every fresh faced frankie would be able to root around in the dirt and find a "macho brace" or "super leftovers" or whatever it takes a real person of outstanding character to find a shiny sploink and that's just what i've done Comment from : funnelkaek |
Technically 6 items since there are 2 leftovers 1 underneath each snorlax I didn’t know about the sacred ash being one though! Comment from : Bryan Wharton |
bsigh/b time to replay Fire Red Comment from : WetWildWiener |
Wow, I never would look underneath an npc I wish I registered the Item Finder instead of the bike Comment from : Armor Bearer |
God damn I only knew about the PP Max and Leftovers wtf Comment from : Kenny Nakawaki |
I knew about them all I've played Fire Red and Leaf Green way too frickin' much as a kid XD Comment from : DeoxysAndMew 2 |

I loved HGSS Dowsing Machine, it was miles better than what the PokeApp provided me in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum Comment from : Jex Jacob |
Music? Comment from : Hrishikesh |
My favourite was diamond and pearls because moving in that game was blocky, so you could search for an item on your finder app and when you find the item you count how many steps horizontal and vertical you need to take by counting the lines on the app but take one less step so you don’t stand on the item Comment from : Tj Eggleston |
That PP max was goated but also fairly obvious as one square The Giovanni and soothe Bell are cool I didn't know that and have played those games endless amounts Comment from : Curtis |
My item finder never did any of those animations 🤔 Comment from : Stan |
always knew about the ppmax and all candy locations in frlg Comment from : Ramon Salas |
If you go to Snorlax's other former location (Route 12), you'll find a second piece of Leftovers ^^ Comment from : Alfred Bakou |
I love it Comment from : Sharon Magen |
Thanks that nerd in two island told me that "discerning trainers buy rare items" after I dug up a PP Max lmao what a consoomer, I got three for free and I only dug them out under the ground Comment from : Kimito Hanahala |
Remember the days you have to press A on every corner Comment from : Pointless Ink |
In the original Pokemon Blue there is a hidden rare candy in one of the marts I had used all of my rare candies before I heard about the Missing no glitch, I randomly found it one day I cant find it mentioned in online guides Comment from : Mike Oxmall |
Only knew about the Sacred Ash and Leftovers Comment from : LookAtMyZombies |
so thats why i always gets to pick a random coins on the floor at the Slots machine area Comment from : подёнка |
I found the PP Max and Macho Brace just by stumbling around and exploring as a kid with too much free time Comment from : Hansov |
I think I got all of them without the use of the item finder After you get over the play time limit you try to do things I have slight doubts I had the leftovers, not 100 sure I had itbrbrBut otherwise i got every other one without the item finder Comment from : Mr Herr Gatling |
I remember the Giovanni one Comment from : Gaming Elite |
anyone noticed the pokemon battle revolution music playing in the back Comment from : Rxzor |
WHAT Comment from : Donovan Shovan |
I didnt even know the item finder existed in any other games besides emerald ruby and saphire Comment from : solzutv |
I either never got one, or knew how to even use one in pokemon X and Y and I did that hotel item finding job so many times, I thought it was supposed to be long and tedious, clicking to check a spot walk 1 block forward click again and so on Comment from : Foxx Player |
I have consistently across the game series walked up to hidden items and picked them up without knowing they were there beforehand simply through luck, brjust because I like to hit interact on anything that looks even mildly suspiciousbrbrit took me until sun & moon to find out why the hell I kept picking up items from doing that Comment from : That Bee Person |
Gyarados's red scale paved the road for it Comment from : Alejandro PS |
huh, I only knew of the leftovers and the pp max, I didn't know the soothe bell and the macho brace where there all this time Comment from : privatepessleneck |
In HGSS, there's a hidden item (hyper potion I think?) underneath a public item on one of the early little islands between Olivine City and the Whirl Islands Just always something that stuck out to me Comment from : TSholts |
When I was a kid I remember finding a couple of these because I was obsessed with the idea of hidden items everywhere but didn't know why some had stars pop up Cool! Comment from : Bri P |
Pokemon wii battle game music Comment from : Jon Not King |
Yo I had no idea coz I would just memorize where the hidden items were after several play throughs So I never bothered using it Thanks for the info though Comment from : Tonio Divichi |
Is this Pokémon Battle Revolution music??? The ost has such a specific nostalgia Comment from : Gianni Siddiqui |
If only Ursaluna did this in legends arceus, that would actually make them worth something outside of competitiveness Comment from : Rayyan in south park🇺🇦 |
How do i get an item finder Comment from : elisa_suka_kokomi |
Call ot game-ifing if yoy want but the hg/ss item finder is a pain in the ass to use I'm not a radar technician! Comment from : Soapy Fae |

FRLG make me so nostalgic!brI still fondly remember turning those Games Off to Play Emerald :p Comment from : Leon L |
I didn't know about these items, but I wasn't concentrating much on thhe video because I was too busy jamming to Pokemon Battle Revolution music Like damn, that brings me back That announcer's voice lives in my head forever Comment from : Mamamew TheRani |
BDSP: Hey did you thought Pokemon GSC's item finder was bad?? Let me show you something Comment from : Mernerner |
I remember as a kid hours of fun of using the item finder on an island in the semi islands were it said alot of trash is swept there and I was like is that random dialogue or is they're actually items from there and I would just farm for hours they're finding pearls, nuggets, and just random items Comment from : Jona_hehe |
I only knew of the PP Max Comment from : William Ernstoff |
I hope they bring in FR&LG on GBA Nintendo switch Comment from : E105_Alpha |
I never knew this Comment from : megaman exe |
Easy like for the Battle Revolution music 👍🏻 Comment from : Joctuas |
Gen 5's itemfinder is my favorite so far, very nice interface Comment from : juan manuel blanco |
Back in my day we didn't have all these little sparkles to help find hidden items We checked every individual square by hand! Comment from : Gaile Oxstain |
My item finder glitched out of existence 😢 Comment from : luciano sibona |
The item finder is a really good item! Comment from : williamfrieden1 |
Fire Red was only copying gen 1s hidden items on the field, I don't think it was anything special Comment from : Nightshade |
Comment for later 😊 Comment from : Dalton Barr |
Can't believe FireRed was my first ever handheld game in 2010 and I just learned about these secret items through the video Leftovers would have been so helpful for my dozens of playthroughs!! Comment from : Reed Riker |
I believe this came from red and blue, where there was an item in the 8th gym as well under Giovanni Though I believe that one wasn't a very special itembrbrCould be wrong though, it has been a good few years since I played yellow or red Comment from : The Real Zerkia |
Bruh had no idea Comment from : Dillsimmons |
There are items like this in the original Blue and Red too Comment from : Vyor |
FR/LG are the best games the franchise ever produced and reasons like this are why The only Pokémon game to date that truly rewards you for exploring the game Mayybbeee B/W2 and to a lesser extent OR/AS Comment from : JimmyRodrigo |
It’s kind of ridiculous how many like a secret things are in Pokémon go sometimes I’m just like bro wow that’s a thing in Pokémon in the Pokémon sound like mu mu oh my God it’s a mythical Pokémon holy crud you know it’s like bro you can learn metronome transform a bass hunter on every suicide psychic type it’s a new species Pokémon it all it’s the only the Pokémon other than that all the guns transform therefore I can literally use any move including Trent like I can use any move I think the only move it really can’t use his dark void thought you know what I don’t know maybe you can maybe if you use transform you can use dark void but I’m not sure because they’re voids kinda like yo oh my texts kind of just disappear and it’s kind of weird but I am Comment from : Sam |
Wait this is crazy! Are there any other games where you have to use the Itemfinder/Dowsing machine and can’t just mash A to pick up the item? Comment from : Droozle |
The gen 3 games had so much more heart than people will admit, and I’m voicing it for those who don’t Comment from : im WiZ |
One of the first game play things I didn't know about gen 4 back I've learned that's super useful Crazy Comment from : Kyle Wingrove |
They should have added the feature to be able to go to johto Comment from : Julio Juarez |
Someone gotta put this on the "things you didn't know about": fire red ,leaf green Comment from : Svt Cobra Kid |
In heartgold I somehow missed that you were supposed to touch the screen, and went through a whole playthrough being really confused why there seemed to be no items around The guides I read for the itemfinder didn't make any sense because they all assumed I knew to touch the screen lmao Comment from : LandBeforeThyme |
The only time the item finder didn't such was the one you could just leave up on the touchscreen at all times, think it was gen IV or V? Comment from : Essman |
It's cool and all, but I don't want to have to constantly use the item finder, just to be able to find these items Especially since you can only have 1 key item assigned to a button to easily use it Better would be if it automatically activated somehow and showed you a small arrow somewhere maybe Comment from : Naud van Dalen |
I just discovered your channel bro and I love your content Comment from : LEEHAM |
Dat BATTLE REVOLUTION music dog Comment from : ParasectKazuya Bandicoot |
In FireRed/LeafGreen there’s also items which respawn and can be collected more than once There’s some berries, Stardust, mushrooms and they’re sorted into groups based off the player’s steps Comment from : FhuckGoogle+ |
When I was growing up, the internet was still in its infancy, so my siblings and I didn't even know how to get these hidden items or that they even existed Comment from : YosiahW |
I seriously have to go back and complete the game Comment from : Captain Marvelous |
Man the soothe bell and the macho brace are way too niche to be confusing to get Like the leftovers are something you can actually use to help you beat the game By time you can get either of those items your ev and friendship is already max There's also no battle frontier to need perfect stats for anyway Comment from : Joshua Stone |
This is legit, glad I clicked on this short Comment from : SamThePokeman |
HES PLAYING BATTLE REVOLUTION MUSIC OMG Comment from : Crazynick 1438 |
I only found the leftovers as a kid, never knew about PP Max, Macho Brace and Soothe Bell until now Are you able to get lucky egg in Fire Red/Leaf Green too? Comment from : BarelyLegal23 |
And the shell bell is hidden under a girl that you have to make move when she battles you to get Comment from : kyeization |
I remember finding the leftovers and macho brace this way as a kid back in 06 Eventually when I did a replay of Leafgreen I couldn’t find them again because I didn’t know the item finder was required for it Comment from : D |
I need to go on my completed fire red copy and do some item finding Comment from : Tommy Maxey |

HG/SS's Item Finder was such a good tool that sadly never made it to another game Comment from : AriochStarr |
As someone who has this as my first mainline game, I was pretty stoked when James used it in the anime for some reason XD Comment from : Donkarasu-96 |
i dont think chugga even talked about this Comment from : Shady Kitty |
Lol, I remember this! brImagine if this exists in S/V and all items were hidden! 😂 Comment from : Mirage Uchiha |

I remember finding the Macho Brace, the Leftovers, and PP Max as a kidbrNever once did I find the Soothe Bell, never mind the Sacred Ash, I didn't even see Ho-oh (although assuming that was an event, no surprise there) Comment from : LazarouDave |
i knew about the leftovers and soothe bell (although i could've sworn you could find that one without the item finder) but had no idea about the other 3, that's cool Comment from : ConnorTG5 |
okay time to start anew leaf green Comment from : Chris Tian |
Where is the Item Finder in Scarlet/Violet? Comment from : WanWarrior |
The item finder in hgss is dogshit and I hate it I just played through HG for the first time and I couldn't get that shit to work Comment from : Ryke |
so giovanni had the macho brace the macho brace was based on the "strength intensifier" from an early anime episode it was made by a cruel trainer named AJ you think giovann recruited AJ for his nefarious schemes? Comment from : Mighty Tighty Whitey And Im Smuggling Plums |
Dang I didn't know that you could find those things with the item finder It helped keep me from being broke fish out of water in the earlier games before the modern game updates like shared experience and frequently finding items on the ground in plain sight were a thing Comment from : Beenie Cat |
This short truly show how much i spents im FR/LG, i got them all (tho the ashes in emu) Comment from : Brick Man |
I remember how the soothe Bell was hidden in a very weird way Comment from : Dynamic |
Once all the items are found does that make itemfinder useless? Comment from : Jon Cook |
I'm proud to have known all of these, I always loved using the itemfinder as a kid and digging up cool items Comment from : Jrodd |
That Giovanni bit was news to me Never thought to go back Comment from : Static Defender Akame |
