Hey @TargetFocusedLife Hoping I can get an opinion from you on this I'm looking at getting a new shotgun in an atypical gauge bec I have some 12's and 20's Mainly for upland, some clays and perhaps a trip to the duck blind or two But my question is between 16 and 28 what reason would I have to choose the 16 other than just because? When I look at the shell offerings from someone like boss the 28 seems to have a little more versatility and even heavier payloads than 16's are offered in Plus for field work I can get something like the Ethos is a gun thats even lighter than any 16 gauge Just looking for your 2 cents

I have 2 Benelli Montefeltro Sporting shotguns 12 and 20 gauge I have always felt that the bolt return is a bit slow when shooting clays Bird hunting they are fine But shooting true pairs on the sporting clays range, I can shoot my O/U faster But the 20 gauge Montefeltro is a great bird gun Light and easy to carry and it comes to the shoulder quickly

Been looking forward to this video! brbrI was hoping this would give me some direction on whether to get another 28ga (upgrade from my Mossberg SA-28 with an Ethos) or to just buy the Benelli M4 since I have enjoyed my AKSA S4 (an M4 "clone") so much Unfortunately I am still sitting here thinking about the Ethos in 28ga saying, "I like it, but do I like it enough?" Having the SBE 3 as one of my primary duck guns, an ethos in 28 would be a nice complement for early season and days where the farthest shot is 40 yards and the largest bird is a fat mallard The SA-28 is a nice gun for the money and very nimble in hand, but it dirties fast with it's simple gas operated action and goes hungry when only 3" loads are available being it is only chambered for the standard 2-3/4" loads The 3" loads in a 28 are of questionable necessity, but it sure would be nice to have a gun that eats thembrbrHmmmm still a tough choice for me

Thank you for the review Steve! I was surprised when your Ethos had a failure to eject! I have put over 750 rounds (both light and 3" heavy) through my 28 ga Ethos and never had a hang up FYI - There is a factory replacement recoil pad that will give you 15" LOP You can also get a factory replacement raised comb pad Both of these are available from Midwest Gun Works I needed a bit more LOP than 15" so I was able to acquire a set of spacers from innovaTAC in Finland that work with the Progressive Comfort Assembly What choke were you using for the review? Enjoy!
