Thom Hickey
Thanks for this lesson, it's truly amazing and you're a great teacher But the last part of the solo sure isn't the "easiest part" to me lol sure, it's just a two string hammer-on triplet and I can play it at like 85 or 90 (maybe) speed, but to hit it at full speed and stay on beat throughout the entire 4 measures and not get lost is not at all easy for me In fact I've yet to see anyone on YouTube truly hit that ending of the solo like Jimmy Lyon did on that recording So clean and smooth
Comment from : Thom Hickey

Gr8 tune and another one of your patented gr8 lessons IMO one of the best rock solos and you nail it as usual Your ability to break up the solo into individual phrases helps the learning process with a "chunking" approach Gonna take me a while, but with your help I hope to nail it too! This is not to doubt your excellent tutorials; however, many times it better to hear the original song/lead before you break it all down That way, it puts its all together Just having several licks combined is nice, but some of us have heard, for instance, "Two tickets" in years

So, on the harmony lick (very helpful) if there isn't a 2nd guitarist - how could one use a harmonist to replicate that lick? Key of A or D? What scale? Not a 3rd or 5th so? Thanks in advance

Also agree about Jimmy Lyons One of the great "unknown" guitarists who doesn't stand out with flashy solos but plays exactly what the song calls for There's no better example than this song His phrasing and musicality impresses me way more than any shredding
