I thought the S&P 500 was a good investment alongside dollar cost averaging over the long term But this video has made it clear that the S&P is bad Now I'll start investing in businesses I don't know what I'm doing but it's been made clear that Index funds are terrible investments Comment from : robert435230 |

My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless I’ve only ever saved($510k), never invested but want to start Comment from : CurateHub |

Key strategies and insights from the video include:brbrReal investing: Own businesses with consistent dividend payouts and ignore short-term market fluctuationsbrbrScenario thinking: Understand that recessions and other adverse events will happen, but owning good businesses will mitigate the impact of these events in the long runbrbrFocus on long-term investing: Avoid being swayed by short-term trends, market speculations, or the fear of missing outbrbrCompounding wealth: Adopt a slow and steady approach, reinvesting dividends and accumulating wealth over timebrbrBehavioral aspect: Develop a mindset that treats market crashes and recessions as opportunities to buy more shares in good businesses at discounted pricesbrbrIgnore the market: Concentrate on the businesses you own and their dividends, rather than being concerned with daily stock prices Comment from : Max K |

Market crashes are only opportunities if you have cash to invest, yet we are always being told that it's "Time in the market" that's important not "Timing the market" Comment from : konicky |
|
You also have a great sense of humour, Sven, like at 6:13 min, where you cross out the short-term investing approach😀, which you have, of course, also described very appropriately Comment from : Marie |

PE ratios won’t go down too much because today no one in his right mind would buy 30 year treasuries of 5 for example over s and p 500 of pe 20 Comment from : Random thoughts |

Can you explain earnings yield fully at some point? Comment from : FitLifeHacks |

I see a bit of a contradiction when it comes to value investing Some people (like Seth Klarman in his Margin of Safety book) say that you should buy "undervalued" stocks and sell them when they reach their fair value Others (like this video) say that you should just hold on to businesses "forever" So are there two types of value investing? Or does the second strategy mainly fit dividend stocks? Comment from : TheScaryGermanGuy |
|
