I have them both, and looking to purchase some that I don't have at this time, in the future Comment from : Eric McDowell |
I 100 prefer buying silver bars Because a 1 oz silver bar cost about $30 But a 1 oz silver round cost $40 or more I need to get the best bang for my buck, and either way once silver skyrockets, they are both 1 ounce of silver either way So I don’t think it will matter when 1 ounce of silver becomes tens of thousands of dollars per ounce in the next year or two!!!!! Comment from : ML7182 |
I prefer 1oz rounds because they are more like currency and can have really nice design I can also dispose of in smaller quantities Comment from : David Arteman |
If you're getting to 100oz bars, start buying gold instead Otherwise 1oz rounds, 5oz and 10oz bars, follow the same rule with gold Comment from : Andrew Kellerhals |
Give me 1ozt bars over rounds all day Comment from : Brett |
10oz bars are about the biggest chunks of silver that I usually buy If I'm going to spend more than that, I'm buying gold instead Comment from : Douglas Williams |

bought $ 9000 Canadian silver bars and dollars 8 years ago - it has went down in value - waste of time and $ - don't bother Comment from : David Sundquist |

I personally stacked more bars than rounds or any gov't coins, I heard they are more pure and I figured for the money I rather get more silver content Comment from : Harley1200 |
1oz I’m going rounds Any bigger I go bars He’s right rounds feel like money but the bars it’s more about bars just look cool 😂😂 Comment from : Richard |
Y'all didn't mention 5oz bars I like em, what's your opinion on them? Comment from : Charles Lilja |
Try selling a big bar when the price goes up by 3x Comment from : Edward Khil |
I stack as a backup and because i dont trust banks in general brI case we need something to trade the 1 oz rounds will be easier to handle just because people are used to round coins All other sizes will be better as bars brI like the mix 1oz rounds, 10 oz bars and 1 kg for good measure Comment from : Karl Krauß |
Rounds i agree it’s more affordable but I prefer the bars I just love the weight feel, the look Btw great video guys Greetings from Oceanside California 😎🤙 Comment from : SkyeLee |

Another line of thought It’s all 1 Oz when it’s melted Buy what’s on sale Comment from : L Priddy |
I like the rounds because it’s hard to take anything out of them undetected also the fact it closely resembles coinage, makes it more popular and the variety keeps it from being the same old silver different day Comment from : L Priddy |
Cheapest silver is best it’s all about AG, not ms70 or first day of issue or prettier rounds🤔🖖 Comment from : donald robinson |
Silver - 10 oz bars are the sweet spot for me Look for sales and preferably 9999 with a serial number, a pleasing design, low premium, still in plastic, encryption Wont always pick the cheapest but close to it Prefer govt minted brGold - 100 gram bars, low premium, 35oz a bar, secondary market the cheapest Its gold Who needs plastic High liquidity in any sizeits goldbrRounds are my last choice Comment from : chris h |
I'm also a fan of 1 oz rounds My main reason is that I also like to see the different varieties of designs Yes, I'm stacking silver, but I'm also collecting different pieces of "art" Comment from : Gregory Smith |
Rounds are for kids When times are tough nobody will want your buffalo or starwars ASE Maples Britannias 10oz RCM bars are king of liquidity Pandas? Really? Comment from : William Guy |
I agree, rounds are better for small purchases, but 10oz bars are good too, especially if you're making about a $300 purchase When you start getting closer to a 4-digit amount, you're probably better off buying gold I like Kilos, but you really have to be careful with those and look for deals Here is my list of assessment:br1 to 10 ounce rounds/bars - RecommendedbrKilo Bars - Sometimes Recommendedbr100oz Bars - Not Recommenedbr1000oz Bars - INSANE!!!brbrI like to keep it simple and thus keep my sanity 😎 Comment from : dukenukemani07 |

None of us would be able to figure this out without you! Comment from : Bradley Kaiser |
I only started stacking few months back so was getting 1oz silver rounds i like the brittiana as they have excellent security features i recently got a 10oz bar space wise is a lot easier to store opposed to 10 one oz coins, i have the stacking bug so will keep going every month silver/gold 😊 Comment from : Roy Harris |
I like both tbh Comment from : 49spfein9999 |
1 oz rounds to barter, 10 oz bars to stack Have both Comment from : Twain Conley |
A Lesson in Stupidity !! In 2011 (with silver nearing $50), I purchased a 100 oz RCM bar for $3,400, thinking I could sell it later for a profit Twelve years later, I'm still waiting Comment from : silver swan |

I go for rounds over bars, because of the shape really , unless the premium is crazy Mrs M loves the bars more, but they have to be gold for her :D Comment from : M&M Stacking |
I have a solid mix of both rounds, coins, and bars Bars up to a kilo, nothing larger Waiting on my new dragon triple 8 bar from Scottsdale Grabbed 2 of them 😁 Comment from : LdTush |

Sorry If I'm asking this in the wrong place But I am disappointed in the US Mints boxes Do you think they are durable enough to last when we pass them down to our children or grandchildren? Comment from : J C |
I buy from sdbullion and buy on sale as much as I can I bought a few kilos, coins, rounds, and bars, doesn't matter As long as it's changing dollars into silver or gold, I don't care The largest I have is a 5 kilo, and I only have onebrI do have a 100 oz monster box brI have more silver rounds than bars because I like the way they look Comment from : Dog-gone-it |
I prefer bars but since coins and rounds are nice so it doesn't really matter what I get now Comment from : TrueUltimate |
1/2 and 1/2 rounds and 10oz bars fit the bill Comment from : cee gee |

my vote is perth mint large COINS (1kg) best of both worlds Comment from : Andri R |
The perception of rounds is "money" The perception of bars is "wealth" Comment from : Cole Dedhand |

Liked the "back and forth" today fellas Sound finale Took me back to my beginning stacking Have enough constitutional, 1k rounds, and have been stacking (mostly) 10 oz bars over the last two years Still stack rounds though Hard to stay away from those buffalos though Comment from : bearhuntd |
I like bars, bars bars bars Comment from : bonsaibrian |
Outside of Austria, a Philharmonic has zero monetary value And in the US, Maples have zero monetary value So, if you're in the US other's countries coins basically ARE rounds, as they're monetarily worthless here They also get counterfeit more Just buy what's cheapest and don't worry about it Comment from : syberphish |
Im all about bars Have some of all, but bars Comment from : bonsaibrian |
I love your content and this video is particularly great, but the information you discussed regarding currency transaction reports is misleading The information is not sent to the IRS it's sent to FinCEN primarily to prevent money laundering Can the the IRS access the information yes, but they can access your deposit accounts too so it really doesn't make a difference Also, if you're intentionally avoiding currency transaction reports that is considered structuring and is actually a crime in itself Thank you for the video Happy stacking! Comment from : alexander kucinich |
LOve silver, but 90 silver is my fav Comment from : Bob Silver |
In California if I purchase less than $1500 in gold or silver or a mix, I have to pay sales tax brbrTo maximize my purchasing power I save and buy only when I have $1500 or more Because of premium being so high I buy mostly gold and use silver to fill my cart until I hit $1500 So far it’s taken just a few silver rounds Comment from : Kian |
kilo bars are really cool and can still fit in your back pocket 😊 Comment from : THOMAS DRELICH |
Why not do a video on the effects of state "sales tax" on stacking? Comment from : Buj Moose |
Until SE come down in price i get buffalo rounds Since i live in Texas im eyeing the Texas Mint 1oz bar Especially if Texas gets its own metal back crypto It maybe easier to use Texas Mint stuff in the future Comment from : Low-Key Observer |
Until I have enough of rounds stashed, I won't consider bars, however a few smaller bars in a mix until my threshold is reached, I will stick to rounds Thx for the video guys 👍🇺🇸 Comment from : Mike Ladley |
BTW that flag bar is the most beautiful piece I've ever seen So unique so cool Comment from : obbldude TV |
I had to watch a cat food ad before your video would play, but it was worth the pain Comment from : fin59shaw |
I like rounds though what are your thoughts on regonizibility when it comes to rounds cuz that's been my concern Comment from : obbldude TV |
I would also check prices and do not assume a round is always going to be your least expensive option SD Bullion and others run specials all the timebrAt the time of this comment (Friday June 9 at 9:55pm EDT) SD Bullion is running a special on 1 oz Austrian Silver Philharmonic Coin - Random Year for $399 over spot When I checked, Spot was $2448 making the Philharmonic Coin cost $2847 (Check / Wire) for any quantity and the 1 oz Silver Rounds - Design SD's Choice are $2867 (Check / Wire) Quantity 1-19 brbrIMHO I would opt for a Sovereign 1 oz coin if it cost less than a generic round Comment from : Al Antosca |
Bro side note I wish I could buy locally but every LCS i got to in my city everything is priced by JM Bullion prices not even SD bullion and these LCS' are charging the same as JM for BU eagles but your getting AU eagles AT BEST! These guys are screwing people so bad and guess what they are buying silver at??? SPOT NOT A PENNY MORE IDK I hear you talk highly of LCS' and I know there not all bad but if your gonna charge me BU prices for an AU eagle sorry I'd rather go to SD or even JM Totally put a bad taste in my mouth maybe I'm just overreacting but I've check 5 LCS' and it's all the same and that's all we got around here Idk nowadays to me buying online vs locally I see no difference at all Actually not true online still has way more variety and I get my loot within 48 hours most times Comment from : obbldude TV |
3:33 see I don't have a preference necessarily to me silver is silver but I also want it to be recognizable The last thing I would want is someone to question the legitimacy of my silver Maybe I'm thinking too hard on it but I love rounds but I can see that getting hairy possibly And the premiums on constitutional is just not appealing at all right now The only thing that looks good to me ATM is gold philharmonics Comment from : obbldude TV |
I'm a newbie stacker (less than 2 years) and it's been so much fun, learning about this bullion world, learning about different Mints, etc What I've discovered is that buying silver is addictive, lol! Do a video about that 😉 Comment from : Star Dust |
I’ve always leaned towards maples and philharmonics I have a tube of eagles- first tube I ever bought some kooks I just started getting Buffalo rounds and am looking into 10 oz bars I really like the maples… the design, the 9999 fine, they’re just very nice to look at Comment from : ryan _ |
SD, you bought silver buffalos a few weeks ago (from PIMBEX I believe?) that has a unique texture to it Almost like the texture of a gold buffalo coin Do you happen to know which mint made them? brbrWould love to order some but just don't lnow the mint Comment from : James Gallagher |
If we're going to talk about the psyche of it, for me there is nothing like poured or cast 10 oz or Kilo sized bars To me these feel like true pirate treasure For this reason I own no pressed bars whatsoever as those dont feel like treasure in its true natural form Comment from : Acadian Prepped |
Any of you would sell a 20 ounce silver bar to me? Comment from : David Garcia |
Silly question here, maybe 😂, why doesn’t the US mint do a buffalo silver 1oz, it does both the eagle and buffalo in gold, why not both in Silver?? Comment from : Rory |
Hey SD, how do I justify the shipping price on top of the premium? Wait and buy 5+ ounces at a time? I've looked around and about all that's available to me locally is pawn shops which are a bit sketchy imo Comment from : Booter Butler |
🐉 🐲 brI personally dig the bars for the weight aspect Comment from : Bullion Addict |
Lcs in Fresno Ca prices generic bars and rounds the same Rounds tend to have more designs I like though Really just an artist difference😊 Comment from : marc davis |
I have both and both can be faked However, I have far more bars than rounds Specifically, I like bars with security features of hollow-graphic images and serial numbers I have a Metals-Backed IRA and all my metals in the depository have Serials numbers brYesterday, I noticed on the Trust website that a 250gr Gold Bar was missing form the list I have the email from my online, bullion dealer listing the serial numbers for all the bars and I could tell the Trust the bars: mint name, weight, gold, & serial number It got corrected very quickly Comment from : Allen P |
I buy whatever is closest to spot, whether if it's a 1 ounce round or up to 100 ounce bar Comment from : JJ Catevenis |
Lcs in Fresno Ca prices generic bars and rounds the same Rounds tend to have more designs I like though Really just an artist difference😊 Comment from : marc davis |
Hi there guys, love your work 👌 To be honest i just sold almost $3,000 worth of 1oz and 2oz coins to be able to purchase my first couple of silver bars People kept asking why i am selling my coins for bars but personally for myself and the love of silver i just had to be holding the bars as i love to feel a big chunk of silver in my hands and I'm very glad i did The bullion bars i picked up were from the ABC BULLION COMPANY AUSTRALIA & the bars are actually 500g ( half kilo bars ) which i think is a perfect size bar to hold and treasure 👌 Comment from : The Silver Platoon 🤴 |
The only reason to get a 1000 oz bar is to melt it down for the resale Comment from : SupremeGingerStacker |
Why nothing on 5 oz bars? I'm split between 1 oz rounds, 5 /10 oz bars plus a few kilo bars Comment from : tbman56 |
if it's silver i want it dose not matter to me Comment from : Robert Rigby Jr |
So when selling back to a coin shop or online dealer, will you get more for a 1 oz Round or Bar? Which will bring you more over spot? Comment from : Off Grid and Outdoors |
