Hello, I'm a retired 20 year Army Disabled Veteran and my income consist of SSDI and disability from the VA (which I assume is protected) My credit score was pretty good until I decided to go through a debt consolidation company Turns out this company has not settled anything with any creditors for the entire year I've been with them and now everything is in collections and now I've been served with papers to go to court (being sued by Citi Bank) I've never been in trouble and always payed everything on time I'm willing to settle Citi Bank because I rightfully owe them and don't blame them for suing me However the debt buyers are now sending me letters and I honestly don't want to pay them because I rightfully owe the original credit card companies the money Since my credit is shot now I have lost motivation so my question is what would happen if I just don't go to court with the is debt buyers and just refuse to pay them? Can they freeze my bank account even though I have protected funds and if I continue to ignore them and not go to court with them will I be thrown in jail? I had no issue paying my bills I only wanted to go through this company for a debt consolidation so it would just be one big bill I would be paying on and now it's has come to this Comment from : Don Leon |

i have a question sir I have credit card that has a limit of now 6500 available but my payments are 131 per month i opened a new credit card with capital one but at a low balance I want to cancel the old one but to just pay the new one regularly will that boost my credit up to just pay for the capital one while the discover card is cancelled ?
