I lost a silver coin collection while I was overseas My soon to be Ex, sold it for half of what it was worth, because she wanted a new pair of boots Could have bought 10 pair, at least, for the value of the coins Somebody saw her coming! I have been stacking silver for a while now, but not as well as i would like Besides coins, I have rounds and bars It's the only way I know of saving

So pre 65 quarters are now the new petrodollar? There is no assurance that silver, while having been valuable currency for 5,000 years will ever be properly priced as currency again because of industrial uses It seems it will always be subject to price manipulation What do you think will be breaking point to cause silver to be priced as currency instead of industrial fodder? There seems to be a huge need for better reclamation of industrial silver

You hit the nail on the head Silver is used in medical equipment Can you imagine how high that equipment would be if we had real actual value of silver? They manipulate the price to keep costs down Same for Jewelry industry and electronics

I bought a roll of quarters from my bank and I didn't find any 1964 or pre-1964 quarters I found a 1970 , 1974, 20202022 and newer quarters

FUN FACT: The quarter that has red paint on it was previously used at establishments like video arcade games for when a machine “Ate your quarter” and an employee gave you a free game It was to separate the store’s quarters from the daily earnings to keep track of profits for the day

I’m a strong believer that silver is devalued by the market do the top 1 and governments can easily accumulate it coming into the next market crash Even than I think silver prices will be low 2-3 years into the future after the market crashes, as they hope silver stackers pawn away their silver to pay their bills as they see the value not going up brbrRegardless I’m into silver for the long run now Every paycheck i pick up a little more I honestly want to hit 1,000oz as a milestone

What I find even more fascinating is there was a time in this country when you could legally redeem the paper dollar fiat currency in the US (the dollar with a blue seal (silver certificate) and the higher denomination dollar with the red seal (gold certificate) for actual silver and gold bullion/coinage at the banks back in the late 1800's and earlier 1900's Gold certificate paper money and gold ownership was made illegal in 1933 and silver certificate paper money was stopped in 1964 (the same year silver for the most part was stopped in its use in US coins)

My grandparents used to say that they were able to buy enough food with a quarter! I had a huge beautiful collection of silver coins since I was young But sad to say without my permission my dear mother gave it away!!! I waited so many years for this time frame to come Now I have nothing! Literally I was left out of all inheritance too! My youngest brother, that I took care of was the one that told me what they did on my back! I decided to leave it there and said to my brother not to worry; God would never forsake us! That’s how I lost everything even my lovely collection of silver coins!

one correction in 1965 I remember pulling in to a standard gas with my father in his truck remember looking over to the pump as it tinged as the gas travel into the truck tank the price of gas per gallon was $18 😁

When I was seven my mother used to give me a quarter to watch the matinee at the cinema It cost fifteen cents and I could buy a candy bar with the change At times I was handed a silver dime in change that I'd save My mother would take away that dime when I showed it to her So I stopped showing her and started to save those silver dimes That started a lifetime of collecting coins
