I like this coin but a lot of people wouldn't even know what it is So many people don't like pre thirty three gold because of the short on the gold content Just like the pre thirty three double eagle it's not a full troy ounce of gold

1904 is the year with the hightest mintage about 30 of all Liberty Head Double Eagles About 1 million of them are i circulation To me, one of the most beautiful coins in the world I own one from 1895, one of my three very favorite coins

I started my gold buying a few years ago doing the 'rational' thing and buying harmonics, brittanias, maple leafs or whatever gave me the most gold for the buck That has now evolved into the pre-33 stuff with no regrets! A little more premium but a lot more history Most recent purchase is an 1873 $20 gold liberty eagle I can almost see the old west and the wagons in the street when I hold it in my hand!

I agree mostly, I'd take it a bit further and say the Gold liberty Head, or Indians I do not care for the St Gaudens Except High Relief, regulars look bland or flat imo
