I found the coin mechanism for my apartments washers and dryers back in the 70's and made a simple tool out of a coat hanger to do this I was also able to access the coin box, but I'm not going to tell you how I did that I only had $20 left out of my bi-weekly paychecks after paying my $200/month rent and $200/month car payment out of each paycheck So I was looking to save money wherever I could I also noticed on my monthly phone bill they were changing me $5/month for touchstone dialing I went to Radio Shack and bought the cheapest rotary dial telephone I could buy and contacted the phone company and had them stop charging me this fee The things you'll do when you're poor!
