Most of the teachers I know regret getting into it It can be an extremely stressful and nasty job, especially as you get higher up the ladder My wife is a Head of school teacher, she's been doing it for 20 years She has just handed in her notice, which I'm really pleased about There isn't a month she doesn't get punched or kicked or spat on

Matt Lombard
Hi I have been in the teaching industry for 14 years I respect you for doing the job and I can see you love teaching The problem in the last few years is we are seeing an influx of non native speakers with Degrees Poor language skills in English People with a Degree who are not interested in teaching and just want to party People who expect special rules and huge salary's for doing nothing but walking into a class Screwing up the target language and refusing to do lesson plans or follow the dress code We have to train them up and it just feels like a total waste of time! They really do not care about students or connect with them The schools are scared to stand up to them because there is a shortage of real teachers So it is better to have a warm body in the class than nothing I am the only native teacher in my school I am the only teacher doing lesson plans The rest just think of games to play in class I do not think any of them know how to make a lesson plan or are interested I used to work with real teachers I could learn from Now I just feel all I can learn from are my students

Ela Hancer
Thanks for sharing your insights I've got some queries about teaching in England with a PGCE I've got a PGCE from the University of Sunderland with three years of Teaching Assistant experience (however, my capacity was a co-teacher in the UK sense) I did my PGCE placement at an international school overseas and have recently moved to London for my MA in Mathematics Education Applying for jobs as a secondary maths teacher at independent and international schools in London, but I've not been successful thus far and I'm getting the feeling that it's because I don't have a QTS Do you think there's any hope for those who don't have a QTS but have a PGCE? The whole system in England seems very confusing compared to overseas situationswould appreciate any advice Thanks

Teaching is such a wonderful profession that both of you teach either abroad or from homeHow much are they paying you for making other people fall into the trap? Please, dont teach in UK or come to teach in UK either! Your life will be destroyed if you come! You will work 70-80 hours a week, no time to even take care of your basic needs You will be marking books during the weekends and holidays The money is so bad that you will struggle to pay your own rent and even basics like food, and possibly you will be living in a small seedy roomAlso,an increasing number of British teenage students are extremely disengaged, nasty, violentfrom spitting at you, throwing cans and all sort of objects, including chairs, to pushing you and worse, including constant shouting and swearingyou will be treated like rubbish and be blamed for it Everything is always the teacher's fault! And no one does anything, they hide it under the carpet or use you as an scape goat Teaching in UK is glorified babysitting where the kids basically rule like tyrannical dictatorsPlease, stay away! They are just calling you cause no one wants to teach in UK anymore! Its modern slavery! And we urgently need an Education reform!

HELL NO the lack of respect you will receive is in some way justified as you are seen as you have voluntarily joined a very corrupt system in which you have as you have been deceived by the propaganda that surrounds it but as it looks like to a student that you have known about how badly the school system is and the lack of respect towards children’s freedom and natural ability to learn and that it causes mental health problems due to stress and standardised tests the school system needs to realise that you don’t need to have them stripped of their freedom and dignity as a collective and the amount of homework and the seemingly endless school days due the the boredom to have respectful and academically intelligent students for gods sake look at Finland don’t do it and just because I am a uk 13 year old doesn’t mean that i am a complete retard I Will not stop my constant dislike towards the uk school system until they acknowledge and change before they have severely damaged the next generation who will grow to hate education

I am studying BA(hons) English Language and Linguistics (TESOL pathway) at the University of Central Lancashire This course includes the Trinity Cert TESOL at about a fifth of the price, which you complete in your second year Half of my lectures are TESOL based with specialist module options such as teaching young learners The other half of the modules are linguistics based After I graduate, I'm planning on doing a PGCE Primary Education (3-7 years or early years) Hopefully after all that I will move to Hong Kong and teach there in an international school 😁 wish me luck! 😍 love your videos 😍

Hello there! I am not a UK citizen, but I would like to study at a British university and move to the UK permanently This might be a stupid question, so excuse my ignorance, but could a person from outside the UK get into primary education as easily as someone that has lived there their entire lives? I am a 17 year old European citizen by the way, and I've only just recently started to look more into teachingyour videos have helped me SO much!

Comment from : tawanaht

Did either of you consider working with Teach First in the UK? I've applied for their graduate development scheme, which lasts 2 years They sponsor you to do your PGDE (postgraduate diploma in education) whilst simultaneously doing placements I'm worried though that this isn't considered as 'legit' of a route as doing your PGCE? x
Comment from : nina azaria

I'm attending Modern Languages undergraduate program but I would like to become a teacher after university Although, I would like to teach in languages courses, not in regular schools (primary, secondary etc) Should I apply for PGCE or it's not required for language courses?

Hello! I am thinking to do the teaching training in UK but I am not sure if I can do it as I have not much experiences in education I have done my psychology degree and I am doing my MA of International Approaches to Early Childhood Education right now but I feel like I could not lead the whole class and prepare the lesson as I have never tried to do something like that? I am feeling like the teaching qualification/training put you in position to teach just like that without any preparation on how you should behave and what to do or even how to prepare your own lesson How you even know how to prepare one? also I am feeling like the interview for teaching training, which is often wih test skills like giving the tasks to show how would you lead this and that and teach them, like how could I know and be assesmented on that if I have never learnt how to do it? You just know it?
