it's not a matter of " cold air " escaping when opening your fridge Having actual mass that can retain it's coldness ( actually resisting absorption of thermal energy ) is what helps the refrigerator be more efficient I keep the freezer packed but you should leave at least 1/2 " gap around the edges to allow air to circulate and to allow proper defrost cycles More thermal mass means you rely much less on having "cold" air in the fridge to maintain efficiency

I bought a nice full size natural gas grill and use this to make ALL of my meals on it You can even use it like an oven if needed I haven't used my electric range in over a year 🤔

The tip on using off peak hours actually helps the inviorment here in Copenhagen This is bc alot of our power comes from windmills and u cant store the energy from them So on off peak hours a lot of their energy goes to waste where in the peak hours we have to power up the coal plants :)

I live in 3 bedroom of 1300sq house I don’t use my central heater / AC small heaters in each room , one small Unit AC can cool off our whole house We don’t use dishwasher During Christmas we light our Christmas tree with on and off self-timer Our December bill Was $329 can you imagine if I use all the appliances?

One thing that annoys me with dishwashers and resources is the attitude of owners The actual thing is they say a dishwasher uses less water However, the person saying that will leave the kitchen tap running while rinsing all their dishes and stacking them in the dishwasher I can't see that saving water No, I do not have a dishwasher (obviously I'm not in America) but I have lived in houses which have had one

11/12 - or use an air fryer! I use my air fryer almost exclusively and very rarely ever use my actual oven It’s faster and uses much less electricity

i think using diswasher machine is a waste of energy, most people in asian country washes dishes manually - using your hand and using organic washing dish soap and using loofah scrub or coconut huskbrbri also think there many layers that we have to go through when talking about saving energy because often it tangle with other subjects like saving water For example using low flow fauchet reduces the need to pump water thus reducing the need for electricity (pumping water from the home reservoir or home well) both saves water and electric and your monthly bill Designing natural flow of water using grabity reduces the need to pump using electricity, designing grey water to be reuse for plants watering also save water n pumping water just to water the plant i mean there are lotsof things that we all can improve

I totally struggle with the laundry machine! We workout outside and our clothes need to be washed same day or the stink just doesn’t wash out But we always use cold water! We have a brand new washer so luckily it is pretty efficient and uses very little water as it always senses the size of the load It doesn’t even have a dial for load size!
