When you sell the coin you only get paid for the weight of gold Same if you sold gold granulate So scratches shouldn't really matter Unless the buyer intends to resell the coin Comment from : Danijel Jenko |

Love the look and feel of buffaloes and Maple Leafs—I’ve owned a couple—but I just can’t live with gold encapsulated So now I only own small cast bars that are happy to be held and enjoyed with all of their unique scratches, abrasions, and pour marks Comment from : BELL TUNNEL |

Gold I think just does alot better than silver so it doesn't matter too much, other than if you have a coin right next to a shinier one if u have rare gold it dont even matter oner bit No one for miles will have his coin next to yours Silver is super soft you have to take care of it Comment from : ToxiicZombee |
@2is1 So I just found that my 1/10 gold maple leafs have a couple of noticeable dings, in the leaf 😢 I’m pretty pissed at myself because I feel like I should’ve noticed it at the LCS But how much does it matter in the grand scheme of things? Thanks in advance! Comment from : Luigi Stacks |
yes it's practically useless, don't worry I'll buy it off of you at 50 Comment from : looksmaxxing101 |

My experience? It affects the price when you go to an lcs They'll use every excuse to offer less I've not tried to sell a dinged coin to one of the big boys online They will ask if it's BU, so I'm confident I'd be offered less I just received a 1/4 oz BU Philharmonic from Liberty Coin It has a very noticeable ding on the edge It had been dropped I suppose it could have slip through their quality control, but it's gold and I really doubt it I'm debating on whether to call and return it, but I'm sure I'll have to pay for shipping/insurance, and it really won't be worth it I know it's just bullion, but it rubs me wrong when I order one thing and receive another I have to travel today- I think I'll stop at a large lcs in Bellingham, WA and show the coin and ask if they'd offer less Comment from : john |

"butone of you will have to send me your 24k coin" LMAO Comment from : Jeff McClain |

my 1st gold coin has a slight line scratch and the seller told me it won`t effect the value and a jeweler told me the same thing as he weighted the coin and it came to the same weight,,,what baffles me the most on a lot of videos of stackers,,they have all their coins/bars on a hardtop table, moving it around on the surface or just dropping it hard on the table,,logic Comment from : andrewmontreal |

Gold is Gold Coins are meant for spending At the end of the day, that’s their purpose Sure, we can preserve them in air tights, but… Gold is Gold It’s not so much the shape or the stamp… It’s the content of the metal I care about! Comment from : Robbie Hollywood |
Some of the best most expensive collectibles look like trash, especially silver, because of father time but if it's 999 who cares, it's still with it's weight in silver or goldspeaking ofwhy are American gold eagles the most expensive but comparatively has less actual pure gold weight wise?🤷🏼♂️humans putting popular opinion on things Common sense would tell me I'd rather have 999 gold ounce than gold that's 955 gold ounce for the same price or morehumans make everything dumb and difficult Comment from : Michael Meacham |
If it gets a ding or scratch but still is a true troy ounce of goldwhat's the difference looking at it as subjective art and an ounce of gold is two different things opinion and monetary/liquid cash etc Comment from : Michael Meacham |
That's a very nice high dollar knife you have as well!! Well done!! Comment from : Jay Ballard |

"Gold is gold" people say If I have more than a micro scratch on my gold coin it goes back to the dealer I returned a coin to SD because the assay was in poor condition I'm a frequent customer so think they're pretty understanding with my annoyingly high standards Comment from : Dave |

Damaging 9999 gold bullion bfor SCIENCE!/b Comment from : XP_Studios |
I know a dealer that doesn't even look over the coin I'm selling, to keep him distracted I put a number of coins on the table and we get to negotiating right away To prevent damage or blemishes to an eagle, don't touch the eagle with your fingers, only on the edges The oils in your fingertips can react with the copper and gold and blemish the coin For the Buffalo it's the finned rims or thinner edge on one side and a thicker or wider edge on the other side, that's called a finned rim, pretty common for the Buffalo and some dealers don't know about it They think it's a damaged coin when it's straight from the mint I will buy any slightly damaged gold coin for a discount or melt value Comment from : Hugo Stiglitz |
Saw a little scratch on my pre 33 gold Indian coin! Ouch 🤕 Comment from : ApplezToOranges |

Got a new one for $1,900 & a US Pt 2021 new eagle first out of a mint roll for $50 over spot when below $1,800 the day after the newbie panic sell-off Long time LCD was overloaded with metal Probably short of $ A wonderful experience and helps with$ cost averaging and maybe if I sell some high cost numbered bars at end of year can offset some LTCG from high prices of last year of other asset types before Biden raises LTCG rate for this year Not much but the CG will go up especially after record unemployment & helicopter stimulus liquidity QEs & not QEs from before Comment from : Goldcic Vibefel |
Do they matter? Only if you're numismatist If its investment for gold value? Buy bullion ingot/ bar If the SHTF or Gov't recalls gold? It's become pretty clear that the Fed doesn't have to do anything, they just talk about doing something and the markets react Metals, equities, and crypto all rise and fall when Powell speaks The only thing I know for sure is that I want assets in my name, not dollars in the bank Comment from : Mike Baxter |

My gold bullion I’m not too worried about having scratches on I mainly get the gold only for the metal content/value My silver on the other hand, I don’t like scratches on those Mostly because I’m usually keeping it for myself and prefer to have nicer looking ones Or when I’m selling it people or dealers they could tend to be more picky and not like the damage But if I had a roll of generic rounds, Buffalo, sunshine mint, etc… and they had a few dings and scratches on them all I wouldn’t be upset Comment from : Spokane Silver Stacker |
I don't own any gold coins with any scratches or dings Comment from : Amfear Liathmor |

I know some small dings and nicks don’t matter on a standard bullion coin Perhaps it’s my OCD I, (unlike our “Fishy” friend), keep everything in air-tites! I guess I’m just anal enough that it matters to me Lol Great video Comment from : Pistol Packing Pilot |
