This is the last great Super Mario game to be created I LOVED LOVED LOVED how the creators focused on collecting coins!!! Super Mario Odyssey was forgettable rushed to market and while I enjoyed Super Mario 3D Land enough to recommend buying the game it's not great The Wii U versions weren't fun to me but I am unable to put my finger on why that is I'm starting to regret selling my 3DS because it carried so many memories

It's a great advancement from SMB3 but there's just something too easy about most of it all Stacks of goombas look more intimidating but it doesn't actually much contribute to harder levels or more fun Opportunities to make something slightly more impassable are given up for just putting more coins behind the obstacle instead so the reward isn't beating the game but just getting more coins Just looking at enemies that can't really hurt you isn't interesting; the game feels more like a show where the background changes but there's not much to solve or do Even the giant fish level seems like you're keeping him as a pet instead of actually being threatened of being swallowed whole brbrThere's also a huuuge amount of coins being thrown at you to the point where it's almost insulting Presenting invisible coins or putting them in bubbles doesn't make them more interesting either I don't think that's a fun balance It would be nice if they made another New Super Mario Bros with at least a mode that brings up the difficulty level from the start, like longer flames to avoid, fewer blocks to merely walk over the challenging portions, fewer levels that are cleared by just running full speed and tapping the jump button More like puzzles and moments of strategy, tension and even confusion Ending up with 200 lives at the end not from secrets but from just playing it seems like a clear indication of a poorly balanced gamebrbrThis is a beautiful but sadly more mindless Mario game Seems like a wasted opportunity! Although the polish and beauty are nice
