I’ve run many different brand and model trail cams over the years ranging from $28-$200 My go to cameras that actually hold up and last are the tasco cameras All others have stopped working after 1-2 years The tascos I’ve had for 3 years and 1 I leave up year round I have 5-6 right now and plan to get at least 15 Comment from : Justin L |
Great review! thank you very much!! Comment from : Alan Haime |
Just bought 3 open box Wo sports on eBay for total cost $68 because of your review Bought 60-acre wooded property Previous owner warned me about some neighbor's trespass Want to stop right away so everyone knows not tolerated Ask me first Comment from : gundog |
Great video Comment from : Pablo B |
First one and second one are good, that last one I would be trying to get my money back Comment from : Whispering Outdoors |
We can take turns pulling that target and get some practice shooting our bows ! Lol jk bub! Comment from : Whispering Outdoors |
I got 10 of these tascos, they take good pics and last a long time on the batteries! I noticed that when you set it to take 3 pics the last 2 pics per trigger are darker than the first pic so I just set mine to take 1 pic every 15 or 30 seconds! For the money and for the amount of thieves around here this cameras the way to go! Comment from : Whispering Outdoors |
i wish you would have went to a 100 feet distance, all cheap cameras will detect out past 10 yards the best cheap chinese camera i tested will go to about 27 or 28 yards so i bought 2 of them Comment from : your momma |
You've been my go-to tuber for trail camera reviews Some questions I always have, but rarely get answers is - especially specific to individual models is: How high did you mount your camera to get the images you share? What is the REAL maximum distance at which a particular camera sensor will trigger from motion from your experience with said camera (advertised sensor distances aren't always true)? I won't be using my cameras for scouting but rather to catch my neighbor when he is vandalizing my fence lines and harassing my animals I don't have many trees to use so unfortunately will have to resort to posts and poles Suggested height and distance maximums would be a game changer Regardless, really appreciate your thorough review videos and gallery of wildlife! Comment from : Hilary Hargreaves |

One thing deer do not walk that fast They may if something spooks them Comment from : Basil Key |
I have several cheep tasco Cams and they work great for the price Don't use the video Not good Battery's lasted 3 Months Lot's of photos I have had one out over two years with an external battery and solar Still going strong got mine when they were $25 Comment from : Basil Key |
Thanks good video I wish you would have tested the battery life I also have the Tasco camera for over a year despite eight batteries the battery life is pretty horrible on that game camera Last maybe a month or two, versus my Browning which last nine months to a year With that said for $28 at Walmart I would probably buy another Tasco Thanks for the review Comment from : Deer Rudy |
How can a camera (HIAO) that doesn't work win any category? Paying $25 for something that doesn't work isn't a win!!!!! Everything about the HIAO camera sounds & looks repulsive Since it had audio, maybe the animals you can't see could announce who they are I've owned 3 of 8MP & 1 of 10MP Tasco trail camerras If they didn't stop working over time, I would have more of them None of them currently work Still searching for a dependable, affordable camera if anyone knows of one Comment from : Driftless Hunter |
Nothing better than the real thing! Those deer were convincing, Dave Walmart now sells the Tasco 12MP cameras for $2888 Same price as the 8MP a year ago Comment from : James Vatter |
I love the music score!brGrace and Peace Comment from : mpdjr77 |
Gm I just got my 1st camera Its called Game Trail Camera Lol brI just have 1 quick question After you set up your camera do you just go back and change out the sd cards after you set them up? Comment from : Do 7he Math |
I just uploaded a video with the tasco Comment from : nv wi |
Really great information and nice to see all the pros and cons Picture quality and ease of setup is important 💯❤👍 Comment from : Arielle-Viking Venturer N Victuals |
Well done bud ! I expected the tasco to be the best of the three but I was surprised at the wosports trigger speed Excellent comparison thanks for sharing Comment from : tubbyguyoutdoors |
HIAO is the worst of the 3 cams My pick would be the Wosports Mini 12MPbrGreat review on all 3 trail cam Comment from : Dans Food Forest |
Tasco is a good inexpensive camera, I been saying it for years For the price, you cant beat it and they are built like little tanks The downside is they don't like the lighting at dusk and dawn I think the camera cant make up its mind if it needs the IR to come on or notbrGreat review and comparison Dave, I enjoyed it Comment from : My Slice Of Heaven |
One of very few you tubers I believe what they say Thanks again Hunting Farmer, I like how you do your own things Gods speed to ya and your family 👍🇺🇸 Comment from : Joel Mcmahan |
Great review! Don't know about that Hi-HO camera! lol! Very interesting that the rope-a-dope buck didn't trigger the camera Makes you wonder how well they would get a person wrapped up in multiple layers on a cold day! ( trespasser?) Maybe another test for ya Comment from : The Lost Woodsman |
Good day eh!!! Wow Dave, this was a great review of these cameras and pretty helpful too for someone like me who is interested in trying a trail camera but not ready to spend a bunch of money on one just yet!!! I agree with you the Tasco seemed to be the better camera The Hiao camera sure wasn't worth even the little amount that it cost!!! Thanks for sharing and take care!! Comment from : Grampies Workshop |
Tasco for the win That was the best use for bailing twine ever Comment from : Huntnfishnuts |
Good side-by-side comparison, Dave I guess the one good thing about the HIAO is that you could make some pretty wild videos with it Let me think "Polar Bear Spotted on PA Farm" Something like that should get lots of clicks, and although the viewers won't be able to see diddly squat due to the image quality, they won't be able to definitively say there WASN'T a polar bear 💁♂️ Just trying to come up with something positive about that camera Comment from : Father & Sons Fishing |
Another great review, thanks A budget camera is attractive but not if it is poor like the HIAO When you did the walk test I was disappointed that you did not have the deer under your arm lol Comment from : Garden Tractor Boy |
Great review Dave!! I think if I was looking for a cheap camera I would get the Tasco! Comment from : Section 8 Outdoors |
The first two cameras were definitely a step up from the third I bet those deer were wondering what in the world is going on when you're pulling that decoy across the field in the wagon Comment from : Minute on the Mountain |
That would be under $44 up here, I'll stick with the cameras I have, nice test though Comment from : Wildlife with Pete |
The Hiao is definitely crap! Like The Tasco though Great review Comment from : Timber Hill Outdoors |
Thanks for providing us some great information about these cameras Comment from : Squirrelly Acres Family Camp |
Very cool trail cams Thanks for sharing this information with us Take Care Comment from : Unpaved Explorer |
I like the Tasco but all those budget camera made you look like you lost some weight Lol I like this review Comment from : Senior Hiker 77 |
Send the video and picture samples to the Chinese who made that HIAO camera Completely unacceptable Comment from : Martin Mack |
Good stuff I am starting to get serious about the ideas of using some trail cams around my property Moved into the country Comment from : The Angry Atrox |
Helpful Thanks Comment from : Fishfearme Studios |
Great comparison, Dave! The Wosports definitely had the best trigger speed and it's compact and comes in camo but the Tasco may is a little better in picture and video quality Thanks for sharing! Comment from : MADHUNTS Adventures |
Great comparison of some of the least expensive cameras I don't think I'll even used that HIAO camera even if I get it for free, lol Comment from : PUREMEAT PURSUITS |
Clever testing scenarios, which really illustrated the differences of the trail cameras I agree with your assessment that the Tasco was the overall winner But I also think the real lesson was steer clear of the HIAO camera! "no farmer project is complete without baler twine" - True That! Comment from : Daves Hunting, Shooting, and Bushcraft |
Personally have 2 of the wosports mini cams and I like them a lot for their price! Comment from : Texas Hollow Outdoors |
Big like wow so beautiful wow 💖💖 so good lovely ❤️❤️ my best friend ❤️ Comment from : Tofique with cooking |
Interesting, these are very affordable Thanks for sharing 👍 Comment from : The Bible Train |
I’ve used the “Walmart” tasco few times it’s good for a cheap camera I did notice that feild of veiw was wider with the tasco You are the trail cam man 👍 Comment from : bkbowhunter1 |
I do agree the tasco is a nice camera for the price Comment from : John Ames |
I think I'd go for the wosports camo on public is just a little bit better throw some lithium batteries in there and it should last awhile very cool video with quality comparisons Comment from : Goltine Outdoors |
Great comparison video! The Tasco and Wosports were close, but I agree, the Tasco was just a wee bit better Comment from : FitzYakin |

This is a good video bud Well that one is certainly garbage Those other two both do a pretty fair job I might look into one of these myself Comment from : Shasta Valley Outdoorsman |
I use 40-60$ trail cameras and they work amazingly Comment from : xxitactical _ |
