I think this is a first world problem Alcohol and tobacco are choices and as long as people are into it, nobody can stop it Even gov't bans can't stop it It is a choice people make What we can do is educate people of the risks Plus, since there is an industry around it, there are people (small farmers that also benefit from it)

Not very smart We can do lots of things to oppose tobacco but refusing to buy shares is not one of them Holding shares in your portfolio doesn't benefit the company Widespread dumping of these shares would only result in great enrichment by whoever buys them (and people will) The tobacco industry is not dependent on continual new inflow of money and hasn't been for a very long time, if ever It's a cash cow I applaud her desire, but finance is one front where pushing tobacco companies will make no difference

I wish governments would start restricting smoking in public If people want to ruin their own health they can do it in their own space I hate it when people smoke while waiting for the bus and train, worse when there are children around and they smoke anyway Use the tax on tobacco to build smoking areas or better yet, make the tobacco industry pay for them I spent almost a year in Japan and saw maybe two people smoking outside of smoking areas so you can't tell me that banning smoking in public doesn't work Warning labels don't cut it We even have pictures of smoker lungs on cigarettes here in Germany and people still buy them while non-smokers are forced to see these gross pictures too (cigarettes are only shelved right by the cashier)
