This video was far too general to be meaningful at all There is a big difference between stacking bullion, building type collections of older or modern coins, and collecting coins with significant rarity value such as 1909 S VDB Lincoln cents or 3-legged buffalo nickels The value of such things as investments could be determined with research, but lumping all of numismatics together won't tell you anything useful

It is a hobby It is not a great investment I see dealers buying coins in decent shape and most use in the US the Greysheet which prices them quite a bit below retail brbrBullion has greater liquidity but don't hope to get your money back in the long-term except in special cases brbrReally the coin hobby has the potential of being investment if you hold them for the long-term but would be, if it were a stock ,a rather higher risk one There are intermittent cases of what was once a scarce or rare coin become scarce or somewhat common after a large hoard is found or releasedbrbrSo I agree with your video completely --- and yes you end up have some money put aside At worst, you will receive face value or a few cents And often a coin collection can be a good cushion - my family's collection while modest in value ( a few thousand) still served as a nice cushion during a health crisis

Are you really thinking that folks buying old coins are expecting them to appreciate at the level that the 1933 St Gaudens has attained? I think any normal person who sees a coin sell for $22 million is going to figure out there's something very, very rare and special about that coin I'd doubt they're going to think the 100 year old quarter they just bought is going to bring them millions in the near future Cmon

Ironically I was cast aside when I suggested having a 10 to 20 percent investment in precious metals as part of ones portfolio years ago What I find interesting is you do see a influx of individuals come on to YouTube around the highs Personally I like the comfort of knowing if my wallet is empty one day I have a back up as well as a hobby collection to keep to hopefully pass on I find it fun finding obscure coins to collect and share Hopefully I can find one soon that’s worth sharing to the community Keep up the videos numi!

Really great video and some lovely coins aswell,brI started with bullion silver and moved onto higher premium silver before selling it all and changing to gold (I just couldn't be done with milking and toning) I bought quite a lot of proof gold for grading and done really well with the resultsbrI sold them all and now I only have a few graded coins left and have moved onto bullion full and half sovereigns with the odd RM new release

Good content I think there are some coins we can overpay for because of the need to get that for your long-term collection but overall you save alot of assets u would have just wasted so I think it is a sort of investment as u realise what money u could be spending on more coins or bullion lol
