In the 90's, I ordered a few pennies from a novelty magazine that had stamped things on them in the same spot as that one One set had a heart with "I Love You" inside it, one set had a cigar coming out of Lincoln's mouth, and one set had a pipe coming out of Lincoln's mouth I still have them somewhere Comment from : Zantara |

They're novelty items made by private companies that took ordinary pennies and stamped JFK's face (or a pipe or flowers or a shamrock, etc) onto the front They were sold as novelties but like Beanie Babies the market got oversaturated Today the only ones that are worth a premium are if they're in a complete set attached to the original packaging Comment from : Poisson Volant |

I remember back in the 80's those were being sold in 25 cent gumball machines and I also saw them sold at a museum souvenir shop and in little corked bottles (the one I saw was glass) at the Columbus zoo souvenir shop (similar to a ship in a bottle) Some were on cards, others not There are several pennies out there with different things stamped on them similar to this I have one of these kissing Kennedy's somewhere Comment from : believe it |

These "Lincoln Facing Kennedy" pennies were made by private companies mostly in the 1970's that took a normal penny and stamped a portrait of President Kennedy facing President Lincoln on the front of the coin They were normally attached to some kind of card that listed the "Astonishing Coincidences" between the two presidents
