technically speaking and not logistically speaking you can bring in coined USD $9,99999 in gold coins and the face value is the value of the coinage, not the value in gold, which is what you can turn around and sell it as in Chile The Gold value is much higher, $162750 per $50 100 oz fine gold liberty coin Conceivably you could each bring in legally roughly 325,000 in value minted as 50 dollar coins for under 10,000 valued as the customs would see itbrbrLogistically I would only do this at a private airport and not with some commercial airline or with TSA or whatever customs and security they have brbrAnother way would be to get gold or silver, melt it down and machine it into something that looks conspicuous like metal saw blades or whatever it happens to be, and ship them in a container, but thats also logistically difficult, risky, possibly illegal, but youre simply dealing with the worlds largest criminal organizations anyway aka banks/governments So you do what you think is most reasonable brbrAnother thing you neglected to mention that is more in line with this talk is banking reciprocity Certain banks like Barclays, Bank of America, Santander, etc are in actuality basically one bank, and they behave like that for account holders Bank of America and Santander probably have a reciprocal arrangement, these vary and it requires you to call your bank and figure out how to do it There will always be some kind of fee, but lots of times with BofA you dont have he ATM fees with Santander ATMs brbrIf you do gold or silver you would have to know someone you can trust to convert itbrbrAnother weird thing is that in touristy places people apparently love $2 USD If you take a wad of those you might be able to actually make money on them Comment from : Tyler Hargrove |
