It is obviously a scam to most people but they only need to get one or two per day They always sound as if they are in a hurry to phone as many number as they can

These calls are now getting ridiculous I'm sometimes getting like 2-3 calls a week I think it's time that the government does something about this and force mobile phone company's to put in a system like Sky does for landline calls Where as any new person calling who isn't on your address book would have to say who they are and put in a code and wait for the user to confirm to allow the caller to speak

"Desperacy"! No such word exists in the English language Did you mean to say "desperation"? Always better to write a script and stick to it That way you can use a spell-checker to validate the words

When you say that it starts with a call offering a cheap deal, you miss out that the person calling always (in my experience) has an accent typical of India and whose grammar is not correct This is always the second red flag (The first is that the telephone number calling is strange - international, local or just plain impossible) My defences go up on such occasions and I've never been anywhere near falling for their blandishments
