@bridgetdoman1386
Learning something, Maths or otherwise, is much easier when the how is explained well and in simple terms along when given ways of remembering formulas/ae I found this many years ago when coaching someone for their Maths O level and devised a way of helping them with tangent, sine and cosine Just basic stuff as I'd only got to O level myself a couple of years or so before

@yodaami
Factorising cubics, can’t you just keep putting values for x in like you did for the first bracket? Seems like it’d be faster than algebraic long division?

@thatguy3886
Why do such basic things have such complicated names? Like i have done the law of indices and surds in like 8th grade and i just remember it as like ohh yes you have to just add the power
Comment from : @thatguy3886

@peteneville698
At 22 minutes talking about factorising quadratics and discriminants - it's not strictly correct to say there is one root if the discriminant is zero - you still get two roots, they just happen to be the same and are coincident points on a graph Further, when the discriminant is negative you still have two roots, but they are made up of a real part plus or minus some multiple of the square root of minus one which we call "i" (or "j" in engineering) - at A-level I don't feel it is correct to ignore this whole branch of mathematics by simplistically dismissing the concept of complex roots with real and imaginary parts Far more consistent to say that an "nth" order polynomial always has "n" roots , some of which may be real, coincident and/or complex
