In summary I should develop a study plan or in the case of the Japanese JET program use their teaching standards as a tool to ultimately get students talking as much as possible Grammar? Teach them about root words or where predicates go, but get them to speak most of all while teaching those things Comment from : Cantino Ch |

Great Video and Ideas - Even though I add many interactive games within my ESL lessons and make lessons as fun as I can (Which my students also find very fun to do) - Personally I still find teaching English - utterly boring most of the time - and an ambiguous subject to teach- It is hard to structure lessons properly That is why I love/prefer teaching science Much easier to teach using powerpoints/whiteboard and you get to do fun experiments Comment from : Science Powerpoints |

There is no exact way how to teach a second language It all depends on how the students are You have to be open to change what you understand by "the exact method" The context in which students grow and develop their skills and how they see life and what hopes they have in life and the sort of behavior always are important Be careful, you can´t go into a classroom pretending having the best method Sometimes it works, but not at a 100, most of the time you need to adapt your methods to the sort of student you have Also it depends on how long a course lasts, what means do you have, materials, and yes the pay you get I used to believe that reading a lot of education theories, watching tutorials would make me "the best" jajajaja, I was wrong, I am not the best and this has made me a better teacher because I never use the same techniques As I said "it's a matter of context" Comment from : Agapito Ledezma Madaz |

Lots of great tips here Teaching ESL to students in the United States means that we also have to consider the student population's goals I teach ESL to college students who are recent immigrants or refugees, and we have to target the students' writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills so that they can be ready to succeed in college classes Certainly speaking is the skill that they often need to most, but we also have to help them with the other skills so that they can perform well in college-level classes Comment from : Learn Academic English |
