For future earnings beakdown videos, could you report on Bank of America (because of the increase in deposit outflows from the major banks and an increase in deposit inflows at more regional banks) and Delta Air Lines (because I just love the company and the industry and I just watched your balance sheet for beginners video ;) and you used DAL as the example too)?

Operating cash flow- look at the difference in income tax paid - 8bn swing- that explains most of the increase in operating cash flow

Great content as always! It should be noted looking forward (near term) that Ruth Porat, in the earnings call, stated that they weren't able to deploy some of the capex that they had expected to this quarter In the quarter ahead, they will catch up and deploy it So we saw a higher than expected FCF number partly because capex was less than they actually wanted But next quarter, we may see capex temporarily bump up, and maybe FCF will take a small hit as they catch up on the plans they weren't able to move forward with this last quarter Doesn't change anything about how I view this investment, but still noteworthy

operating cash flow jump was due to the savings from income taxes that is not really due to a monster jump in google core businesses google cloud alone is indeed impressive but does not change the margins by a lot in this Quarter What would be interesting is to double check MSFT Azure revenue, profit to predict AMZN AWS earnings next week For Goog, i am expecting a spike of price past $130 at pre market or at opening tomorrow But as more investors see the balance sheet cash flow properly, expect some selling to close below $130

Thank you Daniel Upon deeper look into the cashflow statement, the significant boost in operating cash flow came from net income tax, which went from negative 4 billion to positive 45 billion (a difference of 85 billion) Is this some accounting magic or deferring tax for later?

Daniel, I appreciate your exuberance for the big cash flow reported However, the big swing was in accrued tax liability There was a footnote on the tax line Without looking it up, I'm sure an announced unfavorable tax policy has been reversed and so has the 85 B accrual The real cash flow is not much different than you would expect The number will stand no doubt, but it will not be recurring in future quarters most likely

I think you missed the important caveat The Operating Cash Flow and FCF is elevated due to difference in Income Taxes deferral The delta due to Taxes deferral is around 85 Billion (4073 + 4451) Google was able to defer taxes to the fourth quarter of 2023 due to California Tax relief (mentioned the foot note) I believe they did this due to high interest they can earn for the cash
