I hear Mickey Rooney made the maximum every year for every year he was alive after the program began, something like 70 years or so Don't know if that is true or not, but it easily could be true At the very least, I'm sure he had 35 years at the max Comment from : James50 |

😅Oh Devin, if only I had met you sooner 🙂 I recommend you to all future SS Recipients And even to FRA Recipients because all is not lost for those of us at FRA’s who chose to receive benefits before FRA, read on…brbrIf you’re over full retirement age (FRA) there’s still hope that you can increase your monthly benefit if needed brbrAt age 66 (FRA) I went back to work, contract work, but always as a W2 employee (They contribute to my SS and I can take advantage of their 401k plan)brbrUnfortunately I only recently learned about the option to Suspend Social Security once reaching FRA I went to SS local office in November 2022 and they did not know about this option I gave them print out from dot gov site about this, they researched, completed paperwork and my last SS check will be December 2022 It will automatically restart at age 70 or sooner if I make a request brbrSuspending SS will result in an increase of 8 per year until age 70 So for me a total of 20 My 87 COLA will be postponed until after I resume my SS benefit, the advantage being it will be applied to a higher dollar amount benefit brbrIn 2021 I made $63k, in 2022 I made $180k, and in 2023 I expect to earn approximately $100k and after that I’m not sure My 2021 through 2023 annual incomes will replace years where I made less than $15k per year That’s difficult for me to determine how much that will increase my SS benefit but I know it will somewhat brbrI did create a spreadsheet based on my DOB and using the applicable PIA and AIME and I think I’ll get very close to a $3k monthly benefit at age 70, it’s currently $2116 per month Bottom line, you really need an expert to figure that out for you brbrThanks Devin for the service you provide! Comment from : Rua McDill |
This guy only talks about maximum earners and totally out of a slower people's category I don't think he can help any of us He acts like it's so easy just to increase your social security income 😳 Comment from : Lana Dart |

With your knowledge, would you consider writing a letter outlining fixes and emprovements to SS that interested followers could copy and send to their respective Congress members? It seems like the top fixes include raising the income cap & increasing payroll taxes It could be very impactful Thanks for all you do Comment from : Steve Wayne |

$3,000 a month puts you over the $25k cap Doesn't that now mess with your benefits and SSA will take out the overage? How does that work? Is there special circumstances if SS is your only means of income to avoid the cap? Comment from : Roy Exploring The Philippines |

Low earners are given highest benefit, the assumption is they are poor How does SS system know low earners are not very wealthy, it doesn't Comment from : Just Forfun9140 |
Well the real world don't add up to your graph I dare you to prove that someone can go from 22K a year to 100K a year in 40 years in the straight line like in your graph, or prove to me that the average worker in the US can make that kind of money in 40 years of work I certainly haven't done it and neither did my wife, nor have many other people I know who are considered middle class Only through smart use of our finances and investing have we been able to have a 7 figure retirement fund The only "lower" income people you are talking about had very well paying jobs who moved around and got even better paying jobs because only the top 5 of people ever make 100K a year so they are not considered low income workers Comment from : Joepacker |
Devin: Single people are given a lot less attention, while they have most to lose, couples benefit the most If you make a separate workshop for singles that would be great Single people cannot designate a beneficiary, if they die early all employee and employers contributions are kept by the SS system, whereas couples are given tons of options to maximize SSI whether they deserve it or not Comment from : Just Forfun9140 |

I AM BEING CHEATED OUT OF MY ADULT INDIVIDUAL BENEFITS AMOUNT DUE TO FAILURE OF SOCIAL SECURITY TO GIVE THE CORRECT CALCULATIONS, WORK HISTORY SOME IS NOT LISTED, SOCIAL SECURITY REFUSES TO SEND MY WORK HISTORY, and A LONG STANDING SEPERATION, SO EX HUSBAND STILL GETS HIS FULL BENEFIT PLUS MAYBE A PORTION OF MY 45 YEARS PLUS PAID INTO AIME I FEEL SO CHEATED OVER ALL THE YEARS I WORKED AND PAID INTO MY AIME SAVINGS ACCOUNT WORKING AS A WOMAN LABORING JOBS, OFFICE JOBS, AND INDEPENDENT SELF EMPLOYMENT JOBS, SOME simultaneously Comment from : Deb Fassbinder |
NO way a 23 y/o starts OUT making $25k / year Comment from : Charlene Sanders |
I am currently collecting MY SS from my working Its 220000 According to SSA, I can claim survivor benefits from my ex-husband when I turn 71 According to the wizard at SSA, by that time that 50 rate will be higher than mine and I will just slide from my account to his How does this 3k affect me? Comment from : Claire Wyndham |
Yup I am retired Starting my SS in January at 62 With the inflation boost I will be just shy of $3,000 per month Comment from : Teams33 |
Devin: I'm 72 now, but my mother lived to be 99 1/2 My maximum income was about $72K, yet I get a $3k/month benefit Of course, I filed at 685 years, was NEVER self-employed, and with the recent COLA increases, I will approach a $3200/month benefit for 2023 Sure makes retirement easy! Still have a mortgage, too However, will have everything paid off by 2032 in case the Trust Fund goes bankrupt It can be done! Comment from : Bob Johnson |
I would feel like I hit the lottery with that much money! I am very sick and disabled and have been collecting Social Security and SSI for almost 20 years and I'm not making it as time goes on it becomes more and more difficult to try to survive on a total income of $860 per month I live with the fear everyday of homelessness I wake up everyday wondering is this the day that I will be homeless and will I have enough to eat I noticed that you talk a lot about people who are at the top of the Social Security income but you never speak about those of us and there's a lot of us who are at the very bottom collecting the absolute minimum like myself I would like to hear about those of us collecting less than $900 and if there's any way at all to increase that amount My social security benefit is $430 per month and my SSI benefit is $431 per month I get so little to live on that I am exempt from paying taxes! This is horrific it's not right it's not fair our government should be taking better care of us after spending a lifetime working and putting into the system Comment from : Ruth Cavanagh |
What about if your on Social Security Disability and your not even 50 can you get this also? We deal with the inflation as well😳🙄😒 Comment from : SKY C |
If you earned the national average salary in your working career, I don't see how you could reach that level I read that the national average SS is somewhere around $1500 If you retired earlier than your FRA it is probably less This is good for those who were making big bucks for most of their career Comment from : Steve Farris |
Right time? What if you don't live that long? You assume people will live well into their 80s Possiblebut statistics kinda debunk that You also assume that people will earn well over$100k/year toward thelatter part of their carreerswhich is also un-true People can work a lifetime at their jobsbeing good at them, tooand never earn much over $50K-$60K/year Comment from : jason60chev |
I just turned 61 I was shocked to see that at 70 I'm due to receive $4,000/mo and my wife about $2,000 That's 72,000 in social security alone and I suppose it will be higher 9 years from now I'm not sure why people complain about this system Comment from : Trader Tom |
While I appreciate your giving us this Information, my guess is that Social Security is going to tell you it's a scam so they don't have to give you any more money ! We as TAXPAYERS, should be getting this Amount of $$ ANYWAY because they stole all the money from Social Security and they've never given it back and that's a felony so if they had not stolen all this money , those of us seniors who actually need $3,000 to live on in this day and time would have it ; we shouldn't have to beg , we should not have to figure out how we're going to get that money to live on IT'S SHAMEFUL Comment from : TexasStardust |
How can I unsubscribe from your videos I no longer wish to see them Comment from : Captain Nitrous X |

Question i trade contracts on stock market is that consider income Comment from : Big Silk |
I'm 68 and waited two years until 68 to start SS, and that got me over $3000 per month My income was above average but not close to the maximums So waiting until beyond Full Retirement Age (66 in my case) helps a lot if you can use other savings to tide you over for a while Comment from : mike corpus |
I worked my butt off my working career and I will get over $340000 a month Don’t complain if you are getting a small amount Comment from : Tony Benton |
That income amount is SO FAR OUTSIDE NORMAL it's ridiculous Most of us without a college education have not gone above 60K which incidentally way above my own income of 35K Comment from : Carol J |
I think you all need to re screech this Comment from : Mary Jane Haney |
