i love this channel, it's just that i've been more poor since watching lololbrkeep up the great work! Comment from : Matt Smith |
What's the purpose of the fly other than shade and cover? Is it waterproof? Thank you Comment from : xWadi |
do you have to seal this tent? Comment from : TRT VITOR |
Hi, great review, as always Perhaps the difference in weight is due to the poles being DAC All-in-one Aluminum Pressfit instead of GhostBone Ballistic Fiber? Does that make any other significant difference(eg in wind resistance) other than weight-how important is that? Also, have you been able to test the rain-resistance yet? Maybe I'm blind but couldn't find the video Is there the same corded zipper pull issue with the Litefighter 1&2? Thanks and have a great day Comment from : Marek Horak |
The prices for these tents are absolutely ludicrousbrbrYou can't classify this a civilian tent while at the same time having a price a civilian can't afford Comment from : 360 Investigations |
Overpriced and heavy for what it is No snow skirt? Comment from : DDDSSDDDSSDDDSS |
One of the biggest differences is the pole materials The fido is aluminum, the litefighter 2 is ghosting ballistic fiber The civilian version (fido) doesn't appear to be infused with permethrin And I'm guessing alot of the smaller features around tensioning systems fire retardency and more arnt there as they arnt mentioned in the fido package Comment from : NatureBetsLast |

Hi ! My LF1 has 4 guy-out cords Even reading the (waterproof!) instructions, I'm still not sure how they slide and lock, and couldn't find info online either BTW, if you know what are these amazing cords made of let us know, so we can buy them like other paracords Thanks Comment from : Jorge Prates |
Ok it's a normal tent no different from my OEX jackel two this is also a four seasons tent with 5000 hydrostatic the poles are thicker than yours my guides are para cord the jackel is also a bit mor roomier with porch for cooking and has aluminium pegs it comes in two green compression sacks but isn't mtp colour it's plane green I like your tent it has a few issues but I prefer mine as I know it will support 10vforce Gail's and torrential rain as I found out in the pirinea Mountains in a supper storm I'm sure it is a good tent but mine comes complete with winter pack and much moore for probably a lot less mine cost £300 as a stand alone oex jackel ll is the ultimate for me as it has surpassed other tents I have owned in much worse conditions but nice tent I like good heads up Comment from : Stephan Pouls de la ford |
looks real nice Comment from : Gaius |
I love how you don't have to feed 50 feet of rod through a tight hole sleeve Comment from : Sonja orleans |
Good evening!brWhen are we taking this one out for a test? Comment from : Hunter_1776 |
Where is the test video on this bad boy!! Comment from : Dustin Macahonic |
I wish it came with a stove jack as well Comment from : Dustin Macahonic |
My Fido 2 will be here tomorrow and will have its first camp next month I'm ordering new corded zipper pulls that aren't tied What about the stakes? Are these good or should I get some better stakes? I was looking at the MSR Groundhogs but thought about getting the Litefighter stakes That is IF the FIDO stakes are garbage Comment from : Crumb_Trails |
It looks like almost the same design as my REI half dome 3+ minus the fly having less guy points and no roof vents and some other minor stuff It costs a lot more but the fido comes with that cold weather kit which is nice Comment from : project2ndgenspeed6 |
The best military tent available to civilians is the Australian Wilderness Equipment Space 1 - military edition Comment from : Patience OBon-go (of Niger) |
Thanks! Comment from : toprun95 |

A company that doesn't answer emails, that doesn't use the metric system, that is unable to inform in a clear and precise way on infinitely simple pointsbrDoes not deserve any attention whatever the quality of its products! Comment from : El Condottiere |

That tent ain't for me, and I'm not particularly impressed It's a tarted up budget dome tent that's overweight (9lb!!) and I'm guessing it's not all that strong in bad weather! Iv got 46lb tents that are similar design Comment from : john Farthing |
Tricky dicky Your mixing apples and oranges lier lier pants on fire Comment from : William Harmon |
FIDO is an old school acronym that stood for "F!@k It, Drive On" Comment from : The Real John Smith |
I use my ics for my motorcycle camping and it has be great All my gear fits in its vestibule perfectly Thank you for your recommendation Comment from : Michael Moore |
You can easily stitch and seam seal a short webbing loop to the edge of the side of the fly - allowing you to put a stake through the loop and pull it a bit away from the innter tent Does not look though that you will get a massive increased airflow Comment from : Buccaneer |
Thanks for the review Do you know if they offer the Carbon fiber pole instead of aluminum? The aluminum is hard to put away in cold weather conditions Comment from : bj231bj |
I run a MSR Elixir 2 tent Twin vestibule three seasons tent Similar to this, perhaps not as rugged, but small and 5 pounds Take it ADV motorcycle camping, and is awesome in +46 to pouring rain Can store boots/gear in vestibule(s) or cook in it during rain This Fido tent looks awesome, for four wheel camping perhaps? Looks bigger and heavier, but also sturdy Probably a great long term, many use tent? Great review I very much like the form, function, design and compression bag Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦 :-) Comment from : Bill McMeekin |
Would it be unusual if it's a tent used by a homeless?brBrand new? Comment from : Tropang Imortal Gaming |
A "civilian" tent and a "military" tent do not belong in the same sentence They are not even remotely designed for the same purposes No such thing as ultralight in the military, and you have soul-signed (slaves) working for you, and also very much uneducated Comment from : Travis Carpenter |
Instead of an overhand knot, tie a figure 8 on the ends Comment from : Mike H |
If the zip pull is 550 cord, tie the knot the use a lighter to slightly melt the knot Comment from : Racker |
Way too big and bulky there's much, much better on the market Comment from : Golden Mind |
Thank you 😊 Comment from : Robert Jackson |
Being made in Veitnam is the same as China 🤷🏼♂️ Comment from : Chris Waters |
Another excellent review Thank you Comment from : Joel Runtz |
I retie all zipper pulls using a paracord “snake knot” Lots of tutorials on YouTube on how to do this, but I’ve NEVER had these come untied Cheap, easy, reliable! Comment from : kayakangler76 |
This tent would be awesome for backcountry elk hunters! Comment from : Nick B |
Just put a lighter flame on the knots of the pulls Melt it just a tad and it'll stay in place Comment from : Joe Mac |
It's like $500 🤣🤣🤣 Comment from : Jeff Dur |
585,99$ Comment from : Pedro Claro |
Add a tarp clip to the ensemble to pull those sides out small plastic alligator style clips will add no weight or room Comment from : LS Swapped 80 |
I've bought 1 tent snugpak bunker 3 never needed another Comment from : Jonny wadd |
Super glue the knots and they'll never come untied Comment from : Richard D |
Those tiny cords; Super glue, Hot Glue, School Glue, Flex Tape AND Gorilla Tape All of them together It might keep em from going undone ;) Comment from : Copper Boltwire |
Burn the tips of the cordage and slightly melt them and they’ll stop coming untied Comment from : Adam |
Good review and good to see that you mentioned country of production for those who want to avoid made in China Comment from : Leilf Falkenström |
I usually replace all metallic zipper pulls with ones made from paracord and tie a knot at the end I secure them with liquid superglue that soaks into paracord and locks it Comment from : Eero Vuori |
nice review luke keep 'em coming :) Comment from : joe public |
A solution to the fly in the back is to use locking tarp clips on bottom seam and tie off the clip with some cord Comment from : Norman C |
Overpriced but gravy seals will love it 🤤 Comment from : turbomunch |

Merry Christmas to you and your family Comment from : Roy Paul Carter |
This is a three season tent And way to heavybrI wouldn't even consider this tent for winter use Comment from : Rino Hals |
My winter kit is putting my pancho liner in between the inner and outer shell Works surprisingly well Comment from : Frank D |
For the zipper pulls: How about the ones from Maxpedition (PZSBLK) or the T-Zipper from Evoc? Comment from : Paul Horn |
You can easily melt the ends of the rope pull cords together so that they don't untie Comment from : Tygeron31 |
Can you remove the obvious colour filter, so we can get a better understanding of what it looks like Comment from : anomaly P |
I’m surprised this sort of thing is “military” Here in Australia we use swags made out of tough, waterproof canvas which could also do 4 seasons but with having to add extrassets up in less than 5 minutes, vents for airflow even if it rains, waterproof AND your mattress, blanket & pillow are all rolled up in it ready to go The 23zero & Darche brands seem to be the “go-to’s” Once you’ve camped in a swag, a tent just feels like a plastic bag in the wind Comment from : Steve J |
Sorry I wouldn't use this in cold weather Here in Canada it be a 3 season Comment from : Grumpy Veteran |
good video 👍 Comment from : STGoatmilk |
Sequel to the Pup Tent? Hmmmm for those in the know would you understand If I awaited the introduction of the three man BOHICA model or the four man FIGMO version? Ha! I am cracking myself up! Thats FUNNY, right there! Oh waitthe one man FNG model! Oh Ohhhhhhh!!! Lukesorry, I hate when I get like this All kidding asideGreat channel and appreciate your integrity thru the years Crack on! Comment from : Fred Perry |
Man, this is so far beyond what they had when I was in the Army Figures, all the cool gear comes out after I leave Comment from : Editor |
Tents are nothing new The materials are the same thing they've been using for so many years Aluminum and fiberglass is dime a dozen brWhy does ensuring proper sealed seam and stitching come at a $400+ dollar premium? Don't get me wrong I spend money on REAL premium gear like the large sized Neotherm Xtherm Max priced at $280 after shipping each brBut the prices on these tents is just ridiculous for what it is You're paying 60 of the cost just for the name Comment from : Spushed |
Great review… I really like this tent design & originally fell in love with the lite fighter 2 but after researching I just recently got the 2p Nemo Kodiak which weighs 43lb… It’s the exact same tent as the Nemo Kunai but Stealth colored… for me personally I think I made the right choice going with the Kodiak but I do really like this new FIDO design it looks more spacious than the Nemo KodiakbrKeep the great content coming ✊🏻🏕🇺🇸👏🏻 Comment from : The Humble Hillbilly |
If it wasn’t for the price, I would buy a 2 person AI for each of my cars Comment from : Terry Webster |
If a person or persons camp outbrregularly 600$ is not bad for thebrall in 2 man tent!! Nice review Luke!! Comment from : Conrail Fan |
Too heavy for that price!!! Comment from : Mr Skeptical |
Thanks for the review and feedback, Luke! With regard to maximizing airflow, the rainfly includes 4 guy-out points at each corner (just above the nametape loops) to lift the rainfly off the inner tent and add stability in high wind conditions Looking forward to seeing the FIDO 2 in action! Comment from : LiteFighter Systems |
The weight is odd, I have the LiteFighter 2, complete with the cold weather kit and the upgraded carry sack, and mine weighs less I think it is in the poles, my appear to be carbon fiber, but I'm trailer tent camping at the moment and my backpacking tent is not with me I'll confirm all the weights and pole materials next week when I'm back Comment from : Daniel Hurst |
So what do you recommend for a heavy beauty car camping for person 10? 3/4 seasons Comment from : RJZ L Wop |
I'm waiting for the waterproof test before I buy one 👍 Comment from : Jason Alarcon |
🙂🎄 Comment from : pjccwest |
While I think that this is a heavy tent for backpacking, there are other things I might sacrifice and remove from my pack in order to accommodate the weight simply because it is so frickin' bomb proof brJust knowing that there is literally nothing you will have to do in order to fortify your shelter removes a lotta "What If's" from the equation, and it's hard to put a price (or a weight limit) on peace of mind This is especially true in cold weather camping where staying dry, warm, and out of the wind are of paramount importance Comment from : Mark Villano |
Lame Comment from : William Franklin outdoors |

watching from Philippines Im watching your videos Since 2020 Comment from : Maranao Mobile Legend |
Another up front review, what an awesome setup Comment from : nutthrower |
Nice one Seems like LF mostly sell their stuff in the US or is there a EU-reseller? brbrWould be great if you could include metric numbers for width/length and height as you do with weight 👍brbrKeep it up! /David Comment from : daal |
Luke, as usual, you da man! Comment from : Larry Melton |
