You lost me with Flying Eagle Cents Those are S tier We agree on the Trade dollar, such a fascinating coin, I love chop marks Morgans, by far are the most varied looking coins (PL, DMPL, toned, blast white, etc) Ikes were my first experience with a silver dollar I think they are at least D tier Indian head pennies are A tier Comment from : EZ054098 |
Modern Eagles, bullion, stacking, just not my thing Comment from : Todd Merrell |
The Morgan is so, so overrated, and I don't really dislike them I have some They're okay They have some elements that are quite beautiful, and others that really are not The obverse is absolutely brilliant Striking, if that's not too on the money (a twofer!) It's gorgeous, well proportioned, massive, impressive and imposing, with plenty of imagination and invention, like the cotton blossoms in the hair The reverse has some strange design flaws The heraldic eagle looks like an emaciated Archaeopteryx that got flattened by a steamroller The Gothic typeface for 'In God We Trust' is completely bizarre and inexplicable, utterly inappropriate, ill-fitting and random, and cramming a wreath in there just forces all of the design elements to have to become extruded into long, narrow, curvilinear forms that start to resemble banners It's a hodgepodge of elements that don't integrate or cohere They fight each other It doesn't work well It's kind of a weird coin They're insanely popular, and they do have their charms in the form of CCs, but they're so common that they're ubiquitous As a series they don't feel that special to me, but I must admit that I do find the key dates and CCs interesting I see the potential appeal of VAMs, but for me that feels like a rabbit hole that isn't worth going down - I'll save that for Liberty Seated Halves and Dollars Morgans just aren't a wow, super coin for me in general Comment from : Todd Merrell |
The Franklin half is not a beautiful coin Its design elements are clumsy and bulky It looks like a cartoon depiction of Frankenstein, like the cartoon character on the box of Frankenberry cereal Comment from : Todd Merrell |
Barber coinage is notable for its retention of details, even in extremely worn condition You may not find its design attractive (I disagree with you - they're elegant), but they do retain their design beautifully, even when heavily worn They're also great for kids, especially the halves, which are an affordable, big and old chunk of silver with a lot of history for cheap, and uncirculated and proof examples look great and can be quite valuable, which is a extremely rewarding area to collect as an adult Comment from : Todd Merrell |
I just started this video and I think it's really interesting that your rankings in this video are based solely on, presumably, your opinion of the quality of the designs of the coins I think I actually just said, "Huh" out loud Certainly I think that the design of a coin plays a huge part in one's attraction to a certain type of coin, but there are, of course, other reasons why we're attracted to certain series as well, like the relation of a series to history and whether we're particularly interested in that history, and its overall scarcity and the reasons for that scarcity, and the history of its minting, and how long the series was minted, and its survival, and occasionally rediscovery of presumed lost or destroyed coins in hoards, and how coins in that series were used and viewed at the time that they were current A great example that comes to mind immediately is 3 cent silver coins being used as teething rings and screwdrivers because they were the right thinness and diameter, and that's why so many of them are bent, and they're hard to find because people used them - it was a practical denomination at a time when it could actually buy something, and not just be handed to you as a part of your change The criteria for this video are so much more specific than I'd expected that it's based on really only one criterion, and I just think that's unusual and really fun! It's a fresh, simple angle, and certainly a really great way to interest people who are new to coin collecting / numismatics, and it's a great reminder of why we love these things in the first place Comment from : Todd Merrell |
I love the Morgan dollars Comment from : Juan Torres |

Both v nickels should be F tear There never in good condition Comment from : JB82 |
I left you two comments to help support your channel, but I will say that I will not watch another one your videos ever again because of how annoying it was to be told over and over again to help you with whatever when all it's doing is getting money in your pocket by trying to trick people into commenting over some debate And also you didn't tell me anything about the coins looking for which is an American US coin that you obviously don't know about or your little book doesn't Good luck and goodbye Comment from : Bruce Western |
Hey don't forget to ask us all this subscribe to your channel, I think we all forgot since the last five times you brought it up ❤️❤️ Comment from : Bruce Western |
18:28 Aw man You kinda hurt my feelings :( but I do understand and respect your opinion Comment from : Eisenhower Dollar |
I was surprised I do agree with you with the exception of the Kennedy and the Silver Eagle that design was so great that it was repeated twice Kennedy should have been on the top so as the silver eagle Comment from : Carolina Moran |
Eisenhower looks like a baby alien 👽 lmfao! Comment from : Lindsey |
where irs my 40 k Comment from : C |
You forgot the gold ones Comment from : Bruh |

I love the 3 cent nickel lol i found three in my grandpa’s collection and they are top tier in my collection, even tho they arent silver Comment from : David Hubert |
I'm with you on many of your choices, especially your view of the Ike dollar Just in the last 24 I was thinking how ugly it is-front and back Comment from : Naturephile55 |
Where's the wreath cent the flowing hair cent and half cent Comment from : Michal Gašparovič |
I honestly felt like clicking off your video purely because the Eisenhower dollar is one of my favorite coins But I’m just gonna keep watching because I like most of your previous choices Comment from : Alex1999 |
I’m so fly nickel penny Comment from : John Bradford |
Not gonna lie but I really like the Eisenhower dollar because of the reverse the Eagle landing on the moon is just so iconic and it’s a dollar which I’ve been dying to get other than the peace dollar Comment from : Saed’s show |
No flowing hair? Comment from : Hunter01 |
I don't like the American Silver Eagle coin The mint just copied the Walking Liberty half design (which--don't get me wrong--is beautiful) Why couldn't they come up with something original? Comment from : James Sn |
What software did you use for this ranking Comment from : David Kalman |
What about our gold coins Comment from : David Kalman |
SO SO silly (Ranking differing on color?????) Comment from : GweegeStudios |
The only disagreement with this tier list that I have is that ranking of The Roosevelt dimes I think there’s a lot of interesting history behind the famous Franklin Roosevelt Comment from : SwagNut98 |
The F ranking for the IKE dollars is blasphemy-I remember getting these by the rolls at a bank in CA as a kid with my grandpa and the weight of them makes the dollar feel worth more than a $1 under normal Circumstances They’re just so unique and cool to have, own and spend The only coins I’d put in the F tier are the commemorative coins-I hate them for all the different designs which imo should’ve been implemented as special sets you only get in the mint In addition I think all the different designs made for the 50 state and national park quarters is a colossal waste of money Other than that I agree for the most part-I’d put the Star of David 3 cent coin under B-tier Sure they’re silver but a coin that can have religious connotation is to be not worthy of American recognition since America is transparent with religious affiliation Comment from : Michael Korenberg |
Those look like goood coins wwwyoutubecom/channel/UCuaElhw2S4lTRcw06KndatA Comment from : Diana Priscilla George |
i think the 76 halves should have the eagle reversebrbecause the eagle is way better than the independencebrhall Comment from : Michael Ekstrand |
I think Silver Jefferson Nickels are cool because they stand out from other nickels making them easier to find when you are looking through change Comment from : IcyHotRyan |
Great video Comment from : Silver Scorpion |
Hello Comment from : Cristal Monrroy |
I agree with most of your S-tier picks Mine would be the Trime, Mercury dime, 20 cent piece, seated series, Walking liberty half, Trade, Morgan and Peace dollars, and the ASE I think the Ike dollar is fine(obverse sucks, though) and the Memorial cent is okay Comment from : I Like Numismatics1940 |
I have always been a fan of the wheat cent It's the coin that started my collection after all, why would i not like it Comment from : not sogga |
Just my opinion but Mercs, Buffalo’s standing lib, walkers, Morgan’s, and peace , should all be in S tierbrOh and the new reverse on the type 2 eagle is atrocious worst design ever put on a coin Comment from : Savage Stacker |
Awesome video!!! Comment from : Generic Name |
I have a kissing Cran pocket knife it's got the Indian head cent coin on the handle says 1906 Comment from : Big RHINO Nagy |
Standing Liberty for S tier The Eagle Reverse is AMAZING 🤩 Comment from : TheCoinPirate |
What about America the Beautiful Quarters? Comment from : Ben Carr |
Susan B Anthony dollars and Sacagawea dollars get a D We want Ike Comment from : Ben Carr |
Eisenhower dollars should get a B, the obverse makes Eisenhower look like a lizard, but the reverse is really cool Big clad coins are cool Comment from : Ben Carr |
Morgan dollars get an A because the hair could have been flowing, not bunched up Comment from : Ben Carr |
Washington quarters should get at least a B tier The reverse is cool Comment from : Ben Carr |
I would give the seated coins a B because lady liberty looks like she would have a giant crick in her neck after looking backward for 150 years She is in a seemingly uncomfortable position and that is why they are a B If she faced forward, they would be an A Comment from : Ben Carr |
Everybody hated steel cents when they were struck 1944 was a high mint year despite the war to make up for them I guess D tier to me Comment from : Ben Carr |
I really enjoyed this video! As a Canadian, it helped me to actually see the different types The only one that you were missing there were the presidential dollars I’ve collected all of those Comment from : The Numismaniac |
Trimes are my favorite lil silver ☺👊 Comment from : Ehren Krause |
How did you manage to find a Dansco album? Comment from : Robert Ross |
Do you know if it wasn't for Eisenhower you and me probably wouldn't be here Comment from : sticks and stones |
Great idea for a video! May have to make a response :) Comment from : Treasure Town |
You should make this into a series with other countries Maybe starting with Canada or Mexico? Comment from : TraeTL 11 |
Fun tier list! Personally, I wouldn't consider how iconic a coin is when ranking them if I were going based on personal preference That being said, it was fun to see the reasoning behind why you think a specific design/type was deserving of the ranking you gave it Fun video!brAlso, I would put the clad modern designs in F tier and thier silver types in D Or, keep them in D, but bump the silver ones up to C for being silver Comment from : Creator Zaw |
Keep it up very nice Comment from : Christian Deloera |
Nice 😁 Comment from : Christian Deloera |
Great Video again good sir! Comment from : Montana Fox |
Interesting, but you should rank them on Aesethic appeal, rather than value Otherwise I kind of agree - the American series of the pre 1930s was beautiful and later ones are factory made My faves are all the 1910s - 1920s silver, Mercury dimes, Standing Libs, Walkers and Peace dollars and also the early seated liberty coins Comment from : Moneytane1976 |
I'm close with you Though I think the Capped Bust deserves an A, The Seated a B, and the Franklin a C It all comes down to personal opinion :) Nice vid though!! I was looking forward to it and it didn't disappoint! :) Oh, and The Buffalo Nickle is just a crap coin in general, It wore out too fast and was just kinda' boring, I'd give it a D Comment from : Roy Baker |
Not a big US coin fan, but, that being said, that Ike dollar might be one of the coolest ones because the eagle is on the Moon and that's so awesome It's like the most space-agey coin we circulated, and that's the coolest thing the USA has ever donebrAlso Ike might be one of the best leaders in our history, not a perfect man, but certainly an S-tier president! Comment from : Mark Petersen |
I agree with you on that Don't know how far you are with yours I finished mine with Page 5 "US Gold," Working on Canadian, now Comment from : Sandman Coins & Collectables |
I would add the west point series of pennies nickels and quarters to the S list as well Comment from : just some guy |
Is the type 2 Buffalo nickel supposed to be in the S tier??? Comment from : Chaim Moshe Zaltsman |
Great video and I think you did a good job ranking them all Comment from : Owen Roche |
Love how you ranked and rated your collection Comment from : Barbara Finkelstein |
Ik it's would be a pretty short video but I think it would be cool to see rating the canadian coins Maybe include the earlier silver commemorative if you need more to rate! Comment from : Jakob Miller |
Cool Comment from : Silith |
I bet it will be another great video! Comment from : Owen Roche |
Excited to see this! Comment from : SpegTacular |
