Nature lover’s adventures
When the bank sends you the number it says right next to it in the same text that do not share this number with anyone and the bank will never call you after sending the number Did she read that text? Or Chase did not spell it out in the message?

Its unfortunate that with the increase of technology the elderly are left vulnerable since they arent very astute or versed with security measures
Comment from : Lemon Snout

Rebecca Hetrick
Hmmm Seems like this could all be avoided with a bit of common sense Like, every "code" text I get from any company says "DO NOT SHARE THIS CODE WITH ANYONE"brcommon sense
Comment from : Rebecca Hetrick

Rebecca Hetrick
I don't get those text messages because I keep my account locked unless I'm actually actively making a purchase

Comment from : Lovely Rose4life

foodiefrankie
I wonder if you can sue the bank for not have a secure bank account(s)? I see other banks were sued with a class action lawsuits and the customers won IMO sounds like Chase Bank is working with the scammers to make sure everyone that banks with Chase loses every penny they have I wonder if it was an inside job Someone from Chase Bank gave a scammer information like name and address and phone number and now scams the Chase bank customer out of every penny brbrI would get the federal government involved and see what the bank did that could have been prevented I also believe a wire transfer should be signed in person and not digital brbrHow can a person transfer an account without an account name, password, SSN, verification and so on Someone in the bank gave the scammers that information
Comment from : foodiefrankie

Becky Barbour
It same thing happened to me, but I never responded and blocked the number

Comment from : swallowedinthesea11

Gene
For this type of issues, if you are not sure about those who are calling you (since scammers are everywhere), drop the call and call the reliable numbers instead I'm working in a bank Normally, bank won't do that They don't ask questions like the numbers of your card or even your pin numbers You can always call the number at the back of your card or if you have your own banker, you can get in touch with them
Comment from : Gene

Denise Harris
I just got scammed this same way😢😢😢 Hint - same person will not be calling you back, giving you personal attention to help you resolve the situation…… GO DIRECTLY TO THE BANK!!!! The scammers know codes and processes to impersonate the bank agents TRUST NO ONE!!

Comment from : MOM

Railer505
It's a real shame that the bad guys actually won in this case And Chase helped them But doesn't every verification code text these days contain the words "Do not share this with anyone"? Or maybe that only started happening after this case
Comment from : Railer505

Joseph
Or at least maybe they could send you a text message alerting you about a possible cat checking cash where you can deny or confirm that that was you were somebody that you authorized
Comment from : Joseph

Joseph
I keep hearing about Chase Bank on the news why don't they add a couple more security measures like maybe a signature comparison each person needs to submit a decent signature so that it can compare that signature to any checks that come in

ACJ0000
It's designed like this to bankrupt Americans The Deep state is behind this The signs are here but people are still in their Disneyland fairytale dream The Deep State and the government are trying to find every way to make you poor and die The less people in the masses, the less that can't fight back for their country that is being seized Hollywood is exposing their evil satanic culture that you obviously cannot deny Take a good look around you this was all a setup intentionally designed to make you poor and destitute off the government for your very existence
Comment from : ACJ0000

Avi Satlow
Generally speaking, banks like CHASE are only required to refund the money if the charges were unauthorized (ie the hackers broke into her account without her permission or involvement) Banks are generally not required to protect your account like they stress They typically do it to protect THEMSELVES (not the customer) due to specific federal laws that require banks to reimburse customers in specific incidents Here, it appears that the woman voluntarily gave the scammers information on a false pretense This was not an unauthorized occurrence where CHASE would be subject to this federal law Therefore, by law, it appears that CHASE is not responsible Additionally, I agree with CHASE that this woman should know better You don't just answer text messages, phone calls, and emails claiming to be from your bank without verifying it first I get those messages ALL THE TIME from various scammers This is one of the few times I agree with the banks (I don't typically like banks all that much but am pretty familiar with how they operate as a layman)
