Stopped buying Expensive propaganda quarters being political Comment from : David Crawford |

How do you feel about the RedBook values? If you can buy silver sets for 50 of the published value can you make a profit selling to a coin shop? Is it best to just go by the melt price? I'm an hour away from any coin shops and haven't tried to sell any sets yet Any advice would be appreciated Comment from : Dwardo Dwardo |
The price just went up again! $130 and only 1473 troy ounces of silver in the set Comment from : RipVan Smith |
Yes, 2023 I will be my first time Comment from : Lip stick |
No, I'm passing them up at $105brI just recently got back into buying some items from the US Mint, after a gap of about 8 years I don't remember what I paid for silver proof sets back in 2013-2014, but it seems like it was about a third the current price And that was only 8-years ago Comment from : smart451cab |
Picked up 2 x 2022 (low mintage) proof and Silver proof sets :) Happy :) Comment from : Jim |
I paid $51 for my 2020 silver proof set and thought I was getting ripped off Comment from : billb89 |
I collected proof sets for many, many years and I still have them all I pretty much gave up because of the increasing prices Comment from : Dennis Level |
I stopped purchasing silver proof sets because of the $105 price tag These sets are NOT worth the premium price My last set was 2020 Comment from : vivatonal1 |
I got lost in your video What is the short and sweet "this is why"? Comment from : Dancers Collectibles |
You can wait until later when they go on sale instead of getting ripped off from the US Mint Comment from : Chai Charin |
The US Mint now has obscene profit margins for most items - like the Royal Canadian Mint People should stop buying all their stuff and let the Mint management know that they are there to serve the public - not rip them off or have items sold out before on sale or gone within minutes Pathetic Comment from : joy4118 |
its not a lot but the loss of a couple grams of silver and increase in price bugs me but i am still getting 1 set Comment from : Edward Morley |
I had the thumbs up button👍 Comment from : Dean johnson |
I still collect the sets and if prices keep rising i might have to change my mind soon Comment from : Richard Prescott |
I'm a fan of all the Mints Proof sets I really don't like the Mints handling of things but I like the Proof sets, so I enroll for all of them Comment from : shekatagani |
I am going to buy it anyway to give to my 1 year old great grandson By the time he is 18 it will probably be priceless Might go ahead and get myself one as well because when silver shoots for the moon it will be worth way more than $105 People pay high prices for jewelry so why not silver proof sets? Comment from : Farrell Maier |
This years set is 10 coins Last years set was 7 Three extra silver proof quarters same price Comment from : Little Lamb |
I collect and crack out silver proof sets, but from what I see, waiting a year pays off as prices do seem to come down a bit Proof sets now have 999 fine silver according to the US Mint website, so the 2021's being the first year could be more collectible especially if they run under 500k sets, but I'm still waiting a year or two to pick one up Good video, new sub!! Comment from : Len Here |
I’m not buying the silver mint proof set for 2022 The 2022 limited silver proof set is still on my list And I probably will get it Thanks for sharing all the details and great information ℹ️ Comment from : Wally’s trains and coin collecting |

No, way to expensive The silver set should not be more that $55 max shipped even less depending on the cost to make them which should be maybe $40 max You are better waiting and hunting on the secondary market eventually you will find a reasonable price Comment from : FINFAN |
Bought the silver proof sets when the State Quarter series was being minted Just too expensive for me Comment from : 900 BCY |
Hey SW! I hit the check to pause on the 2022 Silver Proof Set Like Gunny, I had already procured the 5 Quarter Silver Proof set As much as I love the products, the value is not there for me My opinion only Have a great weekend, and Happy Fathers Day!!! Comment from : James Bickel |
The price is a bummer I have proof sets going back to 1968 with only a few gaps I need to fill in I will but at least 1 or 2 of the 2022 sets because I want keep my collection as complete as possible and lately I've become a Kennedy fan That said, my enrollment is for more than I need so I will reduce it Comment from : sfkimrush |
I don't get the point in collecting anything that is mass produced and sold (at a price much greater than its value) just to be collected To me it is just as silly as buying Pokemon cards Can anyone explain this to me? Comment from : william grimes |
Crazy amount of money for the high silver premiums If everyone stops buying from the mint, maybe we could get silver proof sets for $6500 or better yet at $5900 The 2022 baseball privy mark, gold buffalo, silver proof set, proof set, gold 1 oz uncirculated are all still available on the mint website Alot of coins not being sold Comment from : R Addy |
I had an enrollment for 2 Silver Proof sets that I got every year This year after receiving notice from the Mint that my account needed to be in order because the enrollment would be coming shortly I turned off my enrollment along with many other items I am no longer going along with the Mint robbing the public without a mask and gun, Comment from : Robert Savage |
Hi, Wolv I have one on order I have been buying the Silver Proof Set since 1992 I did drop one of the two sets I was buying in 2017, and I have only been buying one set since bTYU/b Comment from : Donald in New Mexico |
The AWQs almost always sell on eBay for LESS than the USM overpriced price The same will likely go for this silver proof set it's just too much to begin with The clads are a better buy Comment from : Silver Buckeye |
Thanks for the usmint update Silver Wolverine! I also deactivated my proof set enrollment,no hurry or FOMO on these sets! I’m kind of excited that I’m not excited! Victory is mine! Peace-Outbr✌🏻-Out Comment from : M Ash |
I only buy special Eagle proof sets like Anniversary proof sets, reverse proof sets To high mintages for my taste For me anything over 1,000 mintages becomes to high and to many on the market for sale Yes the price is higher but worth every penny as not that many people can own them and normally appreciate higher in value overtime do to rarityI love proof coins because they aren’t connected to Silver spot prices and if silver prices goes down my proof coins didn’t😃 Comment from : themicmac88 |
I stopped buying them entirely back in 2018 Comment from : Kick Rocks |
Proof sets are for children Comment from : Stephen Bowman |
2020 was my last year Comment from : Frank Rosconi |
Another simpler way to look at it After my shipping and packaging costs, I need a fifty dollar bill for the AWQ set and a fifty for the Kennedy Comment from : Mickey Minsky |
I am a subscriber so I bought it I have every proof set dating all the way back so want to keep my collection 100 complete Comment from : Robert Hill |
It is a lot of money I did buy the Silver AWQ set Comment from : Aunt Laura |
When the year comes to a end they should stop selling them, maybe they should put a limit on how many they make, these are available on enrollment so that should give them a idea on how many to make Comment from : Jeff Shaw |
Way overpriced I bought them before the price increase Comment from : Jay Man |
Hi Wolvie The Mint still gets the Raspberry Award from me But I am glad I got the AWQ rolls - and that only happened because of YOU! 🦸 (That's a superhero emoji) Comment from : Lisa Simplified |
Excellent Video, I am new to the stacking and coin collecting scene Trying to gin as much knowledge as possible and I learn allot from your videos In your opinion/experience do the roof Silver Eagles in the individual black cases sell as well as the graded proof Silver Eagles? Comment from : Mike London |
Oh well, to each his own I am buying two Don’t really care about product and mintage numbers Comment from : Curious Relic |
Never ever buy coin setsbrThey have the poorest value returnbrProof coin sets are even worse Comment from : Bill Rundell |
FOMO yes I’m getting one Comment from : Big O |
PS, if the prices keep rising, I will quit them and save my money for classic coins!! Comment from : George Matthews |
Hey SW I agree, Probably will be available later without box/COA for much less than what US Mint offers to us lower tier customers Comment from : Dennis Duebelbeis |
Morning Wolvie, I will be passing on this set I went with the AWQ Silver & Clad sets Comment from : Gold Aztec |

I thought the price on the 2021 silver proof set was pretty high too but I did buy a roll of 40 silver Washington Crossing the Delaware quarters out of those sets bc I love that coin That wasn't cheap either Comment from : Ron L Hubbard |
I’m definitely not interested in the Proof sets I did buy a 2020 Proof set with the reverse proof nickel but I’m really not into collecting the proof sets unless there’s something special about it like low mintage or a special coin Comment from : The Aspiring Gentleman |
I started buying them in 2018 I get 1 per year I will continue I also bought a RCM silver proof set this year Those are really pricey All the coins in the RCM silver proof sets are silver, even the nickel I don't buy them based on silver worth, rather they are just part of a collection With proof sets, you can usually wait a few years and they will be cheaper But they also may be screened Comment from : Happy Hippo |
Quit buying anything from the mint The mint has priced me out of the market What you get for the money is ridiculous Comment from : Joe Little |
I am only getting 1 Silver proof set this year and I didn't purchase any in 2021 for obvious reasons Originally the 2020 set was $6325 so I bought several for the nickel Comment from : Dennis Sidell |
I won't be picking up this proof set, but I'm definitely interested in the limited edition San Francisco silver proof set this fall Of course it depends on what that set will include, and what the price will be, but certainly one to keep an eye on Comment from : 999 Metalhead |
Yes am picking up this years set However I’ve come down from several pieces a year to just one since last year I also agree the premiums have become outrageous and to compensate the least they could do is as suggested make less of them But greed is very hard to contain I know first hand… Comment from : Boris Buliak |
Wolvie The 2021 Silver proof sets are still for sale ( 6-17-22 / 30,932 )brare still for sale That $10500 price is just to high I use to orderbr5 Silver Proof sets Not any more GREEDY MINT :-)) Comment from : Rocky superstar |

Amazing for me the, the timing of this video is spot on I bought the 2022 Proof Set very reluctantly the main reason I have it is because it's on subscription or I probably would have passed I held my nose when I paid 105 buckslol Comment from : James Brown |
I’ve cancelled my enrollment for both clad and silver proof sets Comment from : GenXcollectible |
