I would really recommend everyone to stay away from these backpacks I bought the 70l one and packed it 11kg which would be a perfectly ok load for a pack this size, it wasn't even full As I was lifting it up, i heard the stitching tearing It also doesn't hold the straps setting well, unless it's packed very lightbrbrAll Lilly says it's true, but this is not made reliability to carry 10kg You will risk being in the backcountry with a broken backpack that you can't carry on your backbrbrI got a Gregory traditional hiking backpack and although the straps are smaller and looks more Fragile, it isnt It's a whole other level of durability Even comes with lifetime warrantybrbrI too love the design of these mardingtorps Mine open the whole front, it is much easier to pack and unpack than s top loader But they are just not quality products

So, I have a Mardingtop, bought for me by my brother It is a 65+10 L almost identical to the second pack Lilly reviewed but with the two detachable side pockets, the woodland green colour is really nice It has a lot of Molle and cinch straps as you can see, which is sort of handy but does add to the weight, its a little heavy but does feel like it will last Mardingtop are German but yes, they are made in China There are a lot of things I like and somethings I dont Being a designer I get frustrated by small careless details and have written to Mardingtop but had no response, customer service does not appear to be great There is a nice diagram under the head with survival instructions

If you want something better it was a good price I suggest do US Marine Corps genuine or GEN two assault pack something like that if you can get it in your country or order it from our country somehow someway that’s what I suggest

LA Police Gear sells some really good quality Backpacks at a reasonable price…they aren’t the lightest packs, but they are great quality and they stand up to heavy and hard use!!

I've moved away from brighter colors for hiking backpacks as well It seems kind of rude to have loud colors in places where people are going to get out and see nature If you're climbing Mt Everest I get it, but not a normal hike I do like black though, because it dries out a little quicker if it gets wet but the sun comes out later

The ALICE rucks especially the large, are very cheap Also, the PLCE, and the LCS-90s which have a detachable Patrol pack, are relatively cheap as well I should have known better than to get rid of my ALICE ruck?!?! Aghhh!!! Sorry, couldn't resist

So finally got the second pack in, you mention getting pouches on the side, I added 2 usmc filbe sustainment pouches to the side of mine, the only problem is the bottom molle loops don't attach to anything if you want access to the bottom built in pouches If you don't mind losing those, or making it slightly more difficult to access, you can loop the bottom around the strap that holds the bottom pouch shut

Having OD green clothing or backpack can be dangerous in the woods here in the States Hunters have shot quite a few people who wore only fabrics that blended with the surroundings Orange and other bright colors are advisable, especially during the several hunting seasons we have That said, many hunters still wear camouflage patterns

Nice review! A cheap bag is fine for strolling to a weekend campsite But you will want to get something nice for long distance After the first few miles a cheap bag will really bite youbrAlso, maybe looking into a lavalier microphone Improved audio will go a long way for your videos brWell done :)

I hear ya on colors of backpacks , I have around 10 backpacks all have a different purposes , some are for Back country skiing out of , some are for hiking , Bug out , MX riding , truck packs emergency etc but I like the earth tone colors too , olive drab or coyote brown for every thing now I like to keep a low profile out there in the woods you should just paint some of your backpacks too , it works great , I have done a few in Cammo style OK my 2 cents thanks for the video Lilly !!

Totally understand your point here since many brand-name products are made in China anyway Still, I'd rather invest in a very good quality & reliable backpack that's made to last I once bought a German made backpack and of course it's a bit pricey Yet, it has been with me all these years Incredible Basically it saves my life many times over I consider it my best friend and it gives me kinda peace of mind that whenever time comes, it's right there for me and it's reliable

I have a backpack made by Sandpiper of California and got it at the base exchange near where I live and purchased this one because the company made the packs used by the US military and the price was cheaper than getting one from other sources It cost me less than $8000 dollars and the quality was the same as the ones issued to soldiers

KEEP IN MIND - your personal backpack should ONLY contain enough WEIGHT to allow you to CARRY IT A backpack with too much carrying capacity is useless, if you are unable to shoulder it and trek with it Also, overly large packs are BULKY, and make it difficult to pass thru heavily wooden or jungle terrain

British Army surplus Bergen backpacks can often be found for relatively cheap, and they are excellent quality One of the features I like about them is the two side pouches detach from the main bag and can be attached to a yoke to make a much smaller backpack, if you don't need to carry as much gear
