If you have to explain what makes a good abstract painting is the start of a bad abstract painting An abstract painting is a emotion, a memory, a feeling No need for explanations nor rulesbrThe viewer will simply understand it and relate to it Comment from : barca10108 |

OH my I haven't even thought about that I just wanted to create something beautiful How does one even begin to think like that - it isn't a natural process for me Hmmm I wonder if I can get there, it's a totally foreign concept But interestingly enough Nicholas Wilton is still running that course, and I've signed up for it about a week ago So we shall see But thanks for the thoughts Comment from : Lorraine R |
Thank you Louise for your simple explanation of abstract art I always thought I'm weird and a little mad because the "traditional" art did not really attract me however I admire their work and as an newby I copy many photos/artworks but it's not feeling true to myself, I feel lonely My only painting I really love is the one I did when I was emotionally angry And it seems to me I'm the only one who loves it but it's okay Comment from : Gerda le Roux |

Have you ever wondered if abstract art might be a bit too loose these days? All my favourite abstract artists are from the 19th and early 20th century Oscar Bluemner's "Death" and "Evening Tones" spring to mind, Sayen's "Daughter in a Rocket", and Paul Klee's "Adam and little Eve" As a photographer I learnt more about photography by looking at the works of great photographers of the past I think up coming abstract artists should do likewise with great abstract artists of the past Having said that, I love abstract art over any other art genre in the same way I love street photography over landscapes Comment from : oldproji |
Gorgeous abstract design Thanks for sharing 😊 Comment from : LipsitaArt |
Very interesting video thank you! Recently saw a video by an artist describing which joints - fingers, wrist, elbow, shoulder, etc - that an abstract artist paints from, that makes a big difference in the results Though this does not necessarily make a painting good or bad, he demonstrated techniques with painting examples, the motion, results, etc I am not an artist, and had never thought about that I found it interesting to think about when looking at art Comment from : Houdini Brie |

Good stuff!! My advice would be: Use big canvases, at least 80*100cm Or the impact on the viewer will to lame 2 Start by doing regular landscape as mentioned 3 Watch documentaries on Gerhard Richter, Jackson Pollock and Leonardo da Vincis Monalisa which is indeed a landscape with excellent composition tips This is not strict abstract like Piet Mondrian, bcoz that I completely don't get I am talking abstract landscape Comment from : Plywoodcar Johnson |
