I'm still trying to find out why I can't: 1 exercise, 2 smoke, 3 drink after donating platelets I donate platelets about once every two weeks because my blood type is A+, which apparently makes me a universal platelet donor I have no problems refraining from the aforementioned activities, but I'm curious as to why I've been able to learn what happens to my platelets after donation and what I should and shouldn't do before a donation, but I still want to know why I can't exercise after a donation when the blood is essentially put back into my body

Today I have done my 99th whole blood donation in Singapore Here in Singapore there is no payment or any other reward, except for recognition tokens (eg an engraved medal on your 25th donation, or other items with no commercial value) and the appreciation of recepients Main reason I suppose is to prevent unsuitable donors from turning up and to keep the blood supply safe Hope everyone around the world continues to help to contribute to the blood supply!

I didn't really knew why, don't know how I started, but I kept donating roughly 4 times a year, every year since 2004 It's just something that I do, overtime became a habbit Did not hopped, did not wished, but I thought someday, one day, maybe, maybe not, it will come back to me And it did beyond my imagination My wife received 3 blood transfusions in order to survive after giving birth And one time after that, they called me asking me to come sooner than planned for some new born surgery I wil keep giving because now I know why
