Is the true-up credit paid on a one-to-one basis? Also, between the true-up credit and SREC payouts, is there any real downside to oversizing your solar system in PA? Comment from : @kevbo423 |

You post is a year old and yet very apros pos to me We are in the montains of California We currently pay 32 cents/kWh for electricity and if we had solar, could only get 4 cents per KWH from Pacific Gas and Electric, the corrupt, price gouging, monopolist, cartel that is the overlord of electricity in Northern California The PG&E mafia has pushed a rate hike of 13 cents/KWH through, so our electricity will soon be the most expensive in the country Given high interest rates, we can’t finance solar right now But soon! Thanks for the info on how your Solar credit system is set up! Comment from : @freeheeler09 |

SREC have a sunset You cannot sell them for Life they're only available for a few years It would be better if you included in your calculations the cost of acquisition and installation That would tell the real net loss story You didn't factor in the government tax credits either Even so, a huge net loss story Comment from : @mcecordova |

Lol A man named Steve Comisar sold a "solar-powered clothes dryer" for $3999 Once he received the money, customers were mailed a clothes line Comment from : @ouranacondahome |

Ok, so considering this Where would I start on picking components or educating myself on the hardware? Comment from : @mickeymallette2663 |
|

Did I understand that correctlyyour house uses about 20,000KWH in a year? Sounds like a lot (I'm using 11,000 in SE Virginia in a 2800SF home) We recently installed a 106K solar array on our roof and my area of interest has shifted a bit as I better understand our energy usage The annual11,000KWH we used cost about $1500 total But, looking at my Toyota 4Runner, which gets about 19MPG and I drive about 16K per yearI'm spending about $3400 on gas at $4/gallon So the savings potential is much greater in offsetting energy usage for the car vs the house And that's just one car So, we have an EV on order that will soon replace my 14 year old Toyota and I'm looking forward to an earlier payoff as a result By the way, I was totally unaware of the SREC credits until i got an email asking me to sign up shortly after the install this past April Bonus! If climate change was such a pressing real issue, we'd want homeowners to have these everywhere and provide massive incentive for people to get them But without some sort of battery storage, solar and wind are fickle and a nonstarter Comment from : @sendmechecks |

Great video and thank you for breaking it down! Our solar production has been great in our first 3 months so looking forward to seeing where we land after 1 year Comment from : @makeitwill |

This is super awesome! What do you think about a DIY horizontal geothermal heating system? I think it uses so little power that it can heat a home in the winter using only the power generated by solar panels, at least during the day Comment from : @justin_time |
