Very nice video You nailed it! For me it worked to know those 3 tips: look straight when standing, bend your knees and move the paddle into the water as quick as possible as it gives you 3rd point of contact on the SUP I started to paddle after 15 minutes, in my 2nd attempt in the water with SUP This video is very helpful! I do have a wetsuit I have it on - just to get used to it I will wear it on paddle boarding on this coming Sunday of the 16th April I decided that I needed it And got one my size XL - which fitted fine 43 minutes from now and I will get it off Comment from : Stephen Farthing |

Can you suggest any tips for someone with an ankle mobility issue to get back on the board? I can't kick hard enough with my one good foot to get myself back on my board Dislocated my ankle last year and it's still not there yet Haven't worked out how to stand up yet either Practicing on the floor to try and stand up in a straight line at the moment Been using my board mostly as a sit down board right now Comment from : Michelle DeGroot |

First time, I went to my local bay There were small waves and a slight breeze, but I tried it anyway I didn't get up, but I had a good time Too bad it's the end of the season, I don't really want to get a wet suit I'm a little scared to try it on nearby lakes, as they're freshwater and I never know if there's brain eating amoebas in there But once I get my sea legs I'll maybe feel more confident Comment from : Fryncyar Yorvjink |

Just an observation I suppose that you shouldn't jump for joy on a paddle board on achieving a minute standing up on it - or more Because the net result will be one almighty splash by the consequence of the doing so! So there's some wisdom of keeping your celebration muted and only deliberately doing so In that celebration when justified to do so! I've gone on hold for now But roll on Spring next year - and I will still make the attempt To stay up longer than 9 seconds I suspect that I might have caused some amusement to that end! I actually just have a good question to ask And if someone could give me an answer to it Would it be possible to wear foldable Wet weather boots on a paddle board? I do tend to believe that it is preferable to wear no surf shoes or boots of this kind on a paddle board! For example, I wore surf shoes about three weeks ago for the purpose of learning to get back onto the paddle board I've got Pokeboo foldable Wet weather boots but I am concerned of the soles of these boots On the basis that it may be possible to slip off the board I would however, welcome some confirmation of this! If possible to do so! Comment from : Stephen Farthing |

Just try to stand up Dont paddel right away, you cannot do That when you are a beginner That is too hard Comment from : snoblessie |
|
Good to hear how you should do it, makes me wanna try againbrbrFirst time for me, was with a board to small and light for me, it literally bend in the middle when I stood upbrbrI didnt have have any instructions on paddle lenght, so I just kept it at the smallest legnth (1-12m), alltough im 178 Meters tallbrbrI also went out on a windy day, and well I didnt bother to build some speed to give me any stabilitybrbrFalling onto sharp rocks and shellfish for 40min straight wasnt the best of all experiences, but Im willing to try again This time, with an actual plan Comment from : freeman Zweidreifünf |

Right Today on the 15th August - I made some further progress with standing up on the paddle board And although not in this part - I also deliberately tipped myself off the paddle board and made a very successful attempt of reboarding the paddle board That was something I meant to do On that day And so did itbrbrSince it is a Marine lake at Clevedon The recommendation is to wear surf shoes, when feet are on the bottom of the lake This is partly because of crabs taking a very great protest against bare feet by nipping at the toes Beau, I think that you'll be howling with laughter at it Because it could well have happened to you brbrI did have a second achievement on this You can recall that I stood up on a paddle board for just 4 seconds, two weeks prior Well! I did 56 better with standing up for 8912 seconds Quite a bit of a improvement I think that you'll agree And that achievement of the 15th August Is a very considerable one Comment from : Stephen Farthing |

Good point that! I tried that a few times over the last couple of weeks And came closest on the last try Even so I almost lost balance and ultimately went back to knees I mean to have another go in 12 days time And this time I will stand up on the paddle board And perhaps even try out on either the River Avon beyond Bath or the River WyebrbrGoing barefoot on it Yep I think that I will I have surf shoes but I think that carrying them with you and not on your feet Is perhaps the best waybrbrI am noting the technique and I almost did so On Sunday 17th July At Clevedon Marine Lake in North Somerset I will employ the strategy I have studied closely through You Tube sites brbrThis time I shall do so! By mid August I will do so Comment from : Stephen Farthing |

Hi! I have the intention of buying a paddle board, but I would also like to use it as a kayak Is that possible? Has anybody tried? Your advices would be highly appreciated Comment from : Pedro Zampatti |

Great video! May I add, make sure you sit down if you need to answer your phone or do anything that distracts you The only time I've fallen, or seen my friends fall, is when they were distracted and something simple like a tiny gust of wind made them lose balance and fall Comment from : The Paddy Caddy |
