This is precisely the misery forced on people so they could live a life, mill work in the 19th century was as bad as a prisoner of war camp in the 20th century Pay was terrible,health and safety non existent and labour laws never existed so employees could be abused anytime all the time, you were better off partly starving on a farm with not much money It was that bad 21st century immortality and automation will save us from that world of organised injustice ✌️❤️🇬🇧

Rich youve a love of comedy and history Wed be good friends if you were a shlub, no named shlub, like me Ive been in construction my whole life I love work and hate it at same time I love the idea of the american dream and opportunity but unfortunately the oligarchs have taken over all the mom n pop industries Hardware stores are home Depot and lowes Farms have become owned by big biz along with the few media outlets and medical industry The opportunity once available has turned into full time jobs that no longer pay a living wage In the 50s and 60s one man could afford a house 2 cars with a family of 4 or 5 There was a strong viable middle class Now 2 working adults cant afford a home 2 cars with one kid

I must say, I lived the dream After working for a government contractor refueling nuclear reactors I decided to find something that pays I started a carpet cleaning business After a year I doubled my income while only working half the hours Through the years I invested in residential real estate and finally opened a car wash which did well 23 years after I left my paid job I retired with a waterfront home, a boat, a sportscar and a nice condo in the Virgin Islands The best thing is I had fun doing it
