I read what other people replied as well As for the "trespassing", I really don't think that applies here brThere are so many houses that were abandoned because the entire family died from disease, with no one to inherit the property, or it was abandoned because the whole house was contaminated with a devastating plague-type illness I think that there would also be possible that one of the parents died & the other parent was so grief stricken that he/she couldn't bare to live in the same place that his/her loved one passed away in, but wouldn't sell the place in case the family would be able to overcome their grief enough to move back into the house brIn cases like that, there is no surprise that the home was left alone If the children were unaware that the house was still theirs, had forgotten that the house was owned by their family, or they couldn't bear to move back into the house because their grief was still too much, who among us can fault them for their inaction?brAt the very least, Dave gave them all a reason to look at the house & belongings once again brAs for all of the people who said that you would keep the money without at least attempting to locate the true owners shame on you all! I completely approve of what Dave did when he went into the abandoned home Contacting the true owner(s) so that they would know what he/she/they had was definitely the right thing to do As for not taking anything other than pictures, what a wonderful person he is! While I realize that, in truth, most people are honest & true these type of people get a little over shadowed by the few people who are just plain badbrWhat I don't understand is why the people left all that money behind If they had all that money, why did they abandon the house with all those antiques behind as well even though the original couple had died? Why weren't the inheritors interested in at least looking inside the home to at least decide what to do with the "wind fall" on their own, instead of having to be "encouraged" by a total stranger to discover if there still was anything in the house that were momentos of their family history? Discovered the same type of stuff that I have?? believe it or not my friend told me about this abandoned dead guy's house and we found antique coins and atleast $4500 (unsure because we split it) of old stacks of bills with dates and amounts from the 60s and 70s with everything still inside and coats of dust, a forgotten treasure at it's best!
