of cheap construction vs one that is well made Comment from : Thomas Brand |

Why always the door?? You have three sides and the top that angle grinder will easily cut through so why always talking about the door? Comment from : Steve fodor |

This video is a prime example of quality over quantity No fancy transitions, filler videos to over emphasize, no extra commentary Transparent, informational and straight to the point brbrA good example of old fashion and I wish more people in my generation did this Comment from : Ascian Fashion |
The bottom line is, bolt it down as securely as possible If a crew wants to get in, they will The cheaper one is lighter, but if someone wants to take the time, effort and make lots of noise, the contents are theirs Get the heavier, more expensive safe if you can afford it Oh, and don’t tell people you have it Comment from : KG B |
Thanks for the informative information video on safe’s Comment from : Dre’finest |
Validates the adage, "you get what you pay for" Comment from : Commiefornia |
All these new gun safes are junk Door gaps are too big and too easy to put in a pry bar I have purchased a few "real" safes The big old ones used in businesses Barnes, Mosler Schwab, Victor, Pittsburg etc You can find them for under $200 and convert them to a gun safe Door gaps are less than 1/32" Comment from : Billy Goat |
I get the stuff about the doors Seems like most guys, if they have access, will just use a grinder or something similar and just cut into the side of the safe Even a good hammer and pry bar, will probably let someone be able to cut/smash in through the side, if the safe uses cheap thin gauge metal Comment from : BiG BeAR |
All guns safes are so easy to pick open, let the law picking lawyer design one, your get the best and safest lock possible colin from croydon England 👍 Comment from : Colin Evans |
Well you're absolutely right about the design of the safe makes a big difference I am looking at a half inch door frame 4, step system, 1-inch ar500, quarter-inch ar500, 8 inches of concrete and quarter-inch ar500 Comment from : Albert Von Schultz |
All depends on your tools and sounds have not making neighbors aware every safe can be easily open I don't care what you have they are steel box they all can be opened and cut open does not matter I don't care what manufacturer there is in the world they all can be open with the door or without the door they can be open every single safe made can be open Comment from : David Merlino |
All that means nothing means nothing at all can open any safe easily Comment from : David Merlino |
LOL about 1/3rd of the safes on your website really meet that criteria Comment from : Virginia scurti |
Just flip the two safes over and have 2 guys with prybars go at it Comment from : kennathestar |
Thanks for your advise and I have looked at a low to fair priced 375 lbs24 gun safe on Harbor Freight's website and think to have a much closer look at one of them in their store! Comment from : John Long |
How long is it b4 the intruder gets a couple rounds of buckshot from the shotgun under the mattress Comment from : Mike Navs |
Great video if you're talking about dumb thieves Who cares about how much door gap, blah, blah, blah? Do you really think all thieves are dumb enough to go through the obviously most reinforced part of the safe? Angle grinder and cutting wheel and one side of your safe is gone, along with all that's in it, but the door will at least be unharmed SMH Comment from : William Fusco |
Great video! Comment from : Paul Britton |
Misspelled presentation at 5:24 Comment from : Red McC |

Two words for your "Secure Safes": Angle GrinderIf it ain't UL rated for Tools they are all the same and a $30 battery powered Harbor Freight cutoff wheel will slice it like butter in second Comment from : KTMs 1 |

Thumbs up from me? Comment from : Quang Anh Pham |
i guess it's ok to buy that cheap china Big Horn case if your guns isn't worth much but using it to keep kids and armature thief away Comment from : kracksmith4ejm1 |
Unfortunately there is no such thing as a safe safe, if someone wants to get in any safe all they need to have is the right tools, the first line of deffense with any safe small or big is the safe must be completely hidden that no one can see it @ all therefore any intruder who breaks in to a home will never see it if it is well hidden Comment from : Burt Bowers |
Can you review secureit next Comment from : Jeepbountyhunter |
This guy is a good salesman I am shopping around for a decent safe Thank you for this video Subbed up for more good tips! Comment from : Phil Cooper |
I would say that anything that remotely looks like a safe isn’t very safebrBest strategy is to have a decoy safe with false valuables in itbrYour real valuables should be in something an intruder will have great difficulty locating and if they did locate it they won’t realise it is a safe place for your real valuables Comment from : Peter Tuson |
This is a good video The bolt work on a safe is always a really telling feature IMO There is a reason so many gun safes don't show their bolt work Companies often market the number of locking bolts as well as the thickness of the locking bolts, neither of which are nearly as important as the bolt work itself Another telling thing is when rapping on the door and the side walls with your knuckles If there is almost no sound made and it physically hurts your knuckles a bit with absolutely zero give, you're tapping on a pretty substantial plate of steel The inferior safe shown here is not necessarily a bad product--it's fine for use as a locking container, but it's not a security safe That said, a lot of gun safe companies promote their products like they are high-security safes, when in reality they are simply locking boxes with really good marketing Comment from : RDROff |
A safe is just the last layer of security Comment from : 8trigrammer |

I just got one of the last Summit Rainier 6430's from The Safe Keeper and I couldn't be happier with it Full 7 gauge body, relocker, beefy mechanism, S&G lock, with a recessed 7/16 inch solid steel plate door A really good safe isn't cheap Think about this, you're putting all of your guns, money, jewelry, important documents and whatever other valuables into one steel box, make it a good one and bolt it down Comment from : Sal |
