With coin collecting you really have to educate yourself before you sell It can take a long time to learn, but that’s the fun of collecting I’m sure there were a few good finds in there he didn’t realize he had And he sold them for face value… I would’ve loved to take the time to go through everything

the coins in the packaging that are just"face" are worth wayyy more than facebeing UNcirculated!!! look at pcgs or ngc and itll list uncirc coins for 10's to 100's or even thousands of dollars if i walked in the shop while he was trying to sell that stuff i wouldve offered a better price on atleast half of it

The shield nickel I bought one and it was a 3 over 2, it cost me $8 to buy but is worth around $700 - $1000and this was from a coin shop in the junk trayits amazing what you can find in anyway places
