Lots of hangers-on taking a cut 'cuz reasons'
Comment from : Stinger Bee

Diego Swart
Nice insights here Matt, but don't sponsors take care of the Hotel costs etc?
Comment from : Diego Swart

Trencito
Imagine middle or lower-tier players from continental Europe Can't be very profitable for them
Comment from : Trencito

james Olojo
Interesting video but u cannot really count food u have to eat wherever you are😂 Also u probably do not pay 20 tax as u Wil deduct expenses being self employed U guys work hard but earn good money
Comment from : james Olojo

naveed hussain
correct me if im wrong but i would have thought the first £12500 is tax free and whatever is earned on top is taxed ? another topic potentially is how being away playing affects family life
Comment from : naveed hussain

darter 216
I love these types of fun fact video’s
Comment from : darter 216

Mad Viking
I'm guessing you don't have a management team to pay? How much do they usually get of the earnings?
Comment from : Mad Viking

Robbie Clear
Thats without a manager, tour players that have management lose a large of winnings brbrGreat video Matt 👍
Comment from : Robbie Clear

Sixty Seconds of Stephens
Thank for sharing your information on the earnings, your videos are always interesting
Comment from : Sixty Seconds of Stephens

No One

Comment from : No One

Rolando Barredo
Great video, but quick question How about tournament entry fees? Is that covered by the PDPA Membership or in any other deduction? And would that cover, let's say, other televised tournaments you qualify for? (Players Championship Finals, Grand Slam, UK Open)
Comment from : Rolando Barredo

Forky-Reviews-and-Rants
that was a bit excessive the covid test bill did you go private lol
Comment from : Forky-Reviews-and-Rants

Robert Holness
Crap
Comment from : Robert Holness

Sean Devine
Interesting Would be great to see more in a Netflix style behind the scenes doc that follows a player at the top end of the rankings and a player trying to keep their tour card over a year or so See all the costs, life on the road etc
Comment from : Sean Devine

Alex C
Would it be different for the world Cup teams championship? Whos picking up those tabs when representing the country?]
Comment from : Alex C

Philip Davies
You have to pay the DRA £50 a year just so they can potentially fine you for nonsense reasons They really do have a cheek😂
Comment from : Philip Davies

Chris Bradley
When I used to play on the pdc development tour first time I got in money £50 not only does it take 28 days to come into account they took £150 😂😂 bit of a pisstake imo when it’s advertised prize money but you don’t actually get what they advertise lol think it’s a 2 fee bare in mind where not pdpa members
Comment from : Chris Bradley

ukfalc
Interesting I always assumed the PDC paid the hotel and travel costs for events
Comment from : ukfalc

Matthew Bailey
Do you make money from your shirt sponsors?
Comment from : Matthew Bailey

Möchtegern Milliardär
How much goes to the management of the players?
Comment from : Möchtegern Milliardär

Kevin Dont Kill Kevin Remmerie
Can players who are out of top 64 or who have had a bad year make a living of this with all hotel costs ?
Comment from : Kevin Dont Kill Kevin Remmerie

Kevin Dont Kill Kevin Remmerie
This video was recommended by Glen Durrant 😂
Comment from : Kevin Dont Kill Kevin Remmerie

Steven Farmer
Aren't you classed as self employed, so things like travel, accommodation etc surely you get tax back for such things so that final figure probably evens itself out a bit more?
Comment from : Steven Farmer

gary squire
When booking hotel’s flights etc do you book them ? Or leave it to a agent, manager etc what do the top seeds do let someone it at any cost ?
Comment from : gary squire

Billy Newton
Cracking insight here Matt So crazy to see the intricacies of the actual prize money Top work mate!
Comment from : Billy Newton

RobW
Total rip off the £1114 expenses to play Although you can claim that all back against tax as they are expenses Interesting to see what a player actually pays out for events Its something that joe public doesn't really think about and something that could actually stop you from playing were they to be high enough what with home bills to pay 1st
Comment from : RobW

Tomas Morrissey
🙈 nice insight just a bit depression when u take the tax out but hey we all pay I'm self employed I feel ur pain
Comment from : Tomas Morrissey

Paul Plumridge
I hope they didnt charge you for your own covid tests That would be quite tight
Comment from : Paul Plumridge

Ben H
What about managers? Don’t dart players have agents and stuff taking a percentage, or is that just for the top 16ish players
Comment from : Ben H

Alex Pollington
Well next year 90 will come off due to us having to pay off the furlough scheme So you're gonna get a tenner for losing in round 1 at the worlds
Comment from : Alex Pollington

Anthony 8BP Gaming
Jesus The PDPA that’s some take from each player £800?! Damn Good and informative video tho Matt
Comment from : Anthony 8BP Gaming

Comment from : rcplanepirate

TheFLAG2009
What about the relationship with the managers? Should they be paid too?
Comment from : TheFLAG2009

Nick Wyatt
Really think hotel expenses should be taken care of by the PDC In Golf, they mainly get their hotel stays free
Comment from : Nick Wyatt

John West
Hi Matt, you say 20 tax, surely you'd claim your expenses back IE hotels, clothing etc, also I dare say you've got a good accountant 😉
Comment from : John West

Matt H
Still not bad for a weeks work😉
Comment from : Matt H

DHDKJRTB
Great video mate
Comment from : DHDKJRTB

Jan Erik
Nice video, really interesting Thank you :)
Comment from : Jan Erik

Adrian Walsh
Love the channel Would Price have had to pay £100k on tax so also? Kinda shows that darts players don't get as much as some think and that really got win few big ones for the game to be financially secure
Comment from : Adrian Walsh

Sahta99
Can you do the breakdown of costs per tournament vs annual costs? BTW it is crazy that you had to pay for covid tests and not the organizers
Comment from : Sahta99

Gabe Dangoor
What grip would you recommend for someone who needs something a little bit more grippy than a classic ring grip, but doenst’ get on withbra twin ring grip
Comment from : Gabe Dangoor

Travel with Jodie
Interesting to learn if the fees and what you don't necessarily hear or learn about 😊👌
Comment from : Travel with Jodie

Gus
Lets not forget Matt is a very central UK based player & very close to most venues Most over-seas players will have extra costs Just travelling back & forth from Scotland can be costly, which is why Hendo moved south The real top players will have good sponsors, but the mere mortals will only get a few £100 quid here or there
Comment from : Gus

David McCormick
Yay The intro is back!
Comment from : David McCormick

Patrick Gallagher
Great video Just wondering as you were saying darts players are self employed, but obviously affiliated with the PDC Is it like WWE where the pro wrestlers are deemed not to be employees but independent contractors and therefore not fully looked after, (travel cost, health insurance, etc), but unable to work for another promotion Or does the PDC let players such as non card holders play where they like
Comment from : Patrick Gallagher

David Marchant
Very good info
Comment from : David Marchant

mkdavo
One thumbs down I notice, probably Barry Hearn
Comment from : mkdavo

Comment from : Liam JC Jones

Dan Greene
Hey matt how many miles or kilometers are you from london
Comment from : Dan Greene

Stuart McMahon
Would u not include any sponsorship money from being in the world championships in that
Comment from : Stuart McMahon

Usireland
Do you know if the "international qualifiers" receive any sort of travel expenses, such as for the "South-Central America" qualifier or the India qualifier, because I'm sure their travel expenses would be a lot higher than yours?
Comment from : Usireland

Jack L
Loving the daily videos Matthew! If you get stuck for ideas I'd love to see a video on what might influence where a player decides to stand on the oche (for example Andrew Gilding standing on the left corner and Stephen Bunting on the right corner, despite both being right-handed) and what techniques are best suited for where on the oche you choose to stand
Comment from : Jack L

Russ Williams
Busted! I see you conveniently left out the invoice for the mini bar When taken into consideration, you are down to 8k after tax 😉🤣🤣🤣
