Best advice that I can give is to complement coding with another field of study Pure coders may or may not still be in demand but if you branch off to other areas that might even be related, you'll more secure brbrI learned to code but studied mechanical and electrical engineering I doubt AI is going after my job in the near future It can be anything Use your imagination on what you think may be in demand Comment from : K S |

Thanks buddy Comment from : Okerri Favour |

Thanks Chris I've been one of those wondering if learning web development is even worth it It's great to hear such positivity from someone in the field Comment from : Karabo Mamabolo |
|
Of course it is worth it to learn how to code now more than ever! It is just different because it has become a bit more difficult Companies will now require understanding of AI and it is not the easiest thing Either way, I'd say, everyone knew this was coming Some want to act surprised, but the talk about learning machine learning and more has been around for 20 years Comment from : Rafael Mateo Dev |
|
Don’t be discouraged by news; news by its nature is negative Demand for programmers and tech will always be strong Somebody has to architect, somebody has to take ownership, somebody has to review & approve changes It’s just working at a higher level of abstraction, like OOP i the aughts I think programmers underestimate just how little most people want anything to do with code Comment from : Bicycle Ninja |

5:02 - That is the single most powerful sentence I have heard on YouTube in a while That is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT true - I can testify to that, I graduated last year and I am already working on a massive application that I am building for a company all by myself in NET using C# Stackoverflow is a thing of the past for me, ChatGPT is the best tool I have had in ages, I use it like a "manual" and has increased my productivity tremendously as a programmer! I am starting a study in September for 6 months to become a front-end developer Although I read and see all this AI scare all around me, I believe we are all needed in the coming years We are at the beginning of a new wave, like there has been many other waves in tech through the years Just learn to balance on that surfboard, work on your abs and posture, do some yoga and you”ll be alright 😄 Comment from : Jasin |

Im here to give some advice as a nontraditional (age 50) year old software engineer who after 25 years of being a preschool teacher went back to school after a three year hiatus to just recouperate myself and go to school AND has a criminal background (not willing to discuss it due to the pain and trauma I expereinced from it due to the fact I was forced to take a plea deal even though I was geninly not guilty but the so called jusice system is about getting convictions not helping anyone but to put aside the sterotypes and lingering questions no it had nothing to do with my previous career) Im here to tell you the following brbr-you wil NOT JUST get a job right after bootcamp it doesnt magivcally appear in front of you brbrbrwhat people here dont understand is that coding bootcamp will not just GIVE you the job, yes its garunteed, BUT you also have to put in some work As the old joke goes:brbrbrJohnathan needed to win the lottery, so he went to God and prayed and God told him you will indeed win the lottery The next day he went to God and complained about not winning, so God told him sure you WILL win the lottery This went on for months until his house was about to be foreclosed He went to God and blamed him for not winning the lottery and lying to him Gods response was short and sweet: You have to buy a ticket first brbrbrwhile searching go for a CS degree in a LEGIT school, your bootcamp experience will help you graduate MUCH faster and leigt schools are where FAANG companies and companies like IBM, Micrsoft, look to for internships Yes you can get a job faster (no more than one year ) BUT doesnt mean again if you dont put in the work you wont get it brbrbeing nontraditional does not matter, I am 50, I got my internship with leap(microsoft) after graduating I was a preschool teacher for over 30 years, I would hve NEVER been able to get what I have now AT ALL as a preschool teacher, ie working remotly, working without having to worry abt gender discrimination other than skill and experience brbrbr-dont just make linked in and just make random connections TALK WITH THEM!!!! thats what networking is about, dont and i repeat DO NOT lose touch with them and just reach out to them when you need a job loosing connectiins is the best way to lose work brbr-GO TO SCHOOL not just a bootcamp this is how you get intersnips WHILE learning which builds expreince brbr-work on the latest technlogies, learn about them learn to love them as an older person you have NOTHING to lose brbr-get a degree in not just CS but combine it with psychology, mechanical engineering, or electrical enginering with teh abundance of online learning platforms like legit schools like ASU, OSU, Stanford etc really, why are you complaning??!brbryes cHRIS is young but his advice is sage Comment from : P S |

I always wanted to be a teacher but I realized how stressful it is being a teacher In Texas, teachers get paid little and not only that, they get mistreated by students, parents, and administrators I am not saying being a teacher is bad but for me, a person with anxiety, it's very scary I even had some former teachers of mine telling me to not become a teacher but become something you feel comfortable Comment from : Hylian Nerd |
|
I don’t want to say you are delusional, but you should consider salaries outside of your local region If you aren’t on the coast, salaries are much lower It’s a lot of being a whole IT team for less than half of what you make in Cali Comment from : kos37ter96 |

perhaps he can pursue another role in Tech like Cloud administrator, Cloud Engennier , HelpDesk ( some people love it) , Ntworking ( is still relevant) and various cybersecurity roles the salaries are still good and working in medium to small size companies is not that bad , also this can lead to government work if you want more stability in your future Comment from : Rigoberto Contreras Castillo |
