Comment from : @srijithps

@falcon048
Wow, been doing home theater setups for decades and I am today years old realizing that you shouldn't have a center speaker too far back if there is reflective surface underneath and ahead of it I just pulled my center speaker forward, flush to the table :D Never too old to learn new things!
Comment from : @falcon048

@mikeygrizz23
I have the def Tech with a bass radiator Should I still set it to small? brbrI am having issues with sounds It almsot sounds like a crackle

Hi therebrI got a problem with my center speaker Klipsch RP-504C II It sounds muffled and I can't seem to fix it It got plenty of space behind and placed to the edge of the shelf It's hooked up to my Denon avr-1700H and crossover is set to 60Hz Do you have any suggestions to what I can do?
Comment from : @michaelmadsen5077

@klg642002
TY for the advice, and congratulations on the channel growth
Comment from : @klg642002

@chrisruddy8406
Thanks for the video Why not get a smaller center like the Klipsch RP-404C II, if bass is supposed to go to the sub?
Comment from : @chrisruddy8406

@pokey5428
Thank you This is the best advice I've seen on center channel issues
Comment from : @pokey5428

@grommie
Stop the madness with more speakers in 1 cabinet It means more timing issues

@aussierob7177
The best centre channel is no centre channel
Comment from : @aussierob7177

@4uhash
Great tipi always let my marantz sr7012 level match but i could never get my front 3 sounding right,the center seemed it was drowning out the left /right speakers,now i know why cause they weren't level matched
Comment from : @4uhash

@jergernice1
spent a decent amount on a full paradigm system, big center channel, integra receiverthe center channel voice performance sucked so bad, i had no ability to help it in any way hated that system for that reason im sure now receivers have some sort of way to address this, but back in 2004 integra did not
Comment from : @jergernice1

@crw31399
With cinema 50, they got rid of small and large speaker setting Auto calibration set center, front left and right speakers to full range Would you change them ,if so what hz? I have klipsch 450c and rp250f
Comment from : @crw31399

@brab927
Best advice here is to buy the biggest center you can fit and afford
Comment from : @brab927

@redrock425
Got Wharfdale Evo 4 LCR The centre channel 4C made a huge difference
Comment from : @redrock425

@lassmirandadennsiewillja3943

Comment from : @lassmirandadennsiewillja3943

@rudzitsz
Very good tip to angle up my center channel speaker,wish I did it 10 years ago Thank you
Comment from : @rudzitsz

@virtuoosi7037
On my end, the channels are evenly adjusted with a decibel meter However, I dislike how in movies, during battle scenes, the music and effects are disturbingly loud compared to when the battle is over and the dialogue doesn't sound very balanced in relation to the noise
Comment from : @virtuoosi7037

@derekhoshaw3072
Do recommend the wedge to tilt up my center channel for better position on my listening position?
Comment from : @derekhoshaw3072

@hbtubman
Great advice, I built my first 51 system 25 years ago,now have an older denon,no hdmi to even adjust the center Chanel a bit louder,but tilted it up to ear level and helped a lot My wife he's the sub and getting older in hearing didn't help, got a new c3nter speaker, Boston, and is betterthe new TV only has hdmi,no analog to adjust denon,I'm a musician buy trade, and without letting the world sell me everything new,I'm bummed, I've had great stuff since 1999most of it was before it was even broadcast capital in the day
Comment from : @hbtubman

@Hoofer54247
Would you still recommend setting your center channel to small with a CS-9060 which has a powered sub-woofer?
Comment from : @Hoofer54247

@YoungBlaze

@MrJcalabrese1969
Hi Youthman I’m just curious about my setup in my family room that’s all off anything being center where I can place the speakers where I can get the best performance from them All of my speakers and subs are Klipsch reference series I have r41sa’s r820f’s r25c r51m r41m and 2 r12sw subs and my amplifier is a Yamaha RXV 3800 with about 140w per channel power output with 2 channel’s driven I’m just wanting to make it sound like I’m in a movie theater with very little room to make it work Any and or all advice from you is welcome brThank you for your time and and your help
Comment from : @MrJcalabrese1969

@Quetzalcoatl0
Great tips! Can't dissagree with anything
Comment from : @Quetzalcoatl0

@TheProspectVideo
I actually found it better with my smaller center (2 4” woofer and 1” compression horn tweeter to change it TO the Large speaker setting This opened up the lower frequency sliders in the EQ settings for it in my AVR and let me boost the bass which helps especially make voices feel more natural and deep
Comment from : @TheProspectVideo

@Mlock76
Thanks for the great video I currently use a definitive technology CS-9060 which has an 8" built in powered subwoofer 32HZ to 42KHZ, 8 OHM, 91db Should I set it to Large or Small?
Comment from : @Mlock76

@cired1
I have a Klipsch RP-450c and I struggle getting dialogue that is clear and doesn't sound like it's under a comforter However dialogue sounds incredible when I turn on Dynamic Volume, but ruins the rest of the sound quality I follow all the tips in this video What could be my issue?
Comment from : @cired1

@SuperDave7
I use my 72 system as all channel stereo
Comment from : @SuperDave7

@Breakinlife007
I believe at some point you had the SVS Ultra Center I have done most of your suggestions here and run the MC303 Mcintosh The center still performs just 6 out of 10 Did you feel this center was lacking in your setup?
Comment from : @Breakinlife007

@Greg-fz5hk
What acoustic treatments for the walls do you recommend?
Comment from : @Greg-fz5hk

@marvinmccray3585
I remember when you first had a 51 channel setup! Lol!!! Congratulations! Anyways, I wanted to know what Sound Addicted pads you would recommend for that RP-504C II speaker that you have
Comment from : @marvinmccray3585

@Battlewear
Very very helpful I wish my surround sound had that on screen setup like yours! Dang that would make life easier I’m running a older surround sound setup with a tiny center channel and yea, voices are so hard to make out I’ll do some of your suggestions and see if that helps! Thank you!
Comment from : @Battlewear

@007galaxie
Excellent video, thanks for the tips I have this same speaker and it's an upgrade from a budgeted one that I had earlier I'm going to lower my crossover frequency as I think I may have mine set to high at 120Hz
Comment from : @007galaxie

@purplex3700h
I added rel t5 subwoofer running high level now I have a large subwoofer
Comment from : @purplex3700h

@Analyzer52
I have a question about level matching with an SPL Meter I use to do that but I watched a few videos that suggested that you shouldn't as Audessey is adjusting the level based on how close you maybe to the speakers if you are not directly centered in the room So for instance it may lower your side surrounds because you sit closer to them than your LCRs and changing that with an SPL messes up the Audessey Calibration Is there any truth to that?
Comment from : @Analyzer52

@PratyushNobeen
Hey Youthman! Just a quick question: i saw in one of your videos you mentioned you saw some people having 3 center channels Is that something you recommend? Let’s say 3 identical center channels placed horizontally (one above the screen & 2 right under the screen) - thoughts? 🙌
Comment from : @PratyushNobeen

@Geerladenlad
Would you still want to set your Center channel speaker to small even though it has a built-in powered sub?
Comment from : @Geerladenlad

@stevenswall
If someone is shopping, it's important from the get go not give companies money for making center channels with poor horizontal dispersion MMTMM speakers should always be arranged vertically, and only really work behind projection screens at which point you might as well get another model like your L and RbrbrThe dispersion is important, but most speakers are fine left to right much more than verticallybrbrCan't stress this enough We shouldn't be buying center channels unless they are using coaxial drivers or have the tweeter above the mid-range driver
Comment from : @stevenswall

@dan70cutlasssx
Part of it is that the mixing of dialogue is not a top priority for sound engineers now That would be helpful if it was made a priority again
Comment from : @dan70cutlasssx

@freddieharb4503
I'm learning thank you I had no idea what Big vs Small speakers mean; appreciate that
Comment from : @freddieharb4503

@mikejames-drummerreginacan1386
great video thanks
Comment from : @mikejames-drummerreginacan1386

@matthewdavis5486
I absolutely love this guy Great tips, going to make sure my center is close to the edge when I get home!
Comment from : @matthewdavis5486

@daniellinnan6597
Did I see all your speaker levels in the negative dB?? Is there a reason for that?
Comment from : @daniellinnan6597

@SpiderMan-wt9fu
I use rew to measure my speakers The frequency response shows all my speakers at the same level When I use my spl meter and the audyssey level match on my denon it's different Which should I use?
Comment from : @SpiderMan-wt9fu

@DanRichardson
Honestly I've got a phantom center at the minute and I don't really miss it (with a TV anyway)
Comment from : @DanRichardson

@locobusters
Will adjusting the test tone levels remove the audussy auto calibration settings
Comment from : @locobusters

@tkcdac
A Yamaha has my favorite option to turn the "Front Presence" on These are two speakers over your Left and Right channels that are additional "center" speakers This originally was intended to allow a left and right dialogue shift, but it also raises the voice into the center of a larger screen This BY FAR, helped me increase the volume and perceived size of the center channel I wish all receivers had this option
Comment from : @tkcdac

@menacordero1
Hey, @Youthman Your SPL link doesn't work It is for a klipsh subwoofer instead Please fix it so I can purchase it using your link
Comment from : @menacordero1

@LarryGivens
i have a living room setup yamaha rxv6a i found that i could boost the dialogue from 0 - +3
Comment from : @LarryGivens

@HT_addict
I've done some of these tips just recently myself First was bring it forward of the table The difference was it made it more crisp Just bought myself some black door wedges to angle the speaker up I was using something white before and it ended up annoying me
Comment from : @HT_addict

@richarddoberstein8308
Good bye and good luck
Comment from : @richarddoberstein8308

@GeorgeD-dm8rz
I've got the same centre running yamaha rx2060 aventageI find changing settings in the parametric eq Putting up the mid range and bass Turing down the treble Better
Comment from : @GeorgeD-dm8rz

@peppersmith
Yup, the CC is very important In my living room which is the main system for movies But i hav 2 full range speakers 7 1/2 feet apart are angled to the center position and it sounds awesome I got rid of my regular CC and won't be going back Ear level is Key AWEsome, info🙂
Comment from : @peppersmith

@HT_addict
May I ask why people use the term speaker trim when it comes to speaker level settings?brbrThis isn't a word that I use myself as I just call it speaker levels And for those less knowledgeable they wouldn't know what it is
Comment from : @HT_addict

@trevormatt6663
My biggest improvements were removing it out of a cabinet and put it on topbrbrTurn off any of the amp effect settings, ie GAME or SCI FI in a Yamaha

@alliemonster8149
Another great video! Thank you
Comment from : @alliemonster8149

@wetcat833
All good advice but the main point of home cinema is watching Optimising the centre channel is at the cost of bad screen placement The centre of your screen should be at eye height I see too many screens on home theatre set ups placed way too high This leads to neck fatigue This is why low line tv cabinets are popular
Comment from : @wetcat833

@gregrichard9192
Great tips 👍
Comment from : @gregrichard9192

@phillipallen5564
some atmos mixes sound awful
Comment from : @phillipallen5564

@phillipallen5564
my cener speaker is fine but its in a cabitt facing up and it i cant do that though i need a new tv stand lol and i cant mount my tv but i can get a mountable tv stand the the cabinet is ruining the sound it is what it is with dolby atmos movies on john wicck the dolby atmos spakers are wayyyyy to loud even on level 5
Comment from : @phillipallen5564

@luisarps4654
You forgot one improvement You can activate dynamic volume to light or even medium to increase the volume without having too strong bass This helps a lot
Comment from : @luisarps4654

@johnnocanuck
This isn't about your center channel, but I wonder why you have two sets of front mains One set for music and the other for movies?
Comment from : @johnnocanuck

@frankallen3634
I refuse to get speakers for a 6000 dollar oled It has speakers and I'm using them, I'm not even willing to get a bar
Comment from : @frankallen3634

@Rahz743
How do you properly level match like what should the starting DB be of sound coming from the speakers? Cause as you know you can raise the volume up and down which can mess up results I’m not sure how to properly level match manually like what steps to take
Comment from : @Rahz743

@davidross7255
Hey Youthman! What is your opinion on a SVS Prime Center channel speaker? I'm coming from an Micca MB42X-C center channel It is 4-8 Ohms witbrh 100 watts of power I want to upgrade my speaker or should I get the SVS Ultra center channel speaker? I plan to purchase an Emotive Base 3 channel amplifier in the future Thank you and God bless
Comment from : @davidross7255

@19mati67
I have the same center speaker, but version I in the garage(HT room) ceiling pointing down There is no other place to place it 135" screen in front of the garage door
Comment from : @19mati67

@jeffjefferson7384
Solid advice I'd also recommend considering having identical speakers for the L-C-R channels, ideally at the same height and depth You can avoid a ton of issues that way, and it's sometimes cheaper to buy 2 pairs of good bookshelf speakers (gives you a spare speaker in case one fails too)
Comment from : @jeffjefferson7384

@Echo-jg8is
I think running the bass really hot, and most do nowadays, will have real bad affect on intelligibility too
Comment from : @Echo-jg8is

@michaeldoukas4444
Angling the center up made a huge difference It was straight at my knees before and it sounded good But when a friend suggested that a flat firing center wanst the best, and we angled the center up more, it made a very big difference All great tips
Comment from : @michaeldoukas4444

@Echo-jg8is
If I remember correctly 🤔😬 from 0 to about 2ms ( 0 to 2 feet) the brain is OK at filtering the reflections with no adverse effect, but from 2ms to about 6ms is where the brain gets confused and intelligibility happens, but after 6ms the brain interprets this as a reflection or space and such like 🤔
Comment from : @Echo-jg8is

@richmax13
Great Video!! Great Advice!
