@leptitecran9067
Passive learning is boring Active learning is the best to learn something I guess At university, when teachers give us exercice and ask us questions/opinion, it gives skills to search/learn/try/ask/do/practice Good subject for this video ! Thanks !

I’m a little bit curious about how we can ascertain students would read textbooks and understand concepts before classes In my country, most students don’t take preview assignments seriously How can we deal with it?

@kellyyork3898
This technique does not always work in all settings and in all disciplines all of the time For example, in the arts and writing classes, sometimes you need to work alone However, school leaders will often latch onto one or two popular teaching methods and expect teachers to apply this method every day to every discipline Also, school leaders will often pick and choose teaching methods tgat suit their own particular learning style instead of looking at which teaching methods are appropriate for different subjects

@kernkompetenz8793
my computer science prof tought a lot like this Also, everytime as student came up with an idea thats wrong, he didnt say "thats wrong" he tested their ideas against other ideas and challenged a deep understanding of the topic He never really explained, he showed us
Comment from : @kernkompetenz8793

@areildreimhenituse2767
This is why having a good instructor is important Half assed professor will not only make the students bored, they will also lose motivation since the instructor isn't explaining it properly

Comment from : @rain_jen257

@darkmoon2744
I dunno if passive learning should be ditched to do instead do active learning It would help to elaborate there because why for utility matters more than improvement reasoning

@SpeakWritePlayinEnglish
I've noticed that active learning encourages students to think hard and understand topics quickly It was kind of difficult at the very beginning, but they have realized they have improved a lot in a couple of months

Comment from : @simrann

@tigerlee9613
That's why it's important to have work and life experience Once you have work and life experience, the classroom theory makes a lot more sense, and the information is retained better As you would be able to apply that in real life
Comment from : @tigerlee9613

@ljk20001
Also requires the right teacher's/instructor's skills to organise an effective active learning class
Comment from : @ljk20001

@Goldzwiebel
i haven't had any good experiences with active learning the teachers often gave up after 1-2 attempts We students were overwhelmed when we were supposed to study this way for the first time and were too shy to discuss something with our classmates I think we were only 12 or 13 years old at the time government funding for these training courses was quickly discontinued because of such problems there was no time to try out this style for a long time the curricula are too big for that
Comment from : @Goldzwiebel

@axelsprangare2579
If you're a great passive learner you'll be an even greater active learner

@hebudileep6177
Active Learning in classes would mean teachers have to put in some effort to engage a class and work with the students In essence, a happy classroom The process becomes efficient over weeks thanks to neuroplasticity and compounding knowledge, making the job easier But instead of that they'd rather keep the class quiet and in check, 'disciplined' (or should I say suppressed), do all the toxic atrocities to 'manage'(should I say control) a student, waste effort achieve nothing, be incompetent and unproductive, for some job satisfaction and feel miserable all the same ; idiocy at its finest
Comment from : @hebudileep6177

@KofelinaPL
Never worked for me lol
Comment from : @KofelinaPL

@rizasid

@pawog04youtube3
My grade 8 class was an at least a semi-active environment I still remember that call pretty well and what we learnt, although it has been some time now It truly does help to engage students somewhat I miss that with 90 of my math teachers, non were as good as my 8th-grade math teacher
Comment from : @pawog04youtube3

@shenjiebao2876
my first-year physics course uses active learning I really believe this works since the form is too novel to me, I hardly ever forget anything from the course! the understanding of the material is definitely another level it is hard at the beginning, but after I became adapted to it, this course becomes my highest course among courses this semester Other courses are not using active learning
Comment from : @shenjiebao2876

@jleonard2987
Hmmm Seems like "Active Learning" is similar to "Hot heat" or "Wet Water" In other words, I wonder if we're fooling ourselves into thinking there is a dichotomy between "learning" on the one hand and "active learning" on the other
Comment from : @jleonard2987
