Well, many things in Germany are way cheaper than in the Netherlands So I always buy 6-12 months worth of toilet paper, sunscreen, toothpaste, some tinned food and grains, some cleaning stuff, etc But all stuff that will definitely be used up I always buy a gigantic box of laundry powder because it's considerably cheaper than the small ones per wash So we generally agree I think brThe only collection I have is a collection of patches from my travels that I plan to make the most epic quilt with one day 💜

Just a different perspectivebrFor things that are not expiring & you will use like cleaners, personal care, etc: 1) you may get volume discounts, 2) the way inflation is going you may actually be paying more at the next purchase, 3) the types of savings accounts that have rates that actually beat inflation pressures tend to be long term deposits, longer than the usage cycle of fmcg & lastly 4) depending on how & where you shop, getting in bulk and travelling less, etc to go shopping may balance out in terms of your carbon footprint

The Xmas decor we have is from years ago, we don't buy it every year We also don't celebrate Halloween here, so we don't buy that I don't like clutter either Nope, advent calendars aren't for me I don't like anything shown either I LOVE candles though PLEASE TELL MY MOTHER THIS!!!! Actually listening to this while cleaning my bathroom Looking at how many back ups I have I don't need more sunscreen, toothpaste or face cleanser for at least 6 months I sew and collect fabric, so I only buy bras, jeans and shoes That being said I need to sew up some of the awesome things I've collected

For beauty products, I have to have a backup of eyebrow pencil because they have a tendency to run out after I’ve done one brow I also have backups of my skincare because I buy it when it’s on sale, and I use the same stuff For house stuff, I have backups of hand soap and dish soap because I buy them when they are on sale

The only place I did seasonal decoration was in my office Now I work from home so I got rid of most of it It used to be fun and made going to work more pleasant They closed our office and I don’t have a place inside to work so I work from my back patio so I don’t do any decor All my daily work stuff is in a weather proof plastic tub lol

Omg the advent calendar situation with Chanel last year (I think? 2 years ago?), let’s all recall that this year 😂 brbrbrShoes are the perfect example of why you invest in the right/good items and don’t need more I wear the same 3 pairs of shoes every day Granted I am not a shoe gal, like I love a cute shoe I appreciate those extra fancy pretty shoes, but that’s not my joy, and my feet need the special support because they are wide and flat with an insane instep, I can’t just wear whatever so I appreciate from afar I love this chat don’t buy what you don’t use!

for seasonal decor (i only really have a few christmas things) i recommend second hand! it is very easy to find even beautiful vintage pieces (i love 50s christmas decor) for very little money but even modern pieces and christmas lights are easily available at thrift stores and charity shops for fraction of the cost of new decor

Whenever my parents visit, they always want to buy a bunch of stuff for my house I truly appreciate it and don’t want to be ungrateful, but I have to try and convince them I don’t need 6 bottles of cleaner or extra large pack of paper towels I appreciate the gesture, but they’re bigger than my couch 😂

I agree with almost everything But the one type of thing i will absolutely keep in storage at home is cleaning supplies!😂 laundry soap and every boring related item when they are on a great discount and its almost time to get it anyway Yes its money sitting there But it is potentially less money sitting there than if i were to go and buy it once i run out and need it I tend to do the same with some simple canned foods like beans or tuna The reason that goes for both types of items is - to save money, have less trips to the store both because im usually on a tight time schedule and because it is boring and in that way - food related, i know i always have either something fast to build a meal around for the really busy times and for the house supplies i know its always possible for me to do a wash or a fast clean if i have some extra time and its neededbrbrBut for beauty, make up, fashion, decor and such items, absolutely! And sooo many could really use that healthy mindsetbrWe have a lot of christmas decor at home and we really love to have it all up in december The past years we have hosted a christmas day with friends where we make decorations for all of us, listen to christmas songs and drink hot chocolate so the collection will grow a little bit each year, but i love the days and the memories of the christmas decor we create😅

I am one of those people who buy a couple of each cleaning supply items I like the seasonal scents of Mrs Meyers fall scents I buy 3 dish soaps, 2 all purpose cleaners, and 3 hands soaps in the scent I like so I can enjoy that scent for a good 6 months I buy 1 laundry soap from Costco q6mo since they have the Ecos brand I like But I think that’s probably the exception to the rule And it’s honestly only a few things and that’s it

I really appreciate this video as I'm someone on a no buy and I have been so sad because I haven't been ablecto purchase all the new holiday makeup but on the other hand I've been able to give family ideas , which usually I can't 😅 Plus what you said in the video my hubby has been saying, and I did stop buying holiday decor a few years ago when I had to spend about $150 in totes one year to store what I bought and had to find a way to store for a year

I think the home decor thing is more common in Europe, where as in the US everything is totally capitalized and everyone feels like they have to go all out on decorations I have a friend that lives in France and he said they mostly just put up a small Christmas tree for the holidays, no other decorations

I buy my Apple cider vinegar hair rinse every year during the sephora sale I'm starting the bottle I bought last year tomorrow I purposely have a bottle on hand as I keep my hair short in the summer and I grow it out for winter I use it more frequently in winter, so there's a good chance I could use it before the next sephora sale

You probably will, but I'm interested in the new ND, but when I go for today sage colors, I reach for the ABH Nouveau and the Colourpop Child palette And I wear those colors very often If most of those ND shades are the cream to powder, though I absolutely love that formula Can't wait for the review

I was born in America but I feel like I should have been born in Europe Capitalism and consumerism is just not for me! I grew up with a mother who constantly over consumed everything (clothes, cleaning supplies, food, house wares- you name it!) Your thoughts on home decor and clothing is SO smart I only buy clothing if I LOVE it or if it's like something I really like/wear a lot in a different color (I have like 4 of the same workout tops in different clothes because I wear them all the time) We have Christmas decorations but we don't buy more every year unless it's something different and has meaning to us But you won't catch me with a stuffed turkey on my kitchen table or a giant pumpkin in my front yard! I am a backup person I’ve widdled it down though to absolute necessities I had to stockpile tp at the beginning of the pandemic because it was nowhere for months, so when I saw it I got whatever the limit was I never buy makeup backups unless it’s concealer, mascara, or face powder cause I go through those quickly

I bought a couple of makeup advent calendars when we first had them years ago in the UK I quickly realised I hadn't used that makeup at the end of the year I do love the Cult Beauty Edits though, so instead of an advent calendar I bought the hair, the luxury and the fragrance edits I went over each box carefully to make sure I would use the products and enjoy them I really love the fragrance one as it's home fragrance and perfume
