No chance you used large ice cubes in that shaker even tho you told us to! Comment from : chrisjordan213 |
Looks good! We like a little agave nectar in our rocks margaritas Kinda like your simple syrup in your frozen drink Also like Gran Marnier or triple sec or cointreau Each has a little different flavor But, as I am a drinking bartender here at home and making margaritas from scratch can get kinda time consuming! Here in Texas we have found that Republic makes some nice margarita mixes Classic, jalapeno, prickly pear, etc Some I don't care for, most are good :) Comment from : Rick Neighbors |
How do you get so much liquid? When I shake this in ice I barely get any liquid and its way to strong Comment from : About 47 T-Rexes |

4oz of tequilabr2oz of limebr1oz of agave nectarbr1oz of cointreaubrorage bitters to tastebrbrbrAgave nectar gives a little sweetnes and adds to the natural falor of tequila since tequila is made from agave thank me latter Comment from : Francisco Diaz |

As a bartender in nyc…brhere’s the recipe Skip the triple sec (Technically this is a “Tommy’s margarita” but I’ve worked at 3 bars and we all do this, no customer has ever asked about the orange liqueur This recipe is better and easier…brbr2oz tequilabr1oz limebr75 simple syrupbrbrHere’s a tip… don’t shake Roll In other words don’t put ice in the cup and the tin and shake and double strain back into the cup Just put the ice in the tin, do a light rolling motion (not a shake) and dump all in the glass By “rolling” and not shaking the drink still gets chilled and diluted, but not aerated and doesn’t get any little ice chunks Plus it’s faster, requires less ice and now you don’t to have to wash strainersbrbrRoll about 20 secondsbrAnd dump straight into the glass brbrSo yeah, do that recipe and you impress people Having a party? Multiple those specs by 3 and you do that twice and in no time you have 6 great tasting margsbrbrAnother tip… only salt half the rim That way if people want salt they got it and if not half doesn’t have itbrbrAnother tip Just never use triple sec orange liqueur Instead use either cuantro or dry curaçao as you orange liqueur (And don’t use orange liqueur in a margarita) Comment from : ba55letmysoulfly |

Okay Mistake #3 Let's go back Im following you now Comment from : sheryljeanne |

Awesome video! I'm a novice at making drinks; never made margaritas but now that I have a Vitamix and my friends are a little demanding, lol What portions of the ingredients would I use in a 48oz container and how delicious margaritas would come from that container, at a time? THANX in Advance Comment from : Michael B |
Thanks Brotha awesome Margarita 👌😋 Comment from : Antonio Toscano |
I use 1oz of fresh lime juice instead of 3/4oz stated in the video and it turns out to be the best balance for me Most restaurants and bars will add simple syrup to the non frozen version and it’s awful Kudos to this video for making me a fan of margaritas!! Comment from : Jean-François Poitras |
Could you tell me how to fill up a margarita machine lol Comment from : Jade Resendez |
To break your “only lime” theory, good bars are making super fruit juices, like oleo sacrum, which has yielded better reviews brbrA touch of OJ (less than half an ounce) gives it a bit more sweetness, and a lot more prominent colour, unlike just lime juice brbrAlso, ditch the simple and use agave syrup Comment from : bradkohl99 |
I will follow this minus the simple syrup I always find simple syrup and triple sec together to be too sweet Comment from : Tyler Darroch |
Lord, thanks for hanging in my heart where you keep my heart warm in Jesus name, amen Comment from : Kayla K |

Why not Grand Marnier ? Comment from : HootieHoo Gaming |

Nice, but I prefer using a great respasado tequila, I prefer Fortalaza, it gives it a nice Smokey vanilla flavor 1oz fresh squeeze lime, 1/2 oz Cointreau, And for a more slight sweetner, I’d use Agave 3/4 oz :) Comment from : TheGreatOne |

100 pure agave tequila can still be flavored with additives Tequila matchmakers has a list of additive free brands I think Tres Agave and Arette make very good inexpensive blancos perfect for mixing I've never had a triple sec that didn't taste like chemicals but there could be some Cointreau is the standard and very good but using agave nectar instead is very tasty too Check your limes before you start too My last batch was nasty harsh and bitter Had to trash them Comment from : LR Vogt |
Brett Kavanaugh with some Holiday weight Comment from : Ding Dong |
Well, basically, just DON'T make frozen Margaritas ;o) Comment from : David Cattin |
Roses lime juice is great Comment from : charlie kim |
Interesting he used Simple Syrup for the frozen but not on the rocks Always use an additional sweetener aside from Cointreau whether it’s Agave Nectar or Simple Syrup…a Margarita with only Lime Juice, Tequila & Orange Liqueur is going to be bitter as hell Comment from : Wa |
Dont u use blurcracao Comment from : forex rwanda |

Wow! Who taught you put salt on a glass like that? You should only salt half of the glass, and only on the outside of the glass, to give the person a choice Otherwise we are just in Amateurland Comment from : Tristram Shandy |
I’ve had three so far I’m going to bed 🤣🤪😴 Comment from : Old School Cop |

Watched this as I made a “ pre mixed margarita “ this was 10/10 thank you ! Pre mix is to sweet Comment from : Raj R |
I love the fact you are using a vitamix, and I do like to use agave nectar for sweetener Comment from : Gary S |
I made my first margarita in my Vitamix unfortunately all I have is margarita mix at the moment but my preference would be simple ingredients but I ran out of simple syrupbrbrWhen I made it though I ended up with a lot of slush as opposed to I'm more liquid consistency I think I need to use a little more liquid or a little less ice when making my drink in the Vitamix Comment from : Mike C |
I think he didn't use enough lime Comment from : jen s |
I use almost the exact proportions you use I use 2 parts tequila to 1 part each of Cointreau/triplesec and fresh lime juice Great idea to use a lime to salt the rim The only thing I would add is that I freeze my glass ahead of time That accomplishes 2 things First, it keeps everything colder and helps reduce ice melting Second, I love a really cold, but not frozen, margarita A frozen glass gets me exactly what I like I’d never drink a margarita from a bottle for exactly the reasons you mention Comment from : Tom Stansbury |
Actually, a real aficionado knows that salt doesn't go on the inside of the rimbr It will end up in your drink when you tilt your glass thereby altering the taste brto prevent this issuemake sure to run the lemon on the outside of the glass only Comment from : delinquense |
I want a margarita NOW 🤤 Comment from : Nataly |
Needs a little agave syrup Comment from : Gerald Brienza |
You got a thumbs up from me for that slow-mo scene gg wp Comment from : Zermie |
I only got 50 seconds into the video before turning it off Using 1800 tequila is a HUGE mistake Cocktails are a relatively new phenomenon dating back to prohibition, (not counting punches of course), when juices and flavoring were added to liquors to hide the strong and unpleasant flavors of bootleg alcoholbrbrAdding a liquor meant to be sipped straight to a cocktail is the same level of sophistication as adding Coca-Cola to a fine wine and calling it Coke-au-VinbrbrThe cheap tequila would make a much tastier drink Comment from : Kyren Thang |
I put my blender container thingy in the freezer for an hour Put ingredients in it at last minute following your recipe Nailed it! Really good Funny, that container thingy now stays in the freezer Thanks 😃 Comment from : ms22401gal |
Everything was almost right except for the ounces 15 oz tequila, 5 oz cointreau, 1 oz lime juice, 1 oz simple syrup or agave syrup A standard cocktail has 125 or 15 oz of liquor and a double is 2 oz 3 oz of liquor will be too strong for most people Comment from : Milo |
Why simple syrup in the frozen margarita? Comment from : Sdroobl CU |
Love good margaritas ! Hey, if anyone is wanting to open a bar, I just designed my bar on build a bar app Check it out ! Comment from : Dallas Acuff |

Not using fresh ingredients is a HUGE mistake That rule is at the top of my list Comment from : Hey Bartender! |
For frozen buy you a margarita machine add 1 bag(2lb)of Lasco Lime mix, add one 175 tequila El Destilador, and use Grand Marnier instead of triple sectop off with water until it reaches 2 1/2 gallons mark in the machine Wait 3 hours and you will have a Margarita that is equall if not better to any Margarita in any Mexican restaurant in Houston Comment from : Scott Blanchette |
I'm an old geezerbut when I was bartending, last century, we used egg whites in the mix to create froth And a dash of Roses Lime Juice I see you don't use egg whites either br😎 Comment from : fastnbulbouss |
Frozen marg is brain freeze in a cup Comment from : Andre Larmond |
Frozen Margaritas are a mistake themselves Comment from : Chris Mathis |
Don't use margarita mix if you're using a crappy one yes if you're using a decent quality sounds like it's not bad I'm using zing Zang and it tastes really good Comment from : Cathy A |
100 agave so much better and it does not burn I used to like the cheap stuff Margaritaville tortilla Montezuma I have learned the hard way do not do it spend the 15 to 30 bucks on a decent bottle it's probably cheaper where you live because I'm in Pennsylvania and alcohol prices kind of stuck here but trust me go for the decent tequila Comment from : Cathy A |
