So percentage wise, that’s less than 1! It takes a lifetime of hard work and dedication to get to the pros, and there’s a lot of odds stacked against you So do you really think with all that hard work and dedication and all those odds against you that you shouldn't get paid a lot? Money has ruined many aspects of the game (talking about football), you have these billion dollar owners who simply have more money than the local fan chairman's of the past, one argument is, it is ridiculous someone makes £100k a week for essentially 90 mins of work in the match, in a game they love and isn't mentally challenging or world saving However another argument is if someone is willing to pay that much can you really blame players for saying yes to life changing money Really Sports run their own economy, it doesn't effect governments (unless FIFA is involved) and so teams exchanging money with each other isn't funding a war somewhere in West Africa, Michael's argument is correct, if owners and league organisers make so much off the game, it is only fair the people that provide said entertainment get a share, like movies, the film company and producers provide money to make a profit and actors get paid a lot because they are why the film makes as much money as it does Yes I feel sports athletes are paid too much in comparison with other jobs but if someone is going to pay you that much, you aren't gonna say 'no I don't deserve it'
