I have a old book called "Offical Price Guide To Mint Errors and Varieties" published by House of Collectibles 1981, authored by Alan Herbert NLG It's so old that I rarely use it and of coarse the prices are incorrect but it's good for checking known errors Have you heard of it? Thx Shawn

Ha it would be way cheaper to buy a used Kindle, and well worth it even if you use it for nothing but the digitized CPG I used to be one of those "NO, I need to hold a book in my hand and see real pages!" kind of people (same goes for writing with a pen rather than typing, thinking it was crazy not to have photographs processed onto paper and only ever seeing them on screens, etc) But now I hate having to handwrite anything, haven't had a photo processed in years, and since I caught the coin bug just over a year ago, I haven't looked inside a single coin reference book, only used Variety Vista, Wexler's, PCGS, Numista and Coin Trackers, depending on what kind of information I need I have only recently begun to hanker for the CPG because I'm tired of getting over-excited about errors that turn out not to be very valuable So I may just do this cheap-used-Kindle thing for that It would depend on how user-friendly the digital CPG is

Great video Shaun Could the price spike in Cherrypickers Guide have anything to do with the fact that the 2020 Red Book is already out with speculative 2020 coin prices? I for one had rather have a book that shows me what particular error and variety coins LOOK like vs one that tells me what said coins MIGHT be worth if the stars all align correctly Fortunately I got in on the ground floor and got my Cherrypickers Guide when they first came out, as well as a copy of my other favorite coin reference book, Strike It Rich With Pocket Change Thanks man see ya in the next one

I was buying dansco but it's really expensive Hobby lobby has an online coupon for 50 off 1 item pretty much always and I buy the Wittman albums from there with the coupon instead and save half the cost

Dansco albums are fantastic You didnt mention Intercept Shield which I like even better Ill search for used cherry pickers guides at coin shows or what have you If no luck I will get a digital version and the last book you mentioned too Thanks for awesome videos Yes this one is necessary and thank you for all of the great information

I got both books for my kindle very inexpensively I'd rather have them in book form, but would never be able to afford it If you don't have a kindle, you can download the kindle app to your computer or android on the Amazon site and you can read kindle books on those devices I don't think they charge for this Worth a try to get these books

Ive been using the Kindle version on an iPad and it works very well The lack of communication from Whitman and Dansco (in regards to updated leaves) is frustrating I understand going out of print but at the minimum put out a release This is ripe for competition

outrageous to sell books at this price many folks that has no money that wants to start this hobby won't n can't buy em I am one of them folks, normal n poor that has catastrophic illnesses in my family (such as my beautiful son) I started collecting and YouTube watching late last fall for varieties n errors n got the bugand have been relying on these channels such as yours to prosper my finds Definitely I will have to fly with my method on this and forgo the books I needed n wanted for myself n grandchildren Do hope YouTube doesn't make me pay to watch these coin channels later in lifeotherwise there will be another way to decline ppl n generations to come for this hobby PS so much for me getting my needed books this CHRISTmas n on I guess the rich ppl want to keep the business for themselves How selfishly rude I must add Indeed! n Shawnthanks for the heads up so I don't get bummed when trying to acquire the books what a bummer of a day this is for me now going to go to my corner n pout somebut not going to pout longthanks to your next video's I get to watch for free 🤓 👍 👏

Thanks for All the great info as always Shawn For folks buying these books don't write in them it ruins them When I was alot younger I would write my name in them so no one would steal my books or at least I could identify it as mine if I went to a show Now I don't write in any any of my books because they can go up in value over timeJust wanted to through that out there Thanks Shawn I will continue to support you in all your videos I watch them all

as time goes by, less books are available and people want them more geezers like me get tired eyes from the screen when working on coins all day i have 'A mercenary's Guide To The Rare Coin Market' i think it was printed in the late 1980s but i guess i'll throw it on Ebay and see what happens

Shaun, About the Kindle version of Cherrypicker's Guide I have a program on my PC to read Kindle books and also have the Android version on my Samsung Phone I always have my Cherrypicker's Guide with me everywhere I go I simply pull it up on my phone My copy is the Amazon version
