I don’t think 22k eagle are bad It’s still 1oz gold right? Just extra metal in it to make it a stronger coin that doesn’t need a capsule, Like the buffalo would Since I live back in forth from America to Japan if I sell in Japan I believe I will just have to pay a higher tax on 22k vs 24k is the only downside

Depends where you live In Canada for example we are taxed on American Gold Eagles because they’re 22k and aren’t considered investment grade I would love to buy them because the extra durability is nice but the extra tax on them isn’t worth it Better off with Maples or Buffalos

The only accident/drop I've ever experienced personally to date was at my local lcs when I was looking at a PCGS graded 1928 St Gaudens coin which I dropped on the floor Despite the embarrassing moment I purchased the coin so all good in the end For bullion, Eagles and Buffaloes for me!
